In my ongoing saga/life crisis of getting the FD RX7 to start, I narrow in on the primary injectors. Getting close! Trying some new phone video editing software...let me know what you think.

Have You had trouble getting the Tools, Factory Service Manual, Scan Tool that is for the K1200S from the Dealer Ship? Thanks.
I have the service CD for the bike. I've never seen a scanner tool for the bike. I wish there was one so I could reset the service light.

My Friend got the Service Manual on CD from Pirates Lair I believe in 2007 and there was a BMW Dealer used Scanner in the Manual and the BWM Motorcycle dealer We went to to try and get it said it was for Sale to Dealers only. I'll ask My friend to send Me a Screen shot of the manual and get back to You.
RECALLED: this is under a recall.I have a 2012 K1300S HP that would not start after a run. The problem was fixed by a BMW recall on this situation

just for curiosity, where is the fuse box of this bike??
I replaced my fuel pump after watching this video and found it very helpful. The only thing I would add is you should absolutely buy a new gasket. Seat it in the fuel tank opening then apply a very thin film of grease to the fuel pump base and it should slide right in. Like Mike discusses, I spent 2 hours wrestling with the old gasket to no avail. Obviously, it had shrunk and stiffened. Buy a new gasket.
Nice job. The pump I purchased took a dump a few months later. I bought an OEM pump recently.
Sorry got lost are you trying to fix the unable to crank after a stop i.e. gas station or a stall?
I have exactly the same problem on my k1200s, it seems Injector Injection Fuel Nozzle malfunction after getting hot, i used 91 octain petrol ⛽ which probably cause this breakage.

How long after start-up? I would start with the basics, like coolant level and thermostat. If your thermostat is stuck, it won't open allowing for coolant to circulate causing overheating. I would start there.

Wondering how long the job took, end-to-end? My dealer quoted me $479 for a fuel pump (for my K1200S) and 6 hours of labor at $95/hr. Your video didn't show removing and reinstalling tank but the fuel pump install to 20 mins. Also your pump price from Quantum was A LOT cheaper!! Thanks.
How did this end up going? I also have a 2009 K1300S. Also wondering why your bearing broke? Mine has 55,000km's on it.
The new, used motor is ok. However the pump or controller broke again. When I drove it, I noticed oil was on my right rear tire...after some canyon driving, not exactly what one wants to see. So, maybe there's a leak from the sump tank. Not sure if this is new though. Video to come soon.
@@mikesmadfix1180 Such a bummer - Lucky you're hjandy on the tools. I have a K1200R, K1200S and K1300s.. Love these bikes but would hate to have to fix them!

Next time use an impact drill, with a Phillips head bit.
Did you find the problem? Mine Has hiccups when writing but doesn’t turn off
Yeah, it's in a follow up video. Unfortunately it's on the fritz again. Either the new pump took a dump or wiring. I'll be posting new vids soon.

Does this get in the way for oil changes. Looks like it may be a pain if you have take it off and on every time.
Nope, no problems there.
check the valves and adjust or it can be as simply the injectors

Thats a really cheap part.. look at the finish on the edges.. it hasnt even been smoothed. it still has rough burrs on it

About 50k. I think it died due to sitting so long when I was having engine issues.

Sorry, just seeing this. Yes, the dealer can be pretty creative. My bike is a 2009, but I believe it's the same pump regardless of the model year. I paid $70 directly from Quantum. Quantum Intank EFI Fuel Pump for BMW K1300 2007-2016, Replaces 16137656904 (HFP-382-B) Unit Price: $69.98

I know this video is old (if you count 2ish years old), but couldn't you reverse the hoses to allow the fuel to enter the other side of the primary exit then to the other side (than stock) of the secondary rail, and put your FPR on the other side of the secondary rail, then return it to the tank? I know this would cause you to use more fuel line in the engine bay, but thought that may be the most reasonable routing vice purchasing new fuel rails.
I believe you can do it from either side. I've since upgraded to FFE rails with ID2000s. The FFE secondary rail has an fpr integrated in the same fashion as my original routing. A lot has happened since this video. I'm about to swap out the POS turbo for. Precision Turbo. I should have it up in a few days. I can provide an update with the fueling as well. Mike's Mad Fix yeah, I am in the process of cleaning up my engine bay. I am still using the twins, but building a separate vacuum solenoid system and simplified sequential routing. I checked out that Rywire and think I’ll give them a call later this week. Eventually I want to go single turbo, but I plan on using the car for weekend cruising so the twins are fine for that purpose.

Oops, I went all old school video game consoles...I meant USDM ECUs are 8 bit. The latter are 16 bit.

I bought a 'beak' for my MT-09 Tracer (FJ-09) from the same manufacturer and was so impressed with the way it improved the front end that I purchased the belly pan. I cant say I was pleased at all. Quality's not bad but I think it just looks plain ugly. I took it straight off again.
Yeah, I didn't know what to think at first either, but I've grown to like it. Hopefully they let you return it.

I'm glad you liked it. I was very impressed. I haven't been posting new vids due to.....life, but I should be getting back at it soon. I can say that, unfortunately, I didn't account for how far the sensor protruded once installed. The sensor hit the transmission, so I had to abort the mission. I took it to a muffler shop and they both filled in the hole and welded a permanent bung on the other side where I had more clearance. Keep that in mind before you drill.

Do your OEM handguards hit the windscreen when at full lock?
No, the steering is unhindered.
My screen is in the highest position. Check to see if your screen is on the low position. I think you can adjust the hand guards too. Maybe who ever built your bike at the dealer set them differently.
Using the Vstream "sport touring" model on my FJ-09 Tracer and very pleased. 5'10" with the windshield in the low position.
Is this model N20317 or N20318? How do you like it so far? How tall are you? I am also considering this windshield.
It's the N20318, 17.25 inches high. I'm 6'4, it's a big improvement. Wind and noise have been dramatically reduced. I can actually hear the bike now when I ride versus listening to wind. Rode in the rain yesterday, the wind bubble it created kept me relatively dry. I've noticed I'm warmer too due to not being pelted with wind constantly. My visor does get foggy quicker now that the I'm out of the Windstream, but one click fixes that. I do recommend thread lock on all the hardware because the windshield takes a lot of abuse due to it's size. The belly pan just came in, I'll be posting the mod video soon.

Looks good. But, are you planning on leaving your turbo oil feed there?? It will get extreamly hot right up against the hotside of the turbo..
Good, I'm not the only one who thinks that's sketchy. The hose came with the "kit". I'll have to get a shorter hose to get rid of the loop. Thanks for the heads up.
It would be helpful to display a line up of all the tools you need early in the video, also a shark with a laser beam attached to its head to pinpoint what you are talking about under the hood. Cool video!
