Hi guys, been away from sw England for 6 months now travelling with the mrs, sold up and quit our long term jobs to do so. Just about to go to Perth in December. We are panicking a bit about rentals and jobs however. I’m a sparky (need to re qualify in aus) and the mrs is a very good barista. How easy was the job and rental hunt? Any pointers on either would be amazing. All I read is that there is nowhere to rent with huge waiting lists but I tend to find online sources exaggerate quite a lot
There is a lot of rentals especially if you go further away from the city . You will be required to have a job and references to qualify though :) but shared accommodation or air bnb is a good idea when you’re first getting set up and waiting for your jobs!:) just have to keep consistent with you searches most people give up 🤦♀️
Not worth much in the Philippines
Love you are living your life xxx
I love you guys 🥂
You need to check out Queenstown and Wanaka
You guys are official Perthites! "It's a dry heat" is the giveaway. Don't forget the old "North or South of the river?" ps. The answer is North, always North 🤣
The way the UK is now and quickly going I wouldn't want to be in the UK no more. Look at all the illegal immigrants coming in and the government is ruining the country. They don't care about English any more. So sad to see where the UK and Europe is becoming.
Agreed! It doesn’t look like the place to be right now!
Come back to Perth!! Emigrate. I came out from the UK in 1989 and I can confirm it is the best decision. Plus, you guys are going to have gorgeous looking kids.
We cant wait to come back haha! And thank you😊
Brother, who cares 😅??
Bwewy🤣
Had the worst food poisoning a few years a go from a cocktail at railay Beach, where they have used tap water for makeing cheap ice... They do this even still today as I heared :(
Definitely agree that Perth has the best beaches in Australia. Looking forward to visiting Adelaide and the beaches!!
That is BS about the reef is slowly dying. It's the BS they say to try and put forward their climate change crap.
The Reef IS NOT dying! Coral cover is actually increasing. Google Dr David Ridd.
Gotta do a tiebreaker, but this time no folding
Great info, thanks for this! Moving there in January!
Yeah sorry guys for your bad experience. I grew up in Magill (eastern suburbs) and lived only the east until my 50th birthday around about and ended up living in Evanston right next to the bypass and so far, so good - really love it here. It is quiet even though the bypass used to have heavy traffic but doesn't now with the northern expressway taking a lot of the heavy traffic away. Salisbury, Elizabeth, Munno Para - all places I was told to stay away from. It used to be high crime area, especially Elizabeth. I still shop sometimes in Munno Para but never take the dog with me on those trips for fear someone would steal my dog. Also shade is an issue there anyway. I am not familiar with the crime statistics in the areas now as I do most of my shopping in the Gawler area which is a more well to do but cross section of population that live there. At the age of 64 now I wouldn't live anywhere else. Maybe Perth or Hobart but not interested at all in Melbourne or the eastern seaboard or Darwin. In fact Darwin has a really bad reputation for crime. Melbourne lost its Australian culture some time back so I just view that as another Asian or Middle Eastern city, same with Sydney as there is a huge population of muslims living there. I am not saying that Adelaide doesn't have a multicultural problem, but it is not as in your face as those cities. The city of Adelaide was planned by a surveyor general - that is why it is a grid pattern with North Tce, South Tce, West Tce, and East Tce as its boundaries and then it spreads in different directions from there. South Australia was the first colonized free state in Australia, so you got some well to do wealthy colonists back in the day heading to Adelaide, and the convicts went to the east side of Australia. You forgot to mention Cleland National Park which you should have gone to because you could have had a picture taken holding a koala if you had wanted it. Handhorf??? You mean Hahndorf. German town settled by German settlers in the Adelaide Hills. Yes missing Kangaroo Island was a bummer. Nice place but destroyed for the most part during the massive HAARP weather war on Australia back in 2019 using HAARP energy weapons to create bushfires. We are still in that cabal war - look what is going on in North Carolina with FEMA (part of the cabal created by the Clintons). So many dead now. We lost a lot of our beautiful animals during that. The other place you should have gone to was headed up north and seen The Flinders Ranges. They are some of the oldest mountain ranges in the world formed over 600 million years ago. www.environment.sa.gov.au/goodliving/posts/2024/04/15-fascinating-facts-about-the-flinders-ranges Not that I care that you pissed on Adelaide a bit because it keeps the numbers down which I am happy about, I do think you probably didn't come at the right times to see Adelaide. Adelaide has a fringe festival and others: www.australiantraveller.com/sa/adelaide/top-10-annual-adelaide-festivals/ and we used to have the Grand Prix but Melbourne stole it away from us. But we have a biking event: southaustralia.com/products/adelaide/event/santos-tour-down-under
to all the foreigners reading this please dont move to perth fuck off we are full
Victor
hey, how is the gym culture there?
Unfortunately for you both you managed to find a week or 2 that we got some rain. As an Adelaide resident I can assure you we appreciate every drop we get in winter because we are the driest state on the first continent. And we definitely cannot rely on getting Mach rain through spring and summer.
You mean driest state on the driest continent. Agree. Don't get enough water really.
The Botanic Gardens in the city area next to the river is the old Botanic Gardens and there's a proper full on Official Botanic Gardens at the base of Mt Cootha actually. It has a planetarium for keen astronomers at the Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens.
😂
Superstar, cool video I know no one shared or like or send a note but I did superstar. You are superstar making thes superstar videos I know they’re kind of funny but I like them still you know yeah you know
You should consider getting a house 30 minutes out from the city in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, can get a 3 bedroom house with a yard spacious for $400 per week, just 30 minutes to the city, like im on a street 5 minutes from Costco and Epping Plaza a large shopping mall, its a lot cozier than a small shack with 20 strangers
Lukes was absolutely diabolical 🤣🤣 Her meal was a lot more sane/classy
Blimey just watched your Perth video now you’re in my home land lol NZ must be a lot different from Perth
Hahaa yes it’s very different!!
Dear (Jess and Luke) Hope you are doing well. I was analyzing your TH-cam channel . I'm really impressed by your videos but your TH-cam channel has some issues. You have made many videos but your TH-cam channel is not getting views and subscribers. Your thumbnail design is not attractive, you should use good thumbnails to increase your video views, because a good thumbnail increases a video views. Because you have no complete SEO any videos, Channel tags are not seo friendly, Video Tag is not seo friendly.not SEO friendly title and description. If you complete all tasks then you get more views and subscribers with monetization.
Great video. Telling it as it really is.
😂😂 drop bears. It's just part of our humour.
It snows every year in the blue mountains . I lived there for over twenty years. About six years ago the snow shut the highway for about three days and was still there about Two weeks later.
It has snowed in Sydney in the past. 1905 snow fell on George st. In 1995 it snowed on the top of the harbour bridge.
For every spider you see, there's a hundred others looking at you that you can't see.
So Sad to see Alice like that. Your right about it being very different twenty years ago. I used to live and still have family out in Papunya ( about three hundred kilometres nth west of Alice). There were problems in Alice back then but you could still go out at night and go to some really great restaurants etc. without having to look over your shoulder. I used to sleep in my car when i went to Alice, never had a problem. Wouldn't do it now days.
not worth visiting alice springs anymore its a dump
whats with the hat?
I'm going to say it ... PC be dammed. The Aboriginal kids are feral and it is the fault of the Aboriginal parents. It is the further fault of the Australian Govt. not having any balls to incarcerate the children. They call the Alice Springs kids "the untouchables", and they know they are, so they do some crazy stuff and its only getting worse.
I would love to visit Uluru. The alcohol problem in Aus is so sad. That might help to understand why we pay such high taxes on alcohol. You guys look great. Sometimes it's good to have a break from constant travelling, hey? I bet you're both itching to get exploring again, though!
@@sg4364 you should it’s great! And thank you 🩷 we deffo are ready to go travelling again !!😅🥲
I want to go nice vid
There are 1 million feral camels, and 50 million Kangaroos. Although, there are more camels in Australia than in the middle east.
Sadly … there are too many of the introduced species, damaging the very special outback.
I can imagine Adelaide would be a hard city to move to, it's not really transitional in the sense it's more of a place people go to settle down. Most people have generations of family in Adelaide and friendship circles are tight. If just visiting March would probably be your best bet, as that's the fringe and when the city is really bustling. Also if you like trendy cafes and bars you'd really thrive. Though if you do stay longer, jobs wise probably in a vineyard or as a bartender/ barista might give you a better experience or living somewhere just out of Adelaide like the Hills or Victor Harbour. Just a thought. Anyway GREAT VIDEO guys!
Plenty on in Radelaide throughout the year; heaps of festivals, sporting events and live music all year round.
That was a poor effort 😆
G'day to you Guys, came to Perth in '71 on a 3 Week Holiday from Sydney, never went back ,I loved it soon as I got here, enough said. Armadale
Please no one else move here. It saddens me people are now aware that Perth is a great city, I preferred it when the eastern states looked down on us. It’s going to lose its small town feel.
radelaide is beautiful.
Thank god its not touristy. Nothing worse.
lol Salisbury my old hood, it’s pretty dangerous if ur not a local
The good, bad and ugly is everywhere, but that's my home state and I grew up in the heart of Adelaide lived above a shop in King William Street and had the best childhood, as my backyard was the city with parks surrounding the square mile of the CBD, libraries, zoo, popeye and paddle boats, Adelaide markets, tram to Glenelg beach the list was endless and SAFE.
did you see bad boy bubby walking about?
You, may want to add that winter is the best time for BBQ's and Picnics along the river at either Southbank, Botanical Gardens or New Farm Park which is the biggest, they all have free BBQ's and can take the city cat ferries to all of them. :)
No you shouldnt.. its a boring shithole! I went there on a cruise and didnt even bother getting off the ship
How would you know then😂
Your on a boring cruise ship and dont get off, think the boring bit may be within.
Keep telling everyone Adelaide’s a shithole you’re doing us Adelaidians a favour.
Then my question would be if you didn't get off the ship, how the hell could you know? You actually sound kind of dense. Not bright. Perhaps it is a good thing you continued your journey and got off somewhere else.
If you didn't get off then how could you possibly know a place? You are coming across as a little dense. Perhaps it is a good thing for Adelaide's sake that you stayed onboard and continued your journey. We wouldn't want someone so judgemental falling in love with our part of the world and wanting to stay. That would be too much.
