I mean you’d think since Nickelodeon fired him and they own the IP, they wouldn’t want anything to do with him, but since more than 90% of the original Spumco team had already left, I’m guessing Nickelodeon said to Spike TV “*scoffs* Go ahead and let him do what he wants. He’s already lost so many employees who helped made Ren and Stimpy what it was. He’s nothing without them, but at least he’ll have all the freedom you’re actually giving him.”

I shouldn’t feel bad for John, given his bullshit personality. But at the same time, you’d think since this man who helped change in tv animation at the time, he would go on to create equally successful shows, yet all of them either couldn’t last a season (Ripping Friends), are flash animation products that came off as vengeance towards Nickelodeon as opposed to passion products (The Goddamn George Liquor Program and What Pee Boners Are For), had an unaired pilot (He Hog), a kickstarter product that looked unfinished (Cans Without Labels), or worse, a reboot of his most famous product that couldn’t last three episodes (Do I have to say what it is?). John K’s reputation in animation is rather fascinating. He helped revolutionize the medium, yet later his career kept dwindling down after that one successful show, until it became no more.

John Kricfalusi, before abusing Roby Byrd, was already a piece of shit as a person. He mistreated everyone and abused employees. At least it can be said that these days he has adopted his own art as family because no one real wants anything to do with him anymore.

I must admit that I feel sorry for John... I know it's a paedophile but... He had such a nasty life... I'm not defending him or justifying his actions. I'm just saying that if lufe treated him better, maybe he would be a better erson an d o down in history as one of the most legendary animators of whole times... John K.'s work on Ren and Stimpy was phenomenal, but his other projects and what he did in real life were horrible.

I think it was unfair just to bash APC and not apply any criticism to the later episodes of Ren and Stimpy. Like it or not, when John and other Spumco members left, the show experienced a precipitous decline in quality. There are some great episodes during the games era like Stimpy's Cartoon Show, Ren's Bitter Half, and Double Header. The rest generally didn't have the density of character or intensity of the early seasons. With that said, I would still take the Games Animation Ren and Stimpy over APC which is a travesty.

John K and Spumco were Fired on 2/26/1993 after complete 4 remaining season 2 episodes. NOT 1992. 9/23/1992 was when Nickelodeon revealed that they would be starting Games Animations and were requesting John K work with them. He Refused, so Nick cut their Budget and Terminated their contract 5 months later.

While I will say I like the more edgy and adult side of ren and stimpy like mans best friend and space madness and even happy happy joy joy but , for a kids show having this between rugrats and Doug and hey Arnold is litterally insanity and damn John is a disrespectful rude sh!t face , I love ren and stimpy at an art perspective one of my huge influences before I found out what a ass this guy was definitely disappointing even now

I have always felt that Stimpy & Stinky's reunion was one of the most emotionally-charged scenes in damn near any cartoon of the era. The way it builds and builds to that moment and climaxes with that exact, spare instrumental of "Silent Night" is magnificent. He may have been making fun of it, but in the process he made probably the purest example of it.

The more I’m reminded of this show’s terrible production with the OG Spumco staff, the more I feel sad for Bob Camp. Sure, maybe going back to do the show without the OG team was a dick move and maybe the parties could’ve thought of a better compromise, but at the same time, Bob and a bunch of other OG artists staying for Games was probably the best outcome for the show going forward, even if Games did produce some of the lesser episodes of the series. Personally, I feel Ren & Stimpy was best when John and Bob worked together, I don’t try to be one of those fans who tries to put one man over the other, because look at what happened after they separated for both Games’ later episodes and MOST of the shit show that is Adult Party. But I still feel Camp gets viewed somewhat unfairly because of the original studio division in 1992. I look at what he did for Games as trying his best to care for a child separated from their abusive parent. Was he perfect at it, no. But I still respect him & the remaining Games crewmembers for at least trying to make something out of a shitty situation. As for John K, look, he CAN be a good artist AND driving force when he’s heavily monitored and occasionally told no. But aside from his bright spots on OG R&S, yeah he and his dumbass abusive dad can both burn in hell. I am NOT defending those freaks any further, sorry. How do you guys (and the possible naysayers I feel I WILL get) feel about the situation? Fire away if you want….
