I would like to know what the music in this intro is.

15 year-old me got a huuuuge crush on Helen Slater after seeing Supergirl back in '84, but even then I was discerning enough to see what a dismal movie it was. She and Jerry Goldsmith's music were the only good things about it -- but they alone made it worth seeing.

Supergirl was such an underrated movie

Marc McClure, who portrayed Jimmy Olsen in the Superman movies on the big screen starring Christpher Reeve, was the only one from there to appear in Supergirl-The Movie. But it would've been superb to see her in Superman 4; The Quest for Peace and maybe also the actress who portrayed Lucy Lane as well.

The middle part is so romantic, delicate, feminine and strong at the same time. It really captured Kara/Supergirl.

Después de tantos años transcurridos de la muerte de James Horner, seguimos echándole mucho de menos, pero con programas como el vuestro, ayudan a recordarle y redescubrir la magia de su música. Y así como en "Bicentennial Man" el protagonista sobrevive a varias generaciones, la música de Horner siempre estará con nosotros. (05.05.22)

Felicidades a los tres por el programa, para mi ha sido el descubrimiento de lo que llevamos de año. Si me permitís mi humilde colaboración, en primer lugar como habéis profundizado en la figura de Alfred Newman en su vertiente más religiosa, sería "The Song of Bernadette", puro lirismo y sensibilidad. En segundo lugar, una película habitual en la Semana Santa, sería "Jesus of Nazareth", un gran trabajo de Maurice Jarre con un leitmotiv inolvidable (22.04.22)

Muy interesante y entretenido todo… Me ha llamado la atención el comentario de si es más o menos escuchable fuera de la pantalla. No debemos olvidar que es música ligada a unas imágenes. Eso es lo verdaderamente importante.

Si me dais la oportunidad de contribuir humildemente en vuestro podcast, para mi un "cara B" de Goldsmith sería "Freud" una película dirigida por John Huston y protagonizada por Montgomery Cliff y Susanna York. (18.03.22)

En el "Batman Begins", los títulos de los tracks del CD corresponden a diferentes especies de murciélagos, de ahí viene que el corte Nº 10 que tanto nos gusta se titule "Molossus" (17.03.22)

Hablais de Debney (que me parece bien), pero WIlliam Ross, David Arnold y Joel McNeely serían por ester orden para mi, las mejores opciones

No quedé conforme con las alternativas expuestas. Si estuviese en el lugar de Disney Studios, haría lo posible por confiarle la realización de la banda sonora a los creadores de la música para el videojuego "Star Wars, The Old Republic", un equipo de compositores encabezados por Gordy Haab, quien también es responsable de música inédita para BattleFront II. Estos músicos no son muy originales en lo que se refiere a leitmotifs, pero alteran lo ya compuesto por Williams de modo magistral. Les sugiero videos en TH-cam (Star Wars The Old Republic OST).

From the late 1970s through the mid 1990s, Jerry Goldsmith wrote a lot of great music for some truly awful movies, and if you look at his filmography during that period, you can see the pattern developing: where John Williams had Jurassic Park, Goldsmith had Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend; as Williams had Raiders of the Lost Ark, so Goldsmith had King Solomon’s Mines; and as Williams had Superman, so Goldsmith had Supergirl."

Just amazing and sends chills up and down, love seeing music scores do there best

It would've been superb if the theme from Supergirl-The Movie had been heard in at least 1 episode of Supergirl-The Series just as the theme from Superman-The Movie was heard once or twice in the TV-Series Smallville.

I love the Supergirl movie. It's from my childhood and I think it's the perfect theme song for her.

Great score and a great performance. Really do have to wonder if this would have been the score for Superman had Goldsmith stayed on. As for Supergirl, I think the movie itself is fun enough. Yea, it's silly and cheesy, but Helen Slater is good in the role, score is good obviously, and the flying effects are fantastic. Really, some of the best even when compared next to some of effects in the Reeve films.

This theme is equally as brilliant as William's iconic Superman theme.

Funny thing is that this would have most likely have been Superman's Theme if Goldsmith was not committed to another contract(which in turn Donner got Williams)when Donner asked him to score "Superman" since their collaboration for "The Omen" was so successful. Directors like to work with composers that they have a good relationship with Burton/Elfman and Spielberg/Williams to name a few. That being said, I love the score to "Supergirl". A huge fan of Goldsmith, have MANY of his compositions in my vast film music library.

It would've been superb if the theme from Supergirl-The Movie was heard in the Supergirl TV-Series just as the theme from Superman-The Movie was heard in the conclusion of the series finale of Smallville.
