Perfect analysis of a truly unnecessary film. I was really hoping the animated sequence would make a return as it set the tone for a potentially wild ride. SO many missed opportunities!! Never have I been at IMAX and started checking my phone to see how much time was left. 1 Butter Pump for the sound, and maybe some extra salt for the acting. Only because (as you mentioned) the performance from Phoenix felt held back compared to the first one. I don’t know why exactly…but watching Gaga’s performance made me wish Amy Winehouse was still alive and had been in the role instead.

I got home about an hour ago from seeing Joker: Folie a Deux, and have been looking at review videos. What a Great review, BP; totally on point! I totally agree about the acting and production values. Alhtough, unlike you, I didn't absolutely dislike it. I think I'll see it again - (but not for the pacing and writing)! I'm mesmerized by the acting, the costumes, etc. On the flip side, I fear it will be VERY LONG next time I view it. I mean, it was too long this time around, but.....at least I'll be psyched up for it? Maybe? 😂 (Oh, and how about that opening sequence? I was like... whaaaaaaa?)

I am and will always be a theatre kid. My gay heart loves good storytelling, great musical numbers, and spectacular set and costume designs. Musicals are some of my favorite films to watch because they do a great job of transporting the viewer into a fantasy world. I am looking at 32% on the rotten tomato meter and damn that's dissapointing. I have not seen this film yet, waiting for streaming, but I'm not looking forward to it. I really want more Batman Villain movies and it would not only expand the Batman Universe but also make superhero movies more likable. I hate to see that Jokers sequel is a flop.

I've actually often felt that act 2 of the stage version moves a bit too quickly at times, probably so as not to put too much of a strain on theatre-goers. But if the material they add is largely in act 2, I'm totally fine with it. I hope we'll see more about how Nessa governs munchkinland, how Elphaba is trying to help the animals across the land, how the witch-hunters actually storm her castle, how Elphie captures Dorothy etc.

I think the movie looks good. I’m gonna watch this and Sonic 3 on the same day in theaters. Both movies I feel should be watched in theaters and if I wait to watch them at home I feel like I’m gonna be robbing myself of the whole theatrical experience. I can’t wait to watch Mufasa and Sonic 3 in theaters.

Sonic movie is not a trilogy, there will be 4th movie. And this trailer do not show entire movie. Do you know what will happen to the world? Do you know how heroes will defeat villains? Do you know who is real villain here. And so on.

In the campaign, they did go to the Hells, but for a different reason (to permanently kill a devil who kept trying to murder them). Knowing vaguely what is coming (they are making some changes), I can promise you... the characters are going to be put through the wringer this year, and no one will be the same. the best (although bittersweet) news is that Lance Reddick was able to complete his lines as Thordak before his untimely passing.

With Alexandre Aje, and the producers of Strangers Things and Shawn Levy as producers, I am pretty sure this will be entertaining. The probability of this film being bad, is low given the pedigree of the producers attached here.

Agatha... The Covenless Witch' - The Soft Menace in his voice is EVERYTHING. I adored your reaction!!! I know everyone thinks that Audrey Plaza is the villain, but my theory is that it's actually 'Teen', played by the Amazing Joe Locke (We all know who he really is, but I'll be nice and call him Teen). Like Agatha was manipulating everything in Wandavision, I think 'Teen' the one who will be responsible for 'the bodies piling up', though Agatha will be blamed due to her past. 'Teen' is a relatable Villain though, because he's just desperate to make it to the end of the road and is willing to sacrifice them all for the thing he wants the most.

So, I am definitely excited for this film. I think the story of Batman's Villians has been needed to be told from their angle for awhile. I really like Joaquin Phoenix and his ability to act. I am excited to see Lady Gaga on the big screen, she's an amazing preformer and musical artist. My theory is that Harlee will be imaginary but also rooted in reality in some unknown way.

i give it a 3 it seems different enough because the monsters aspect and when they did the slideshow thing at the end i see a magic like character from wonder woman so i see this being ss but magic and monsters.

Wicked the musical is very fast paced. I think they wanted more time to develop characters and relationships. They didn't want to cut any songs and are adding two additional songs. They are also bringing in elements from the book that aren't in the musical.

Alright Stephen, here's the MFin tea. Twister is an excellent movie. It's sophisticated, it has a good plot, both the setup and the resolve are satisfying, it's quotable, the characters are well balanced and relatable(Rip Billy the extreme and Dusty), and OH yeah the special effects are good. They chased for science and to improve warning/lead times. This is something that chasers used to do before, kind of like Mt Everest became way too commercialized. Twister put OKLAHOMA on the MF'IN map for movies. Suddenly we weren't some country bumpkin chicken fried steak eatin langston jeans wearing place with the biggest EPA disaster in North America (Picher OK), we were also a place for good media. Twister has left a small but awesome legacy as there is a museum for its props in Oklahoma and I've seen Dorothy personally at The Norman NWS OK Weather Festival. Twister is HOW you do a disaster movie. We care about the people and their success. We get to spend time with them and their drama and we become them through our own experience of life. It wasn't all about the tornadoes, it was about rooting for the little victories along the way. I'm a weather buff. Weather and learning about it makes me excited. Twisters has really big shoes to fill if it's gonna be a good film. Way too many sequels follow the path of their predecessors without exceeding expectations or expounding on the given material. A good example of a sequel should dig into its roots and allow the fruit of the story ample time to ripen rather than to miracle grow that bitch and then flounder when the end product was rushed. Twisters needs to be storytelling-heavy and be grandiose in the delivery of all of its parts if it's gonna work. I suspect it'll be a good popcorn film but because they're looking for cash rather than storytelling, it'll get out shadowed by its superior Twister any day of the week. 3/5 buttery pumps.

Whilst I'm not a fan of comic books besides Calvin and Hobbes, I am a fan of Superhero Movies. Both Marvel and DC have bloated the entire market from the 2010's and it's clear that they're going to keep churning these carbon copies out. You made a great point where we, the audience, can't even keep up with the storyline and the potential just sits on it's hands. I hate to say it but I have reached the point where I don't watch superhero movies anymore unless they're relevant to me. Guardians of The Galaxy is what DCEU should've done to it's series. They could've taken well known relatable and grounded characters and made them into a good storyline. It could've been done like the old 60's cartoons where everyone was there and the bad guys were released upon different protaganists to see how they would handle a different threat than they're used to. This being said, I liked the new Batman movie just fine. I thought the main actor did a good job and the movie was likable enough that I would watch it again. I hate that they can't just do what early simpsons did and find a formula that works but change it just enough that it feels refreshing. All this aside, I am just over the articifical flavoring that is the superhero movies and sequels of past movies and CGI remakes of Disney Movies that I grew up with. I want movies made with love not with haste. I love your channel and your indepth abilities to delve into these topics with a tone of hilarious but seriousness. You do an awesome job on making these videos and I look forward to each and every one that you make because they're fun. Thanks for the insightful truthfulness of this topic.

Hello Buttered Popcorn! I loved the Top Ten List you have provided. I did not get around to seeing half of these films on your list, for one reason or another, but The Barbie Movie is my absolute favorite film of 2023. Not only did it talk about deep and dark topics eloquently, it exposed many great characters in the film that were different for inclusivity. They made it a fun and grand adventure and my only gripe was Will Ferrel because even though he's a good actor, his part could've been cut out and it would be the same movie. I have placed "I'm Just Ken" and "Dance The Night Away" on my music list just to jiggle every now and then because those songs invoke great joy. I was also a fan of Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 and I was soo happy to see that they're doing sequels right in that franchise. Rockets story was impactful and resembles a lot of the abuse I went through as a child where I was told I wasn't doing enough and I had to continue pouring from an empty glass. I appreciate any movie that can not only touch me but isn't preachy in nature and this was a defining factor in me liking this film. Loved the action sequences and how the characters are a family too but Rockets story was cry worthy. Super Marios Brothers ended up being a nostalgic blast. When Nintendo gets it right, they're good at what they do best. It was a funny film that was easily digestible and it did the Ready Player One story better. The animation, the fight scenes, and the jokes were all spot on. For 2024, I am excited for Kungfu Panda 4, Mean Girls, and Twisters. All three of these films look promising and I am thrilled to see if they make the mark that I think they will. Happy New Years.

Hey Buttered Popcorn, the first Aquaman Movie was so boring and I'm sorry that they couldn't make a sequel work. Aquaman has been underwhelming, and not to look at (Jason especially), and it's clear that they didn't have much content fleshed out when it comes to these movies they've been releasing. Ultimately, I doubt I'll watch this one. I am excited for Superman Legacy though.
