    Question for ya if you don’t mind. I have a new home about a year and a half old. I found a spot in our playroom where water seems to be leaking in under the trim. Ive been outside while it’s raining just to try to figure out where the water is getting in. No window or anything near. Water isn’t hitting that wall severely or anything. Builder came out and I think he thought I was lying to him. I think it only comes through on real heavy rains.

    Fairly new. I have 20 paid inspections under my belt. No problems so far (knock on wood) My question is how do you get a report to the client when you finish? Mine take hours. Always get it to them that night though. The company i am with uses Whisper Reporter. Any suggestions on how to get faster?

    Damn, I just liked and subscribed only to find out there aren’t anymore videos I can watch. Hope you make more soon! Unrelated, but would you happen to know if I could be a licensed home inspector as well as a roof salesman? Or is that a conflict of interest? I’m currently in roofing but I’ve noticed many new builds with problems that aren’t storm related. I even had a guy try to hire me to do his home inspection from things I noticed after a hail storm but I told him that I wasn’t licensed.

    Thanks for the video! I’m considering getting into home inspection, but I’m wondering how practical it would be to do it as a ‘side gig’ while working a full time job? So I’m talking only weekends, something like 1-3 inspections per week. How flexible is this job? Is it on your own time? How long does an average inspection plus entering the data etc. take? Am I stupid for thinking I can just do this for extra cash?

    • @westtexashomeinspector
      @westtexashomeinspector 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lars526 very flexible. I would recommend just going full-time. Not to discourage you from trying it out but for someone who does this full-time, I personally would rather have everybody doing it 100% and not taking away work from people who need it to support their families. I don’t say that as a point of contention with you, I say it as a point of encouragement. Honestly, you can make really good money doing this full-time where you don’t need anything else at all. I learned that the first year.

    As a woman its funny when i point out an easier way to accomplish a task. Ill give an example, but i would 100% do this any chance i got on a job. My work we boil bagels and bake them. Bagels go in big kettle, scooped out onto boards (over a trough) to be loaded into the over. Once too much cornmeal got into the kettle for us to drain it so we resorted to emptying it out with buckets. But everyone starts walking them across the room to dump it into the mop sink. I pointed out that it could be dumped into the trough less than 2 feet away, solong as we didn't clog it with cornmeal too.
