New cat wheel loader Impressive sir

I loved my '85 GN back in the 90s when I was in my 20s, when it ran, that is...lol. I would take her to IRP, where I lived in Indianapolis, to drag race it on their quarter mile track. I had a guy named Lee Thompson up in Anderson, IN, who professionally built and raced T-Types, to rebuild my motor and tune it. Afterwards, it kept tearing up the transmission until I found a guy to build it right. I surprised a lot of Vettes, 5.0s, Camaro SS, and WS6 Trans Ams back then...lol.

Looks like a lot of loader for that small operation

Kennecott Copper took down a mountain in the Bingham Canyon district, extracted millions of tons of copper which pretty much wired up the national power grid. Now we need four times as much copper to upgrade our national grid. Thats what these huge machines are good for.

Just think of all of the people who are involved with this huge machine.......From the Cat employees who assembled it, their suppliers, support organizations, the customer and all of the people who they represent, but most of all the people who benefit from the work accomplished by these huge machines.......Serious business and good luck to all.

In the early 1990’s I worked at Keen Transport in Decatur IL and helped shipped my fair share of Cat products 😊😊

52 seconds in, why not load the machine up and get a bladeful rather than carry a half bladeful in probably third gear to make it look fast, so many blokes need to learn to fill a blade

Blades need tipped back for slot dozing, they are carrying about half the dirt they should be.

ugh... WHY did they use that style hood over the engine?!?! that's the WORST to work on!!! see how the 980 hood is ONE piece and it opens up COMPLETELY with the push of a button ! but this 986 has a TINY access door on top of the stairwell, this sheet metal nightmare takes HOURS to get out of the way to work on the engine! and they should have made the stairs SWING OUT like the landfill compactors do! epic FAIL! yuck
