Nicosia UN Buffer Zone Student Protest
15 November 2024 marks 41 years since the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus declared independence from Cyprus effectively separating the island into the Greece Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot sides. The conflict in Cyprus, especially relating to the United Nations Buffer Zone and ceasefire line is very complicated. Students took up protests at the border, or what Cyprus just calls as check points.

I was there! You can see me putting a flare on the Turkish occupation flag. If you have any questions about the movement or the history of the student organisation let me know I’d love to talk about it!
What do the flags represent? Why do I not see any Cypriot flags?
Hi everyone! I accidentally wrote “Turking Republic of Northern Cyprus.” I edited the video very quickly and missed that error. I meant to write the proper name “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.” This was entirely on accident and not meant to be malicious. I sincerely apologize to the Turkish Cypriots, those living in northern Cyprus, and anyone who may feel offended. I will do better in the future
Of course you wouldn't want to offend the Turks who stole our land, ethnically cleansed the native Cypriot people, replaced them with Turkish Settlers, and then illegally declared on our land the so called "trnc", which is recognized by no country other than Turkey itself. But you seem to have no problem to offend the Cypriot people, by agreeing with the invaders and occupiers of our homeland.
@@thcyprusall I said was I apologize for my spelling error. I did not make any statement besides that I do not take geo political stances.
I got hired as a driver a few days ago I’m terrified 😂 I’ll have to go through a few weeks of training before I’m set loose.
Good luck! You’ll do great. Hopefully you’ll be start of the great drivers
Greyhound has sucked for years.
They need to get their act together
Rosenborg Castle is great, but you just showed us Christiansborg Castle.
I may be the dumbest content creator that exists 💀
I used to ride greyhound a lot from about 1971 to 1992. I'd sit in the back and drink liquor and sleep good.
lol how times have changed
Engine on bus is in the back😂😂😂😂😂
WOW WOW WOW
It’s rly cool
Use to do NYC - Tallahassee, FL every summer until I was 18. 24 - 28 hours on a bus was enjoyable (in the 80's) as a kid, after that not so much.😊
wow that is a longgg journey. haha yes as i kid the excitement of heading down to florida. but once you are no longer a kid, if price is close i am taking amtrak in a heartbeat
Thanks,🙏i love the top chair umpire Marijana Veljovic👑from Serbia sooo much- ☺🥰
Was she the one for the Fognini match? Whoever was the chair umpire handled that situation incredibly well!
@@landonkissell Yes!, she was, Thanks ☺
What time of year did you go? We will be taking this tour in July. TY for this excellent overview video. 👍😁
I went on the last day of June. Weather will be perfect for you in July and you will enjoy it! And glad my video was useful for you
Well we used to have Greyhound AND TrailWays
didn't even know we had multiple companies. hopefully megabus will be able to compete with greyhound moving forward to force greyhound to have to improve
Which seat did you pay for and how tall are you?
I paid for a seat, i think I paid about $10 for the window seat. And short...only 5'8 which makes comfort a little easier lol
Great vid 💯🇵🇦🌎
Thanks!
Amazing, beautiful view, thanks we enjoyed watching your video, beautiful country
Acatenango is one of the most memorable experiences of my lifetime! Thank you for watching!
yeah the seats suck uncomfortable and the Wi-Fi sucks it limits you to 100mb but says free WiFi on bored
the wifi is did not work one bit. and my charger for my phone did not work either :(
I prefer Amtrak more than Greyhound.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Agreed!
Like that Giants winter hat
love how you picked that up
I’m taking this bus tomorrow night lol
How was it im taking one on Friday
@ it was fine didn’t have any delays. I was lucky my route only stopped at Newark and Philly b4 Pitt
How did it go?
How did it go for you?
And wait never mind I see your response now. Glad that it went smoothly and you did not have any delays! Smooth easy route Newark to Philly
I love El Salvador, I can't wait to go back. The people are Awesome!
It is incredible! And so glad you love it too! I am hoping to return soon
The problem with greyhound is its employees! They SUCK! Rudest, nastiest, most unhelpful I have ever seen. One driver literally yelled his announcement like a drill sergeant. These employees have to go! If greyhound entertains any hope of staying in business, they are going to have to do something about it. Employees (mostly black females) dropping F bombs and yelling at passengers like they are prisoners. NEVER AGAIN!
I was there last December. Beautiful. Especially walking the Cinta Costera.
Glad you enjoyed it too! I will definitely be back :)
Hi! Marina Hrabar is here for you!
?
You can be a football (soccer) commentator! Great job!
That would be such a cool job. I love football. And thanks!
Hermosa ciudad de Panamá. Moderna.
🙌
I've done many 8-10 hour bus trips from NYC to uostate NY, Maine, and Canada. And when I was a student a good number between NYC and Chicago. All fine for the price. But I dont think my body could take more than one night on the bus. I like the mix of people. Generally the passengers are more polite than on planes. Bus travel can be a bit uncomfortable but airports and planes are far more stressful. I think the US inter-city buses do a great job moving a huge number of passengers at low prices.
Megabus?
@@thomasburke221 Have used Megabus, but mostly Greyhound, Trailways, and Peter Pan.
😂😂😂 aquel maje le tiro la camisa😂😂
Jaja es verdad
If you have a female driver expect to be treated like a pos. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and she demanded a whisper. I was already on 6 hours and with an empty bus I was the only one sitting next to another with plentlt empty double seats. Normally they dont mind ppl spreading out adter check in/ seat check but she was a B. Luckly my neighbor was a smaller person like me and very smart and sweet, plus pretty. We talked for 8 hours. She threatened many times we could be heard by others but we were literally leaning on each other loud whispering over the road noise. I would have moved to any empty row but my neigjbor almost turned up on her at the start and I was like its ok we need this ride both of us on emergency. Long story short after 2 hours we said fuck her n talked quietly for 8 hours and we shared life trials and stories. People never said a thing but the guy in front if us snorted so loud every 30 seconds we were gunna loose it if we could just be humans. Awrsome tale and we are now friends!
Is this part of his tour
Delorean cars where made here in the early 1980s.
Is that a European specific car company?
Went NY to LA as a kid in the early 60's. No fond memories of that trek
That must have been brutal 😭
I traveled on Greyhound from Charlotte to RVA last week. The ride was just okay but the driver barked at me for arriving at the last minute and told me that I was "lucky" to be able to board. My seat neighbor said that the previous driver was awful berating some of the passengers (admittedly a rowdy crew) & being somewhat unpleasant. I don't think Greyhound believes in customer service.
That brutal to hear. Yeah you are right about Greyhound not believing in customer service. Everyone who rides it seems to have some nightmare experineces
This is a dumb idea for a video. You don't have to make a video about everything. Have more respect for people's time.
Ok lol
I seriously don't get what anyone sees in Denmark in general. im born here and its so boring and scenery is just flat, people are reserved, climate is bad 8 months of the year. i would never visit Denmark for tourism. now living here is different, its good to raise a family here, its safe and schools and hospital visits are paid through salary tax. you don't have to worry here.
Are you Danish by blood?
Have you found that the recent influx in tourism that last decade has done a lot of harm? Rise in prices especially relating to housing, food, goods and services, etc?
@@yusefkhan1752 no, I'm from Bosnia by blood!
@@landonkissell no, not really its not bad outside the capital. but the influx of immigrants has done a lot of harm. and the average dane is tired of it.
@@1DEROBO are you Muslim?
Ever been to Venice? That looks empty compared lol
Venice has gotten CRAZY! Especially now with the tourism tax they have implemented. I have not been to Venice. If I am given the opportunity I will happily go...but I do not think I will be there any time soon.
The coin is not a bolivar is BALBOA, Bolivar is in Venezuela
Oops my bad. Thx for the correction
2019 I took the Dog from New Orleans to Lakeworth Florida , I'm from Scotland and I loved every minute of my journey ,the people I met were friendly and cheery , I never slept a wink , only because it was a new experience , yes I would do it again.
I’m glad you had a good experience! And how are buses in Scotland? I’m living in the UK next summer (Liverpool) and was wondering if trains or buses are better there?
Go back to New York then, whinging on about the number of tourists while being a tourist, jeez, I’m heading there next week and I hope I don’t meet anyone as miserable moany bollocks as you,
Landon where are u from?
New York 🇺🇸
8:00 yes we smokers do need to stop at least every couple hours
so do you all just not fly then?
@@landonkissell not with the price of airfare in Canada lol
@@CoreyHaynes-f1h fair enough
So, most of your videos feature *you* w/the places you are visiting in the background, talking out of breath. Ppl want to see what you're experiencing, NOT YOU! GoPro cameras are ok; but filming glasses are better. Invest in a pair of Meta Ray-Bans, so you can film what you see while you walk through places, don't talk about what you are seeing at the moment; instead, film it and when you edit your video, talk about that experience and include a bit of history too. Maybe that way you'll get more subscribers
Those meta ray bans would be awesome. I’ve wanted to start some walking tour videos and other content like that. Unfortunately those are just beyond my reach in price point for me to buy right now
I'm a bit sad I discorevered your channel 3 months later, but that the algorithm I guess. Im fromGuatemala, and I been wanting to climb Fuego. Glad you got the opportunity.
I hope you get the opportunity to soon! It was without a doubt the most physically challenging thing I’ve done in my life…but sooo worth it. And I’m so glad you found my video!
you forgot LEGO ;O)

That clip got a little chaotic where I was throwing in a bunch of stuff into the chapter. Ya ngl…not my best editing job with this one
"Malmø over Copenhagen"...lol.... noone, not even inhabitants of Malmø would think that is a real statement anyone has ever said
Seems like you’re from Copenhagen. When I was in Malmo I spoke to two people who used to live in Copenhagen but are thrilled they’re out now

Lol yeah it was a pure beat down
Very unfortunate you decided to come during the worst state of this derby when Partizan is at their lowest. You should come back in a couple of years when Partizan goes back to normal and experience a better atmosphere.
I’m definitely coming back another year to see the true intensity. It’s a shame I had to see it when Partizan supporters were boycotting. If I went to the basketball derby will that live up to the hype?
Go zvezda
The Zvezda fans were awesome
