Belgrade's Best Museums
Belgrade has many incredible museums that you need to check out. Some of my favorites include the Museums of Yugoslavia, Serbia National Museum, Nikola Tesla Museum, Ethnographic Museums, and Tours Beneath Kalemegdan. These museums give you an in-depth understanding of the history of Serbia, from the time of Byzantine Empire until today. For a history buff, there is a lot to check out in Belgrade, Serbia

One Day in Novi Sad | Serbia's MOST BEAUTIFUL City

Nov Sad, Serbia Travel Vlog | Novi Sad is Serbia's most beautiful city that is also extremely charming, and fun. Novi Sad is vibrant too. Novi Sad has a mix of primarily Austro-Hungarian architecture in the city center, and the Yugoslav architecture around the residential areas. So many museums exist in Belgrade, but people mostly visit the Nikola Tesla Museum, the National Museum of Serbia, and the Museum of Yugoslavia. In addition to the ones you mentioned, we also have the Teaching Museum, Medical Museum, Science Museum, Museum of Illusions which is awesome, the Palace of Science which is awesome, the Museum of Chocolate, Railway Museum, Military Museum, Museum of Serbian History, Post-Telegraph-Telephone Museum, Museum of Paja Jovanovic (painter), Museum of Ivo Andric (Nobel prize for literature winner), Museum of African Arts, Museum of the First and Second Serbian Uprisings against the Ottomans, the Museum of the Banjica concentration camp from WW 2, Airplane museum near the airport (under reconstruction), Museum of Contemporary Arts, the privately-owned Zepter Museum, etc.

    Very well done, indeed! Upbeat, informative and well presented, even as a Belgrader I enjoyed it very much. Though for a foreigner it may be a bit too quick and packed with information, with a picture thrown in here and there that actually does not belong to the ongoing presentation. Sava-mala used to be the busiest part of Belgrade in the past and it still has a lot of charm. I suggest that you go to the area next to and around "Bristol" hotel and Brankov bridge all the way to Beton-hala, you won't be dissapointed. From those points you can take stairs up to Zeleni venac, Kosanchicev venac (I reccomend it wholeheartedly!), Kalemegdan park and Belgrade Fortress, or proceed along the Line park and Danube river toward Dorchol. Belgrade Fortress also has a lot more to explore. Lastly, wait for the spring and Belgrade becomes a real beauty!

    Ok, one last comment, i agree that nationalism can lead into right wing ideology, but you are still basing your left/right on american culture wars which really has a purpose to confuse the peasantry and distract them from the class warfare being waged against them. Serbia has universal healthcare and free college education. That is as left wing as you will find in capitalism and is completely out of allowed bounds for american politics. Noone has ever been this left in usa. But serbia is also socially conservative in that families are important and they stick together, and trans athletes are not really a thing that anybody worries about. Because that is also a distraction, it affects like a dozen people in usa, the important issues are can people find work, and when they do, can they afford to send kids to daycare with whatever their pay is, because if they cant, then they and their kids together are on the way to homelessness. Homelessness is a political choice in a system. Ask yourself how many homeless have you seen in Serbia, and then try again to answer who is more left USA or Serbia.

    • @landonkissell
      @landonkissell วันที่ผ่านมา

      You are right in your analysis. Serbia has some liberal programs especially in terms of healthcare and college, and conservative ideas like with the family, and especially the nuclear family. It’s clear though that geo-politics in serbia trumps all in importance of issues. Issues relating to of course Kosovo, but also Russia, China, EU integration, overall west etc. Serbia takes extremely conservative stances (in terms as what’s considered moderate for the developed world). While just because Belgrade seems far more liberal than cities like Niš, doesn’t actually make it a liberal city in comparison to the European landscape. Didn’t say anything was wrong with it

    there should be a ton of chinese restaurants in serbia. maybe search for "kineski restoran" in google maps :) its showing a lot. There used to be one pretty good in down town, was there for decades, but that one does not seem to be there any more. but a lot of new ones have opened, and it makes sense, there is a lot of chinese doing business and building stuff in serbia. They may not be the same as american ones, though, like you cant really find fettucine alfredo in Italy (actually these days you probably can because of the tourist demand to eat "authentic fettucine alfredo", lol).

Apart from my Mrs living in Nis and in part why I am moving there, if i wanted multiculturalism, I'd move to Belgrade or Novi Sad and it is something I am moving away from. Yugoslavia still exists, at least by the definition of Southern Slavs. Plus, I still call myself Yugoslav though moving to Nis from Sydney, Australia. With dad from Cro, mum from BiH, married a Serb yet sound Slovenian, what else am I other than Yugoslav? If someone wants to argue that, I could always say I'm Aussie by birth. if that doesn't make them happy, then I can always say I am half Schvab. All of which are true. Yet in my heart and soul, I am Yugoslav. A place is beyond just physicality. Out of most ppl, I prob have one of the broadest backgrounds. From here, whatever anyone else wants to debate with me, I have zero interest as my time and life are way too important.

It's reminder monument for the fallen serbian rebels who stood up against Ottoman empire for their fight for freedom and liberation from slavery under turks! The sculls are all scarified serbian rebels, and turks made by force leather skillers scalping their relatives or friends, they cried doing it. Turks made this tower to fright serbs, in controrary they made serbs more rebellious to get free from turkish tyranny! You should read more about Serbian history! @@landonkissell He has support of ~30 of the electorate, this is a fact. My humble analysis is that 10% are blackmailed with their jobs in government and various public services (schools, hospitals, etc.), 10% brainwashed via MSM, and the remaining 10% is the criminal core that is in Vucic's party, people who live off various forms of racket and their paid bots. BTW, Vucic is sponsored by "the empire", much like Macron, Trudeau, and Biden, but hopefully that is about to change ;-)

    It is not the memory politics that the buildings are kept like that in the city center. They are radioactive because of "dirty" bombs they were hit with, and it makes them very difficult to work on. Any activity can raise radioactive dust, imagine what would full on demolition do. Those were by the way military headquarters buildings, that is why are they guarded.

    • @landonkissell
      @landonkissell 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Buildings in Belgrade do not have any radioactivity left. Only ones that night are in southeast Serbia. If there was any radio activity giving then the media building wouldn’t still be in use with some section of the bombs. And there’s no doubt it’s still there just for memory

    How do you see Kosovo in the future and do you think Serbians have any chances to take it back?

    • @landonkissell
      @landonkissell 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I do not foresee Serbia gaining control control Kosovo again in our lifetime, if anything I think it’s actually far more likely that Serbia normalizes relations and recognizes kosovo. Only way kosovo will become part of Serbia again will have to be through military action, which will result in a war. If that happens america will become involved and Serbia will with almost certainty lose that war (unless it becomes a proxy with Russia and at that point it’ll become like a korean battlefield and Serbia and Kosovo will both be leveled) Just my thoughts on what’s the most likely

      @@landonkissell po rezoluciji 1244 Kosovo je i dalje Srbija, Srbija ima pravo vojno da povrati ali i mirnodopskim putem. Ja se nadam mirnodopskim, trebao bi da istražiš istoriju srba sa Kosova i kao su albanci do skoro postali većina, genocidom nad srbima albanskih visokih zulumćara i bašibozuka u Ottomanskom carstvu, ratnim zločinima albanske fašističke nacističko-kolabracionističke većine u drugom svetskom ratu, represijom Titovih komunista, sve se to događalo i istina je na našoj strani svako ko dobije nepravedno svoju zemlju na krvlju starosedelaca koji su na Kosovu izgradili svoju naciju kroz Hristov zavet, je osuđen na propast! OTETO JE PROKLETO! KOSOVO JE SRCE SRBIJE! NEMA PREDAJE! KAD SE VOJSKA NA KOSOVO VRATI! DOGODINE U PRIZRENU!
