The Oblates
Ireland
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 มิ.ย. 2008
We are a community of missionaries, working along side lay people within the church to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Poor.
#alwaysclosetothepeople
Where are the Oblates today and what do they do?
Over 4000 Oblate priests and brothers are to be found today in more than 60 countries of the world. Oblates from Ireland and the UK are missionaries in Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, United States and Canada.
Oblates exercise very diverse ministries but above all seek to dedicate themselves to the poor and abandoned. One can thus find Oblates in Britain and Ireland working in parishes, in missionary formation, preaching, social justice and pastoral ministries, or prisons. “No ministry is alien to us as long as we never lose sight of the main purpose of the Congregation: the evangelisation of the most abandoned.”

The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Friday 18th October 2024
Good morning friends. We invite you to join Frankie MacDonald in Scotland for our prayer today, Friday 18th October, of the 28th Week in Ordinary Time, the feast of Saint Luke.
Gospel | Luke 10:1-9 ©Your peace will rest on that man
Frankie reflects: "Today's gospel shows that some conditions experienced by the early Christians have not changed in that the human resource required to evangelise is still thin on the ground. It illustrates for me that Christ's message and teaching comes through the medium of very ordinary people who are totally transformed when the answer God willingly and accept their new life as disciples of Christ."
Thank you for joining us this morning.
