Mike is on fire in 2024 still sounds great !!
I am not a fan of solos for the sake of it (within a song is different, most of the time). This one is no exception. It is almost impossible to do a drum solo that I like. And even MIke, who I consider possibly the best drummer I know (along with Shannon Larkin of Godsmack) did not succeed in that regard. A recommendation for a much less known, but very good drummer i would like to share is Paulina Villareal (The Warning).
Not impressed really
literally I could play this 🤣🤣🤣
May I suggest Mr Jeremy Spencer, (EX FFDP drummer) no better player of Double Bass drums than Spencer.. Charlie (The Engine) Engen (Current FFDP DRUMMER), is very close second, and mike wengren is right behind him. Three amazing double bass warriors..
Why are MIKEs so good in drumming? Oh my goodness, love them all. Portnoy, Mangini and Wengren.
So simple but it sounds so amazing 😍😍
Baterista mediano
His base drumming patterns are brillliant
...I'd do it for free😁🤘
Dude to be able to record or just be in that position to experience this would be AWESOME!🤘
Mike is definitely top 3 drummers ever...although the guy is and can be fast, great drummers are not defined by speed only...its stupid to even consider speed over anything else
idk if i'm tripping but I hear immortalized in the first minute of the beat
Got the best metal groove¡!!!!!👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Vanilla
Well that was borrinnggg
Ok now i wanna see him do some blast beats lol
One of the most basic solos I've seen. Man I was expecting way more. :(
I don’t care about the solo. He can do what he wants. But those cymbals sound like total shit LOL.
Fucking love his filla
AWSOME!!
Pretty sure Justin Bieber can play better than that 😂😂😂
Djgeraghty Fuck Off!
majic dude but he literally can, look it up. Jb is a dumbdick but he can play some damn drums
Explosion Pvp Dude like I said look it tf up, he's much better. Like by far. Disturbed is like my top 3 favorite bands, I'm not hating. It's just a simple fact. Can't deny it
it's alright but I feel like I could all this, I hope he's better than this in his songs. I've never liked his band. so this is the first time I've ever even looked him up for a drumming solo.
Clayton Brown Sometimes a performance isn't about skill, but about putting on a show for an audience.
ya I know that but sometimes drum solo don't need to be a part of a show
oh god, Mike is freaking amazing.
you are really great, loved it
Awesome drumming!
this is a wonderful drum solo i love the beat.
like Mike's Tribe beats! \m/
Tribal Drummer
It pulls at such a core level. Crazy how heavy a sound they made with the slow tambour of his playing style. I figure it speaks alot to why there music always has the compulsion of a literal following. This is the rythm that teaches lessons.
He's a good starting point for entry level drummers. Or people who don't really know much about music. But if you want to get better at drums and play more technical metal you will pass him up...thanks for all your help like
I love Wengren, I love disturbed. But that solo was.... I mean... I was expecting MUCH more complexity. Seriously, in a year or two of drumming you could achieve what he does in the video. Still, great drummer, great band
Gab Ratté When at the actual concert, it's way more about the actual show value. After a night of beating the shit out of each other, this is a great way to get people pumped for the big end.
Your realise how old this is, right?
You're a year and half late for the conversation.
kelsorocs3 XD But still...
Drum solos at concerts are usually not as good as drum solos in clinics.
Disturbed needs to come back from their extra long vacation; make a new album, and tour again! I wish I had seen them in concert when they had come to Portland Oregon last...my #1 favorite band.
fightingfalconfan word!!
fightingfalconfan your prayer has been answered
Tavaman3 I saw; I can't wait!!
+fightingfalconfan "Disturbed needs to come back from their extra long vacation; make a new album, and tour again!" You filthy oracle! :D
They have, and are touring again...
Next to John Bonham's Moby Dick this is fucking bad ass with the double bass drums.
He's good but look up messhuggah bleed
I wish people rather then being so judgemental about how basic some of it is, would look at the bigger picture! It's crowd pleasing and that's all that matters :) mikes done so many different drum solos and this was from the believe album tour. So around 10 years ago! So all those who are calling it "shit" need to open your eyes a bit , and realise it's about playing to the crowd not playing to the critics
Give that man a Whole Lotta Beer!
LiamDarkCross lol beer is good :)
I prefer by far a drummer with a good groove than a speedy lost head!
This was very....shitty
Sonny Forelli Actually...it's not really hard to do at all. He's still a great drummer though.
what a demon!!! BIG UP!!
Love Disturbed but this solo is dull and primitive
Fucking love Mike! One of my favorite drummers x
A definate joy to listen to the little nuances he Applies within his riffs and the nice use of space, Unlike death metal. you can find a solid beat within all that syncopation. Peart is still the closest to buddy rich but wengren would be the new generations Peart.
New generation Peart....did I really just read that? No....just no...wrong
You got that right.
Yep. Especially when he throws the double kick pedal in with it.
how about the animal drum beat
awesome
Yeah I know them, they're also great. I played a song by buddy rich in school, it was a lot of fun. I was just excited when I watched this.
Now hold on just a minute... I agree that Mike is a talented drummer, but do you know who Neil Peart is? Buddy Rich? They are just some of the greats. I'm not saying Mike isn't on that list, I'm just saying he isn't the greatest drummer in the world. you can't really have a spot like that. They all have amazing talent, and are talented in they're own ways. Anyways, rant over.
Drum solos are made completely out of creativity...And Mike Wengren, definitely has it.
Agreed! Best drummer ever!
The guy's solid and I like playing disturbed songs more than I enjoy listening to them. He is no more than a good nu metal drummer at best. I just watched a drum solo from George Kollias before this... so watching this is kind of laughable.
His chops are decent. I love Mike's style and his ability to play what fits into the music, but he really isn't all that special. Another Way to Die really isn't all that difficult to play.
that drumtrack isn't really a solo, it's a recording progress of his piece for "a sing for chi"
