I’m cooking neckbones this weekend they were 1.99 lb which is pretty cheap comparing todays prices. I remember I raised my children in the 90’s/2000’s I would get family packs of neckbones 3-4$ for a family of four with leftovers. I love this inexpensive meal. I cook mine similarly. ❤

I switched from ham hocks to pork shanks cause they have much more smoky meat, usually at the same price per pound. Great video. I'll certainly try it. Thanks!😀

I bought a chuck roast today to make tomorrow. It is only 2.4 pounds, and cost $20! I can not believe how much they have gone up, but, I haven't made one in years. I started making pot roast when I was 12 yrs old, and it always turned out wonderful. ....I had never seared my roast before, though, and will try it tomorrow.... I had to watch to get a refresher course...lol....you make yours pretty much the way I did! God bless, and thank you!

I'm excited to try this recipe, can you explain why to use cooked rice and not pudding rice uncooked? Thank you!
In this recipe I would only use cooked rice, it blends better with the custard. Uncooked rice will make it too stiff and not creamy. But there are recipes that use uncooked rice, I am not a fan of those. This is t he way my mom made it and it's delicious. 🙂❤️
