It’s Thursday 23rd of January 2025. It’s sad 😔 😞 😢 to see these class 507s withdrawn from ME - Merseyrail. Oh well, they had a good 👍 😊 😌 life with class 508s as well. Now it’s the 4 car class 777s are with ME - Merseyrail. Rest in peace 🪦 class 507s and 508s. 👍
001 for onward travel to Derby.
There goes my child hood
Don't forget, 507028 is playing it's part in training future firefighters in Aintree
Oh, that's good to hear. By the way, 507001 is going for preservation, since it has the special livery.
With 507028, one driving coach was scrapped at Newport, the other driving coach and the middle trailer were driven back to Liverpool.
@@TheosTrainsWalesOfficial not necessarily, before the preservation society bought it, it would've gone to scrap like all the others
It was a very sad sight 😢
I carng believe there nearly gone
Blue
I'm on Southport line so still getting 507s - more so than the new trains - but will miss the 508s.
At least they're running the full 6 cars now rather then the 3 they were running for a good year or two
Nice mate I got 507011 Yesterday at Chester I have Subscribed 👍
Great train video. Thanks.Greetings Joe😊
That went very fast.
Yes 🙌, it’s goodbye 👋 to the 3 car class 508s train 🚊 are likely to be scrapped because they are getting old and are likely to be replaced by class 777 trains 🚆. All ME - Merseyrail trains 🚊 are standard class accommodation only and no toilets 🚽 🚻 on old class 507s, 508s and new class 777 trains 🚊 is because they are a limited short distance service that runs in the county of Merseyside and limited parts of Cheshire in the northwest of England 🏴. ME - Merseyrail runs it’s services everyday and public holidays except Christmas 🎄🤶 🧑🎄 🎅 Day, however perhaps 🤔 runs on Boxing 🥊 Day. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good catch and interesting info! How many 777s are currently in service, and on what lines do they operate? I'm a bit out of the loop on merseyrail
There are only a relative handful of 777s currently in service, on the New Brighton, West Kirby, Kirkby and Ormskirk lines. There are many parked up at various places on the network though, such as Southport and Kirkdale.
Do you know if 508111 is on the scrap move on monday?
What is scrap
Goodbye 👋 😢😢
Theyve given stirling service ,sad to see them go
Exellent catch
PEPSFORLIFE
RIP
Rest in peace
Another legend going
Do you know when the next merseyrail scrap move will be?
Should be tomorrow morning - either 0755 or 0956 departure from Birkenhead North depot.
man.
I'm surprised 507013 wasn't scrapped, i last saw it when it was vandalized on June 2nd, maybe it was cleaned up and returned to service instead!
The order of the units for scrap is primarily based on mileage and maintenance/overhaul requirements. If it was based on external condition/appearance, then I would agree 507013 should probably have gone by now. Usually graffiti is removed relatively quickly from the units - even from some of the ones already withdrawn and been sent for scrap.
@@mrcjw9 Even 507001 was graffiti'd recently, they can't just scrap each and every vandalized one i suppose-
Hauled by a loco older than either of them!
Rest in peace I am really annoyed to see them go
Is there still 40 odd on the network yes really sad seeing my childhood trains going for scrapp
How come there was a 9 carriage train
508126 & 508137 was a 6 car in passenger service, prior to coming out of service at Liverpool Central to couple & rescue 507020 (which has failed in the reversing siding), forming a 9 car service for the ECS move.
Goodye😢
Good time of day to take photos with the sun on them, it’s normally early morning when I walk down there, great video 👍🏼
Any chance of some footage from Crosby & Blundellsands station? At least that's what it was called growing up there in the 90s
YEAAA THROW THOSE TRAINS IN THE TRASH!!!! FUCK THE 507024!!! BIG UP NEWPORT!!! SCRAP THAT CRAP!
Farewell, old friends 😔
0:30 Emergency Stop?
That’s B3. Emergency you’d really hear the hissing.
@@Class777 Yeah, I've never seen a PEP emergency stop so I don't really know to look out for sadly
How do you know when to be there??
507 006 was taken by road to her demise because she was accident damaged at Kirkby in 2021 due to driver error and not considered economical to repair due to the imminent replacement by the class 777’s
It only seems like yesterday that that happened. Some of the lads that I work with were involved in the Recovery operation.
I was on this train just a few days before it got scrapped
I remember sitting on 508140 and it is just really sad to not see it on the rails anymore
R.I.P 507 & 508s thank you for all of the wonderful journeys you have given me.
Why don't the trains just drive themselves to where they're being scrapped?
Powered third rail electric
Yeah the majority of the route is overhead AC or non-electrified. Plus Rail Operations Group has a contract to operate the scrap movement with their fleet.
@@mar07in yeah but surely they can drive themselves to James Street, then get towed from there?
@@adambrough7969 What's the point though? Just inefficient and the changeover would waste timetabled allocated time instead of starting the scrapping part straight from the depot. It would also be logistically and politically convenient to make the entire process the responsibility of the Rail Operations Group fleet.
It’s such a shame to see the trains I grew up with going to scrap. Long live the 508
Passengers no more.....thanks for the video and the detailed information 👍
Vey nice

Superb video but I’m gonna really miss the class 507 and 508’s 😢😞

Why is there to train crashed together😢😢
