That size with stems is wicked

I’m curious if the A17 Pro supports memory swap. On my old iPad Mini, I run out of memory quickly when using sample instruments. I’d probably hit the limit with 8GB pretty fast too, if there’s no memory swap. Unfortunately, there’s no info on this yet.

I have Logic Pro on my 12.9 iPad and was in the market to finally buy a MacBook Air (I don’t own a laptop ) but sod it , after seeing this video I might just get the mini 7 instead and stay iOS. I know I’d be missing some features but it’s not too shabby an idea actually . Thanks for the video and bench test , Patrick.

Hello sir absolutely love your vids. I've got one question would it be worth to get m1 macbook for just logic ? I've got m2 ipad but I hate subscriptions that logics pro costs

The only good thing about it is its portability. For a £100 more the iPad Air M2 11” is a much better value.

I’m pushing my mini 5 a little further. Haven’t tried Logic yet, but started with Drambo which adapts itself well to this smaller screen. I assume Logic will be too much anyway.

One thing I can not figure out is how to export them but be able to open them on my Logic Pro on Mac. I followed the process but all file types seem to be greyed out on the Mac.

I’ve taken to using the Logic Studio pianos. They have so much character and can be tweaked a treat.

Is logic pro on the ipad air M2 strong enough to record 24 audio channels at once?

I bought Focusrite Scarlett 18i8. But I can’t seem to the monitor settings right. Headphones are good enough to control. But I really need to be able to control the loudness of noise that is coming out. As of now, there’s only one loud and consistent sound coming out through my speakers. I use ipad pro.

Patrick, if I buy a new M4 Mac Mini, can I run Logic Pro for iPad on it, since Macs are supposed to support iOS? Why would I want to do that? Simple. I have a lot of iPadOS plugins. It would cost me thousands of dollars to get equivalent Mac versions. COO is a concern (Cost Of Ownership).

Love Logic Pro X for the Mac and I would have bought it for the iPad had it not been a subscription. To me if you already have Logic Pro X on a MacBook or iMac there would be no need. I’m very happy to sketch things on Cubasis. I think all in all Cubasis is king.

Still no proper midi learn, it's unusable with midi controllers. Pretty much cripleware for anyone using it with hardware

Logic Remote support. To control Logic Pro X for iPad using another iPad or iPhone. Even if it means just for transport control and key commands, plus mixer etc.

People whining about the subscription. 60 bucks a year is insane value for this and it will be very actively maintained

Each piano has a different character, and they are all a bit artificial, so I pick the one that suits the music. Honestly some of the best piano sounds that I've encountered (outside of the very expensive ones) are soundfont based and free, but they have the cost of being massive in storage size and memory consumption, and quite often CPU, especially when playing complex passages.

For me, the logic pianos have a lot more character than pure, I was blown away when they released v2. The additional options and presets really bring the logic piano samples alive.

At the beginning of the video, you said Pure Piano by Emagic. The dev of Pure and Upright Piano is e-instruments. Emagic is the original developer (formerly known as C-lab) of Logic Pro for MacOS. Sorry to be this nitpicking Patrick, but I felt the urge to do so. About the pianos. I’ve got all of them (and a bunch more). They all sound great. They’re all worth it. Great video.

LP for iPad Studio Piano took me by surprise! I find it quite beautiful. No need to pay more

The differences are quite subtle but they do have their own different colours. At the risk of being called a fence sitter, I would suggest you get them all. After all, for the price, you can't really go wrong and that will give you more options depending on the sound you're looking for at that moment.

Apple has been talking about Logic Pro to influencers and their view is we're coming into a generation of people who grew up with tablet since they were toddlers that's what they think computing is all about. So Logic Pro on iOS is aimed at the tablet generation and DIY bedroom music makers. It's never going to replace full on Logic Pro on a Mac for serious work.

I wish that they would leave open a option to buy Logic Pro for the iPad if you can afford it but I do have a year subscription and yes, I will be renewing it. It is worth it.😅

I don’t actually mind the subscription model, but I do wish there was also the option for a one time fee. I love being able to start a full project on my ipad as a “sketch” and then take it to the home studio to add in the rest.

100% disagree as someone who owns several pieces of gear and plugins from several companies. Ill never use the app because its subscription based. I just bought a brand new iPad m4 pro also. I would love to check it out but im not getting robbed 5 dollars a month forever. I would gladly pay a one time fee of $200. Vs $180 over 3 years but then continuing on forever. So they get another $180 in 3 more years. So after 12 years you've payed them $720. Great deal for them. Oh but it gets better. Cause you're still gonna be paying them 12 years from then. See what im saying?
