Depends from state to state. In Maharashtra, it's compulsory. Most other states allow free exit, and you can participate in state r2 also.

@@beinghealedbybts3011 again depends from state to state. Usually those with free exit, do allow choice filling again. I can only suggest you to read the brochure thoroughly of the counselling that you attend.

You can. After joining air1, if you get better seat in state1, you can resign air1 seat. But It's not wise to join air1 seat if you are looking for upgradation in air2. In case you join, and don't get upgraded in air2, you will be stuck with the seat. And there maybe better seats available in mopup rounds.

As of now, Mcc hasn't officially said anything about state seat holders not being eligible. Until such notice comes, you are eligible to participate in ai mopup provided your state counselling rules allow it.

@@lkhjg1661 check your brochure on seat leaving penalty or if there's penalty on not joining the seat in R2 or till when you can resign your seat. If still in doubt, ask on the state counselling helpline number. As far as I know, in most cases if you don't join r2 seat in first place, you would only be out of the state counselling. No penalty or no limitation for taking part in other counselling. On the other hand, if you are trying to resign a seat you joined & not upgraded, then there might be issues depending on your state rules.

Mop up is so unpredictable. Most of those who didn't get any seat, may end up filling all the options that they previously did not. Positive shift or even negative shift, anything is possible

Yes, you can. You will anyways be resigning from R1 seat even if you plan to join the newly alloted R2 seat. If you choose not to join R2 seat, the deposit will be forfieted

I am expecting minimum 20% shift for md/ms, 10% shift for dnb. For example- If radio closed at obc 949 (category rank), then ai2 closing will bhi 1135-1150 (cat rank).

Mop up, can't guess at all. Will depend on whether people will leave all india 2 seat or not. Most of those who get dnb med won't be getting md med in state, so they are unlikely to leave. You can expect 10-20% shift in ai2. Mopup probably another 10%

I am expecting dnb paeds to close at 15-16k in mopup. So you will get an average Institute then. Let's wait for r1 results first.

Radiotherapy probably in mop up. Rehab hardly has few seats, and I don't know how many plan on taking it, I can't predict as of now. Based on last year, you should get rehab in 2nd round itself.

You have a good chance in aiq2 and state 2. For UR, last year's cut offs won't hold much value now. But wait for your sml, if it's good you will get in state 1st round itself.
