It may not seem like so but that father is the the real tough guy here. Alone against everybody, fending for his family, despite he's very wife not understanding his position. Powerfull.
I like how he equates ‘toughness’ with ‘consistency’ as in getting up in the morning to perform the same routine makes you ‘tough’. I mean yes, it can wear you down over the years, going to a job everyday but it’s not typical to equate it to the act of being tough.
You missed the point that, the scene was trying to make. The point of the scene was to explain that one can choose to simply kill for the mob and make money easily. The other guy being who provides for his family even when times are tough and gets up with the mental toughness to keep pushing forward to provide a better life for their family and children THAT is the tough guy. Not the bastards who choose to take the easy way in life.
How is it possible that Katherine Narducci has aged only 10 years in the last 30? She looks nearly as good in The Sopranos as she does in The Irishman, and only about 10 years older than here...She isn't even my type either but damn: what a woman.
Idk how C, even when he grew up, could still think his dad was a punk..the guy stood up to a dude that could put him to sleep with the fishes in an instant..Lorenzo was the true G..
Father knows best! If I was Lorenzo I would have explained myself more respectfully, diplomatically & carefully, all while thanking him for caring enough about C for encouraging him to go down the right path in life. Still firm, yet more polite & sensitive to the situation. And Sonny was sensitive enough to understand, appreciate & even admire Lorenzo & where he was coming from, even if Sonny didn't show that in front of his guys (trying to save face!). For I understand Lorenzo's fears & great displeasure, though if I were in his shoes I would have been much more tactful, cautious & measured, all while maintaining my composure & calm as I stated my case & made it clear that my son was not to be in that bar under any circumstances. That's just me. Great scene, great movie!
Prime example why you need fathers in every household. The mother out of fear of confronting Sonny or being open for the extra income was willing to tolerate her kid go down a bad path. The father was the firm hand and enforcer who did what was necessary, though scary and unpleasant, to steer his son in the right path. Mothers are nurturers and emotional pillows which kids need, but fathers are what keep kids steered in the right direction.
His son was pushing Webistics
When Sonny gets upset over Lorenzo saying he’s “my son” you can tell either Sonny wanted his own kid or really saw c as his own
Dinero is a piece of GARBAGE
WooooW
Amazing scene. One of my favorites
She snitched now she’s crying typical women

In today’s age we need more fathers like Lorenzo
Best movie of all time
This movie is just classic‼️
His father has such amazing values. Taking the money back even though it could help them but he knew it was bad money.
❤

His Consigliere kinda agreed with Lorenzo
Lets see him eat grilled cheese off the radiator for 20 years, then we'll see who the tough guy is. Sonny never had the makings of a varsity father.
Mother shouldve kept quiet
When men had respect for each other Now that poor guy woulda got shot for that

I bet if C sold that Micky Mantle card now it would pay his rent for many many years.
Ashley Martinez heart girl white red blue JOB Halloween day for you today but that is good new one two week ago
They definitely could have used the money
Honestly I don’t know why he didn’t just say he was giving all the guys in the bar coffee and they would tip him😂
My mother 🙆🏽♀️🙇🏽 told me me I might have kids one ☝️ day probably 4
Happy Labor Day!
THE KID ROCKED
Artie Bucco's wife

Apart from Deniro this is the worst acted film I’ve ever seen. Absolutely awful
Sonny without his men around, wouldn't have the balls to do this....
Paris
Mais que um filme um exemplo de vida . Aprendi muito com esse filme
It's literally the perfect movie. Not a single thing wrong it

You want me to take care of him? Nah leave him alone 💯
I honestly wholeheartedly believe this is the best Deniro scene ever shot, and that is saying one hell of alot.
No offense but damn his mom is ugly
“You want me to take care of it?” And that’s the reality of how quick these scumbags will hurt the average person.
And then lorenzo starts to make a living by robbing trucks with his gang
Me n my grandpa lol he’s the reason I believe in God and good instead of self preservation and self enrichment
😍😍😍
Kids NEED FATHERS!!!🙏.. powerful scenes👍👍
De Niro is a mensch
