I can understand the frustration. This video is now old and a new thing added is the shade will also not blow out any firelights. So another strategy is to put motion sensors in the doorway of the ghost room. Then stand in the room with your lighter on and or firelights in the room. If nothing gets thrown or no firelights blown (and the ghost has not left the room) then that is a good test. The reason for the motion is that if the ghost leaves the room, it could interact through the wall if close by and throw an object in the room you are in, making you think it is not a shade. Also, keep in mind if you have the lights on in a ghost room, no ghost can throw any items.

I don't tend to use them. If I do, it is usually to determine room boundaries and identity. However, they are better than before and there have been a lot of improvements in their accuracy. I would say it depends on your game play. I don't tend to stay in the van long, which is why I rarely use them. But you may want to listen to the ghost in the safety of the van using these. You could at least hear things like a polti multi-throw or Yurei door touch ability with them. In multi-player you can hear what is going on, including hunts and ghost speed if another player is inside the map.

Yes the newly upgraded sound sensors can pick up all sounds the ghost or players make in the game. This video was before the update.

What did the ghost do to make you believe it was a Yurei?

@@jrcash7546 yes if possible do the same with every item and ghost also make a playlist of the informative videos. Generate one or two a week and your channel will aggressively grow. Phasmaphobia foolishly hides all important information so channels like these are the only way to learn.

@@Jacknife17shadows Thank you for this honest feedback! I do have my videos in playlists. I hope they are showing in them, but I am still relatively new to YT. I also planned to do the other items in the game. However, as Phasmo was due to release their update (now overdue, and may come any day now) there will be significant changes to all existing items in the game. I wanted to wait for this before doing new videos. But they will come. I need to figure them out too! :)

@@jrcash7546 yes I agree you should wait for the update and then do continuous videos and shorts weekly. I followed your advice and was able to find the ghostroom so I saw potential in this style of gaming information. I have also followed your twitch. I just hope you don't use cringe dixper or annoying sound alerts haha.

A very good question. I am not sure the Shade doing these abilities would be recorded. As it does not drain sanity or teleport across a map or those sorts of abilities. I would have to test it. I guess it is more accurate to talk about its inabilities? 🤣

Also! I checked out your twitch and it looks like you pop out really good content! For your youtube, i really like how you take on this more informative tone of voice. It’s far less annoying to watch them some creators who scream their way through their tutorial videos. Nothing wrong with having fun but i much prefer this. A suggestion, for moments where you have us listen to the ghost, i would love to see a cut or maybe pausing until the full audio is played out. I noticed in a few of your special ability videos that you spoke a little too soon over the sound clips and i had to go back and rewatch. That’s just a personal preference for me. And last, a request (if you haven’t already, i’m still in the process of watching your videos), can you make a video about ways to farm experience/leveling before progression comes out? or maybe point me to somewhere i can read up on it? I know we only got like one more month so there’s not really any point 😂

Sound sensors could not distinguish whether a ghost changed room or just roamed there. You will find far more evidence inside more quickly than relying on a sound sensor to determine if it changed rooms.

If you are not getting sound readings where you used to for a while then a room change can be assumed correctly with a lot less risk. Sound Sensors are also useful for ruling out locations after a period of time and on a map like Bleasdale with three floors; you can place them in the middle of each floor and get useful readings

@@obliviouscat1976 You are absolutely right they can be useful to see if the ghost has moved floors. But keep in mind it requires you to go back in the van and watch the monitors. If you are inside smaller maps like Bleasedale, you are likely to hear the ghost throw something or interact on another floor to give you that indication before you would find out by walking back to the van and checking sound sensors. Just depends on your style of game play which strategy you choose.

Very very true, Sound Sensors are definitely a lot less useful without a teammate watching it in the truck but I think that is how the item is by design. I love your content and you have actually taught this Sound Sensor enthusiast a new trick to using them(finding the names of different rooms). I am really looking forward to those new Tiered Equipment

No the Jinn does not have to do an event to use its ability. And it does not drain 25% sanity when doing a ghost event, only when it is using its special ability which is always linked to the breaker being on. The Jinn can drain 10% sanity if an event hits you. The Yokai does not drain sanity by 20-25%. However, if you talk in game it causes the Yokai to be more active, which can cause it to do more events that can hit you and drain your sanity. It can also cause it to hunt at 80% average sanity. I hope that helps!
