E33: Sneak Peek house tour! Check out the interior design features of our modern lakefront home.

In this video, we're sharing a sneak peak house tour of our almost completed home! This house tour will show you the interior design features of our modern waterfront home. So far, we've completed most of the build process and are just waiting on many of the finishing touches (you know like toilets and showers, lights and heat!). Sean takes a tour of the house so far. There has been so much happening that we have been lax in our video production. Good show. Use of the cow pad is smart (they’re plenty tough, yet a bit spongy). While you’re doing your trailer pre-op check, you should check the torque on your lug nuts. This is also a good safety practice for your tractor lug nuts. The wheels on both tractor & trailer are subject to lots of vibration & therefore loosening. I mark the pressure & torque specs on all equipment wheels w/ paint marker so I don’t have to look them up each time I check them. Suggestion for securing your tractor to the trailer: use chains & tensioners instead of straps. Mytee products sells all sorts of tie down equipment at very reasonable prices. If you must use straps, get some strap guard “sleeves,” & use them wherever the straps touch metal. Metal will rub & degrade straps under load. The straps may eventually fail (ask me how I know…). Better to have your strap guard fail than your securing strap.

Got this saw to trim larger tree limbs ( 3 or 4 inches) from the ground. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHMc_g3gGUpXsBlcRniL7qDnlxwo192gi Plenty of power to do this job. I went with Dewalt because I have several 20 amp Dewalt battery power tools. Cut limbs very fast. Cut about 10 limbs. Saw chain is still sharp, used one battery charge . Unit is heavy when fully extended, but resting on a limb the saw weight helps cut the limb. Saw can be used at various lengths. I have several batteries charged up at one time but have not had to get a new charged battery for any of my tools doing small jobs around the house. Love this stuff. Saw chain should not be resting on the tree limb when starting the saw chain up.

I too have learned this lesson the hard way after extensive usage with my homemade pole saw. One solution I have come up with is to use an additional homemade branch “grabber” pole. This is longer and lighter than my pole saw. If I have an especially large or tricky branch, I will try to only cut it about 2/3 of the way then use my grabber pole with a large hook to grab it and pull it until it breaks off. I can do this from a safer distance away. Once broken off I will then make another “clean cut” removing a smaller few inch piece.

@@SeanandLisaBuildaHome Hi Sean, thanks for the info. I've seen that model, can't remember pricing. I do real estate photography for my wife, and was about to get a drone, but then laws kicked in, and now in any residential area, you can't fly unless you have a license. Sure you can take a chance, but if a neighbour complains then you have problems. For rural listings it's so much easier as nobody knows what you are doing, and once that drone is in the air, not many are going to even notice it is there ( lack of noise ). Views - yeah, that's the way it goes. Just keep doing what you are doing, if you enjoy posting content, keep at it, and people will follow. Good morning Sean ! Welcome home ! 1 vote up for Lisa on "frozen" hahaha ! That said, .....in this phrase "froze" is correct..... it was so cold today, I froze my a$$ off" LOL On the topic of chains, they do work and work well. From many sources, chains should only be used on the rear tires, if used on front tires you can potentially damage the transmission. I read this a few times on different tractor forums, so I will take their word for it. When I bought my BX, I had change put on the rear tires, - amazing traction. This year I was too lazy to put them on, and now I wish I had. H have generic chains for my tractor. If you check GPOutdoors, he has some good videos on chains he bought, they are amazing. They are hand welded with real claws that grab into the snow and ice. Price though - out of my price range, around $800 or higher depending on what type you buy. My Kubota dealer sells TRYGG brand chains, I may look into those one day. ( doubtful but maybe ) ... but yeah, just on a slight incline that I have on my property, - last year with the chains on, my BX went up the hill with zero problem, this year without the chains, it just slid. BTW - loved 13 minutes in..... it's really true Sean, boys will be boys and we never really grow up, I see how much fun you're having there driving into that compacted snow haha ! Last comment, - that snowblower makes your work so fast. Blow it once and it's gone. You never have to move it again. The other thing, - snowblower vs front loader shovel - as you drive along with the snow blower, you're never really pushing that snow much at all, it disappears as you drive forward, so the resistance is nill vs a front loader where that resistance becomes more and more as you push. I've seen a few youtube channels, where guys get so much snow and are using a loader, and you just want to go help the guy with your snowblower. (well I do haha ) I just don't get enough hours on my little BX. Anyway, nice seeing again ! hope you had a refreshing vacation Sean ! Thanks for the video oh oh oh !

I agree 100%. I have had relatively good luck without chains but feel they could be a game changer in the long run. I too watch GP Outdoors Chanel and love his content. I am almost positive that I see a front mount snowblower in my future. I like the idea of blowing the snow once and then never having to deal with moving snow banks etc. my biggest hope for the future is a nice garage to keep my baby warm and clean! As always thanks for the comment and the great advice.

Make your first cut from underneath and only go about 1/4 through the limb. Then finish your cut by moving the blade slightly closer to the trunk and cut from the top. This serves several purposes; the branch will snap off and fall to the ground without getting hung up, the saw blade will not get pinched in the cut, the tree will sustain less damage from the falling limb pulling bark away from the tree! Hope you're feeling better.

Great video Sean ! I wish I had the back hoe on my BX, but wouldn't use it much, but it's nice to see in action ! I hope you are doing better after the tree branch fell on you. ( for anyone wondering, Sean had a tree brand hit him - check his video for that ( posted Feb 11, 2022 )

I think it's important if you are making a video that you are honest and leave your mistakes in, like when I put bar oil in the gas tank of my saw. I could have cut that out of the video and not look like a dummy, but I was a dummy so I showed it. I'm glad you are ok! Be safe out there man.

Morning Sean, just watched the video. It's through videos like this, that others can be more aware of those invisible dangers just ready to happen. It will make me much more aware when cutting down what seem to be "just" branches next time I cut one down. What many don't appreciate is gravity combined with weight and distance. What seems to be a smaller branch, quickly turns into a much larger tree limb when it stars to fall and gather speed which introduces much more force upon impact. So yeah, thanks for posting this, and being honest. I think everyone will agree leaving that portion of the video in there, was a *good* thing for others to see and learn from. BTW, if listen carefully you can hear that tree branch hitting your helmet. If not for that helmet, I think things would have been so much worse. P.S. ⚠ Take a good minute, and inspect your helmet for any sign of cracks. I know from my motorcycle days, that even a small impact to a helmet, and you should change the helmet which is a big deal ( $ wise) Work helmet is cheaper to replace, so it's a really good thing to inspect it for any hairline cracks. That's all I can give in terms of advice. P.S. - Great use of the drone when cutting the 2nd branch..... ( isn't it too bad the drone couldn't have a chainsaw attached to it eh ? ) haha ! That's it, Happy Friday and have a great weekend. I hope you are on the mend Sean. I can see you are a kind soul.

Thanks so much for the great comment. Also thanks for the advice on the helmet. I did in fact inspect my helmet earlier and it is broken. So I will need to get a new one. Cheers and have a great weekend
