Thank you. I totally agree that this was totally ridiculous reasoning by the executives not to at least have a Dick Van Dyke cameo on the Mary Tyler Moore show, as if the audience doesn’t have any common sense whatsoever to understand that it’s just a guest appearance. Yet, they kept making their zany episodes with ridiculous plots and expected us to keep watching.

I was never a huge fan of the show as I was not the target demographic (male, late teens) as this was definitely aimed at a tennie female audience. I did catch a few episodes before it left the air, and a recurring character playing a handyman of sorts, George “Lefty Egomaniac ” Clooney made his debut, it was all downhill from there,

This was a show we watched regularly on Sunday nights, but then it started getting moved around so much it made me wonder if it was still on somewhere! So for me it had already disappeared without a trace!

It was a good show. I watched it regularly as a kid. I especially liked the interaction between George and Florence. Lots of great lines!!!

Franklin Cover said the Diff'rent Strokes kids were making more money than they were! They could have had an incredible send-off!! Bringing back Archie, and Gloria, Lionel. Look at the send-off CBS gave M*A*S*H, Uncle Bob, it makes CBS look racist‼️🇺🇲📺

In a way, this is like The Incredible Hulk, when it was abruptly canceled with no explanation as to why, when the show still still had decent ratings, and left Dr. David Banner (Bill Bixby) still searching for a cure for the Hulk (Lou Ferrigno).

That was a crappy way to treat all the people involved in this show! I never missed an episode in the 11 years, and l was very young when it first aired. I think it was one of the best shows ever made, superb acting and writing..Just a shame how they had to learn about their show ending😢

Carroll O'Connor did not create all in the family. It was based on a British TV series called "Till Death Do Us Part."

Fat Sally never near as important in the business as Lear or White.

Lear was a notorious idea thief. That's why a lot of his hit show credits read "Developed by," and not "Created by." I guess "Developed" is the nice way of saying 'Stolen.'

MASH is one of my favorite shows. One episode had their families meeting stateside. Hot Lips was a career Army member. Klinger was a draftee who tried various schemes to get a Section 8. He actually wore dresses on the show more than she did. Their characters did have some good moments together. One time Klinger drove Margaret. It was her birthday. Things didn't go well. Another time she and some others didn't believe Klinger was ill. He pointed out that none of his schemes never interfered with their work of saving lives.

I have heard for decades that betty white was very much like her character Sue Ann Nivens, on the MTM show. in real life. The ditzy, fun loving, good natured betty was her public face and not who she really was. She was my least favorite actress on the Golden Girls. I'm with Bea Arthur on this one.

It 's great to know that the two are good friends. I remember reading where they went to a meet and greet and she called him "My Jamie". Thanks Bob.

Great video. Please see if you can verify whether Jamie Farr is a Christian for your faith channel. I think his background depicted in MASH (Lebanese) is actual, but in the back of my mind I've wondered if he is a believer.

I got to meet Loretta & Jamie last July when they were in my area for an autograph show, and then they spoke with a group of fans including me awhile later. Jamie had just turned 90 2 weeks before. His mobility is limited now, but he's as sharp as ever. I enjoyed the memories both of them shared.

I love Betty White, but to stay "in demand" in showbizz, being nice is not enough. You need to be tough and savvy because there's a lot of rejection and scheming going on. So, I think the private Betty White was a lot tougher than her public persona.
