Thanksgiving NHL Playoff Prediction Who's In and Who's out | Which Teams Won't Make It | Judd'z Budz
Happy for Charlie finding a home and a coach that believes in him.. Billy put him in a terrible position..He would have been better served as a 2nd/3rd round pick..All that scrutiny has to be tough..Keep working Charlie..
He might’ve been my favorite Wild goalie of all time. That’s probably just nostalgia but he had the sauce.
I mean as a flyer's fan it's so hard to gauge cause He plays Against bad teams if he was playing on the top line he would be struggling And he's definitely not getting close to 20 minutes again but a couple weeks ago he was averaging 15 and he's got it to about 17 so far so Let's see
He ain't going anywhere. He will be signed long-term in July. Relax!
Celebrini is far more superior than bedard or michkov. Celebrini will be a good player and also the glue to the team and people will want to play for the sharks in a few years
This would be a good podcast if they actually just stuck to the subject.
I just think not very many people have actually watched the way michkov has scored his goals. Hockey genius stuff.
I told you that video should have came with a warning. How could you guy put a list like that in the universe after last years team. Hopefully Brodin is back soon.
Never again
Michkov on better team and from what seen defensive players are harder come by
this is a wild take. The Flyer have no real goalies. Errson, Fedotov, Kolosov and we have NO true Center. don't forget, if the KHL contract was not a concern, Michkov would have gone #2 and some people had him at #1.
@Tseuq4gninaem Flyers had 87 pts last year they are much better off then san jose
If michkov dont play more minutes celebrini will win
Damn yall tempted fate with this one
Celebrini will be a Selke candidate at some point in his career. He already plays better defense than most of the Sharks defensemen.
I don’t understand why people don’t think celebrini will be a 100+ point guy in his career especially given that he’s already ppg at 18
Мотя-лучший! 👍
Drury had to give Shesterkin the big contract after shafting Goodrow and forcing Trouba out. If he didn't show some sort of loyalty to his players, nobody would trust him or want to deal with him anymore. I know he's maneuvering within the rules, but boy is he straddling the line.
All facts
Absolutely NOT
The skin color of your baby and Malkin actually fit well 😂
Appreciate you 🍻
its not a fit, it makes no sense at all, trading a player who on the season has more points and is 15 years younger and in the role as first line center on a winning team. no, nope, please stop drinking.
Hard crowd, hard crowd
just don't see the benefit of giving up the closest thing we've ever had to a 1C (sorry Koivu) who's only 23 years old for 1.5 seasons of a 39+ year old year old who has nothing to play for anymore and just wants to retire... My guess is Billy extends Rossi on a 5 year $7 million aav deal...
Billy is the one that’s unsure, not us. Genuinely hope you’re right, but word from insiders indicates otherwise 😔
I pray we dont move rossi. Why give up a guy youve grown and whose gonna be a consitent center for you for years. Especially if they give him up for a guy like malkin or an aging vet on the down hill of his career
1) We love Rossi and wanna convince Guerin to keep him 2) Malkin still bucks 🍻
Do we really forget that BG draftet 23 by himself. Thats such an made up story, thats crazy. He will get an extension soon.
We’d love it if you ended up being right
By the end of the season the Minnesota Wild will have there 1C and 2C locked up longterm on teamfriendly contracts. Thats my opinion on this.
If they trade Rossi, we should riot
Just let us know when/where
We don't need another Zucker trade. Looked good at first. Total clunker in reality. Lambos looks like a bust. Is Addison even in the league? Bonino. Bonino.
Give Lambos a little more time. But fair rebuttal.
Rossi is my man and CV love seeing him at the Wilds, if possible forever. However, Wild will be fine with or without him in the long run. For this season they should keep him; Rossi is sort of the grease in the Wild machinery, the secondary playmaker to KK.
We vote “forever” 🍻
Z, go to Matt's, get a beer and a Juicy Lucy.
Nice
Why oh why oh why does Guerin want to trade Rossi? Malkin would be a HORRIBLE addition to this team. He's a THIRTY EIGHT years old and is a player who has been challenged to keep his emotions in check on the ice/sometimes takes dumb penalties. What a terrible, TERRIBLE idea, terrible. The idea that this would be a one-for-one trade is beyond laughably absurd. Malkin isn't worth Hunter Haight, let alone a top 2 C, scrappy, defensively responsible, net-front, scoring/passing center who will be here for years. How unbelievably foolish that trade would be.
Couldn’t make it past “cry-baby” 😂
@@thesotapod Agree, edited. I (erroneously) based my comments on a Capitals and Hurricanes hardcore fan I know who very much dislikes Malkin. My bad, I was wrong. Even so, he's 38. Veteran leadership is not lacking on this team - it is unfortunately present, though, in older players who no longer skate as well as their role demands (esp. Foligno but Spurgeon is showing some signs of age). Malkin is the same thing in a better forward role. I don't want Moose gone, and I'd be happy enough to have Malkin for a year but giving up Rossi for that is way overpaying.
Malkin isn't worth any of our top prospects, he shows all the signs of just mailing in next season and retiring...he has nothing to motivate him to put in the work at 39 years old and his game will fall off a cliff...he has his cups, he has his milestones...
More cups and more milestones 👀
Brock Boeser
Would you rather give up assets for him in order to have him for the playoffs or just target him this summer as a UFA?
I'm lost as to how we're thinking it's possible Rossi will be dealt mid-season.
We're lost as to how Guerin isn't sold on keeping Rossi. So, we find ways to cope...
@thesotapod my best guess. Guerin was willing to trade Rossi for more proven impact NHLer that pleases Kaprizov as the ultimate hunt is retaining the Russian this off-season, and luckily for us Rossi is developing wonderfully right now. I'd be stunned if Rossi doesn't get a 3 year deal before April
if Billy G traded for Malkin using Rossi, his ass would immediately be on the first plane out of minnesota
show your work
@@thesotapod malkin is 38.
Most depressing episode ever. You guys need to do a warning before the one. Not sure WTF you a thinking but a F’in injury tier list WTF then you double down with a trading Rossi topic.
The injury tier list is more of a “rank our most irreplaceable players” but fair criticism on how we labeled it
For Crosby only
if you can conjure it, we'll support it
Not even crosby
Not for anyone in the middle 30s
Who would you target?
I agree, you cannot trade Rossi. The Wild finally draft a center and patiently wait while he gets healthy, he finally starts producing and they want to move on, not interested. I would pass on Malkin - too much tread on the tires. Ohgren is close ( we went to Iowa last weekend and he was by far the best player on the ice, both clubs). He just needs to play top 6 or 9 worse case scenario or leave him in Iowa. If you want to make a trade, there will only be so much room at the inn in St.Paul. Spacek, Lambos, Peart, all looked strong. Milne, Toporowski , Bankier all looked solid as well. Someone like Sammy Walker or a Haight potentially could be used as chips in a trade but stay away from the core right now. Sometimes the best trades are those not made, patience is a virtue. Wait until a few teams pull the plug on the season and the price will come down. Sweden keeping Ek and Brodin on their rosters tells me they think these guys are healthy come February. As for injures, tier 1, 97/32 tier 2, - 7, 12,46,47,5, tier 3,- 38,89, 22 etc.
Appreciate the thoroughness! Anyone besides Malkin that would entice you?
@ someone like Braden Point from Tampa if they start to slide.
@@briangeary7684 I think Point is a much better option than Malkin but still see the same problem with Point as you have, seemingly, with Rossi. Point is "ok" not great in the face-off dot. Rossi has much more ceiling available to improve there - he's currently on par with Point's level of success and players get better as they get older up to about where Point is right now. Rossi has an historically better plus/minus, certainly this year, so it's fair to say Rossi is more defensively minded (likely due to speed over Point). Both players have to be signed to longer term deals and very likely for a similar cost (but you could sign Rossi for less right now). The difference being Rossi won't "age out" of productivity if you sign him to an eight year deal, Point very likely would. So, while a much better option than Malkin, other than size, what do you get better on? Rossi hasn't realized his full potential.
@ ok, I was just throwing a name out there, thinking we’re keeping Rossi and adding depth. If that’s the case, how about Larkin from Detroit. 28, 52% Faceoff guy, disgruntled in Detroit? Not as easy as one would think after looking up a few players like Leo Carlsson, Sharks probably will not take offers on a 19 year old center, Dach, Suzuki, Barzal, Stutzle - all from teams sliding or maybe trading in a month or two. It’s hard because their stats are skewed when you’re on a shitty team. Who would you grab????
If I can pick one prospect I want to buck the odds, Stramel is the pick. Big center, hopefully physical, dream would be Ryan Getzlaf in a mini-version as Getzlaf was a big time stud. He has faced some adversity already, maybe he’ll transition right before our eyes, fingers crossed! 🤞
You and me both, Brian!
Getting out of Wisconsin was the first step as he effectively lost 2 years of development with how much they misused him
Was hauling hay yesterday and randomly thought about Stramel and looked up his stats via EliteProspects and was really happy for the kid Gotta watch him vs the Gophers this week. Wishing him the best! (Hopefully Gophers win 3-2 and a Charlie goal or two)
Draft talk is a lot less fun when the Wild don't have a 1st. Maybe they'll get back in if/when they trade Rossi?
Maybe if it’s a summer deal right before the draft 🤔
Only argument I have with the 2nd tier...Middleton has been really good this year... BUT...Brodin plays against McDavid/MacKinnon...arguably the most underrated dman out there..
Brodin definitely deserves more praise
Malkin looks pretty washed… no thanks
If washed is 25 points in 30 games on a trash team then we should all aspire to be washed
He is on a downhill trend though… Rossi will only get better
Tell me you have had mad tree psychopathy ipa? Or rhinegeist truth ipa?
Imagine if instead of winning one goal games we were losing them. Or gus was as good as he was last year, wallstead jumps in and is having problems with moving up to NHL hockey. Imagine our record is closer to how it was last season at this time... Would we even be talking about trading anyone? I dont think so...no one expected the Wild to be as good as they are and NOW all we hear about is trades and picking up free agents... I hope we dont make any moves at all, not at the deadline nor in free agency next year...they seemed to have a plan when we were mid and imho being good shouldn't change that. I'm sure that im not alone in thinking that we are not expecting a cup this year, it'll be great if we can get out of the first round...dont fix what isnt broken and keep building the way you have been. Just cuz we'll have more cap space doesn't mean we should go gung-ho crazy... Real chance at a cup within 5 years, not 1 year.
What if someone like Martin Hanzal was available 👀
Cale makar hasnt been good defensively despite his numbers and definitely not the best player in the league
Who’s the best?
Joe looks like he's been on a 72 hour coke bender or just had a kid.... ha. I remember those days! Enjoy it. They grow up fast!
The parenting grind is no joke
Those stats show that Bogosian is a worse player than Faber and Spurgeon. That's never really been debatable. Also, your chart is a little goofed up. Merrill's CF% with Bogosian is higher than without, yet you have the higher number shaded red and lower number shaded green.
You know the Christian Wohlwend quote right?
KEEP HIM HONEST
Like, but I'm like, whatever, he like, can't like, skate that good and it's like, not that like, correctable at his like, age. Like, I feel he can like, still like, contribute? and I'm like, I feel like, the Wild like, got like, a good like, deal. Like, millinials like, talk like this to like, make themselves more agreeable to like, what they like, don't know what their like, talking about? and like, knowledge of like, non-knowledge....like, that's power.
Boom. Roasted.
So Boldy is projected to be on the best line USA hockey has ever had...where can I find whatever your having???
You're welcome to show your work
@thesotapod All time.. Super broad statement for all USA hockey.. overall accomplishment...80 gold medal..cone head line....Johnsons line..they beat a team Canadian Allstars (including Gretzky) and USA professional Allstars got trucked by. 96 Tkachuk Madono BG......beat Canada in Canada..Some of the World junior gold medal lines lately were incredible...just saying that these guys have a high bar to THE BEST LINE EVER IN USA HOCKEY.. There's one story about a Warroad line...Every US Olympic team went to Warroad in the Olympic year to play an exhibition game against the Lakers...1960 the team went up there and lost..They took a line off that Laker team (Christian bros...yea the old sticks) to the games and won the first ever gold for USA..
I hope Kirill will remain in Minnesota and the big bosses will do everything for this
If he doesn’t stay, it definitely won’t be due to any lack of effort from Leipold and Guerin. That’s 💯
Hopefully he spends next summer with Andy Ness. He improved Rossi's skating a lot.
This is the right way to look at it. We won’t judge him too critically til he gets a full offseason with our staff.
I bet KK will be offered a part ownership of the Wild.
Mario Lemieux did it 🤷♂️
$15M
15-16. М…
Pretty reasonable guess with the info we have now
Minnesota definitely doesn’t play exciting hockey, but it’s methodical and effective
It’s definitely not peak Pens, Bolts, Avs, etc. but it’s still a far cry from the Lemaire era where we consistently won 2-1 snoozers.
