What makes New Vegas special is every character makes you feel like the NPC in their game.

For example, he points out that the ‘little ones’ are actually our sins, and the ‘rock’ is Christ Himself, so to take our sins and dash them against the rock that is Christ.

I got this conversation as I was high on datura roof on my way out to kill some bears for my very own bear glove. Thought for sure it was a cryptic hallucination as part of me “seeing wisdom” or whatever you were supposed to do on that quest. “I don’t enjoy killing” that’s weird because you seem to love waxing poetic about killing babies and so on. Graham is a great and very well written character, but he’s definitely vicious and somewhat evil. He waged brutal war against 86 tribes with Caesar and helped him introduce a form of war that their world could not even conceive of, Joshua has no right to cast judgement on anyone, his actions count him among the worst of the wastes. He seems obsessed with projecting his guilt and anger over the loss of New Canaan, but even in that tragedy he is culpable, the war obsessed tribe he helped nurture eventually came to his own home as it did so many others, as the good book says; you reap what you sow. Still, a very interesting character, but not nearly as sympathetic as he might seem.

Joshua and Daniel represent the Old Testament and the New Testament. Joshua emphasizes warfare and defending his people, whereas Daniel emphasizes forgiveness and peace.

I understand now. Graham was right.
