    I said before, its not. The wheels are too small, its a dangerous bike to learn on as it doesnt stop well & doesnt take bumps well - with inexperience you can easily get killed. I had a gf of mine-her husband bought her motorcycle on her bday-she lost control of it on the way home-died in his arms as he was following her in his car home. Groms dont stop well or take bumps or turns well. Just saying cause you asked. A honda 230 cc or 300 is a better starter bike imo

    For the very hot days I would figure ahead of time a better way to get to a Rd that you could go faster so it would be better because of the wind... Being on Rd that you can't go no more than 20 and your stopping a lot and temperature over a 100 and with the humidity.. 😢😢

    Stay on whatever you feel safe and comfy on, im 6'2, 215 lbs and i love my grom, some folks suggest a bigger bike, but bigger they are faster you go and less time you have to make a correction, i grew up riding dirtbikes from a 70 to a 500, and im more comfortable on the grom

    • @everythingisIAM
      @everythingisIAM หลายเดือนก่อน

      the grom doesnt absorb pot holes or bumps well at all like the bigger tired bikes. The grom at certain speeds over 25 can bump you off the road and you can be killed easily. That is all im saying. Just be aware of every bump, and there are so many, when your over 25 mph or ride slow on a bike with the right tires. It doesnt even look right when you ride, your a giant on it and its not safe. Difficult for small corrections. I suspect the only Bri was comfortable was the price, but its not the right bike for her imo.

    • @Briannah73
      @Briannah73 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! I started on the Grom because this is what i used during my test. I love how small it is because im more comfortable. I deff was going to get a bigger one, like an MT03 but when i went to go look, the size was just a lil too much for me starting off and learning the clutch 🤣🤣

    Briannah73, how tall are you? I think you would be better suited for a Kawasaki KLX 300 SM, because of your height. It would be a good starter bike, the grom has 12 inch tires and you will find the bigger tires safer for stopping vs the grom. I been riding most of my life & I got a GROM too....girl, trust another girl, that aint the bike for you. Its not the one for me either, this bike isnt safe to ride. anyways, just a suggestiong to keep in mind if you have the funds, you can trade your grom in. or up as they say. Thanks for the vlog.

    When I was learning I went with somebody who’s a better rider once I had my own bike and practiced some of the stuff from the MSF course in a parking lot. Oh and I would stall all the time. Took practice to get used to a different bike. They do have the advanced course you could go back with your own bike and get lessons.

    I like you stay left or right, I prefer Left so you are in Drivers line of sight and watch your mirrors to make sure cage behind you is stopping. Always have an OUT. The best advice I can give any rider, " Ride like you are invisible " pretend no one can see you to protect yourself. One more: If you can on two left turn lanes use the left side. Cages like drift to the right on left turns. 👍👍👍

    Don't worry about the stalling, it happens to everyone especially when learning and it can teach you something you can change later or it might just be a simple mistake like thinking you're in a lower gear than you are, either way it will happen less and less and it all helps us learn in the end. Keep up the practice and ride safe ))

    When I got the grom new I was nervous enough to snap the clutch pulling into traffic for the first time lol but I put 800 miles on it before paying the first note. Everyone saying to blip the throttle downshifting, that's called rev matching. That's great and all but I probably wouldn't worry about it at first. Normal down shifting is fine until you have basic shifting down pat. Then maybe try to add rev matching sometimes later on.

  • @AssantiM
    @AssantiM 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm a beginner as well, riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan 411. I've gotten better at learning to listen to my bike and properly downshifting, but I've noticed that engine braking slows me down a little faster than I prefer when out in traffic. When driving my car I'm very smooth and put on my brake lights hundreds of feet ahead of time so the car behind me is prepared to slow down as well. So if someone is behind me when I'm on my motorcycle, I want them to know I'm braking by my brake light coming on. It's hard getting used to operating the brake and throttle at the same time when downshifting, so I just separate the functions for now until I get my skills up. So it's fine to just pull in the clutch and shift down a few times gradually while pulling the front brake vs blipping the throttle every downshift then applying brakes later. Just still try to have your transmission speed match your wheel speed. If not, you'll likely feel the mismatch in your left foot when trying to shift down.

    Yesss, girl!! First of all, I love that you have your "safety area" at the church, a place for your to get re-familiar with your bike and cool off. Second, I LOVEEE that you went BACK to where you made a mistake for a do-over! That's awesome! Proud of you for staying calm and working through both stalls. Personally, when I'm coming to a stop I just have my clutch pulled in and just downshift all the way into first. I'm too much of a beginner to worry about engine braking and perfect downshifts, I know that'll come with time. Since my clutch is already pulled in, I can easily either come to a stop, or let it back out to re-engage the back tire and give me power if needed. This is just what I do, not saying it's good advice or not :) Assuming a car is going to be going just because the light is green can be dangerous. If you have a larger parking lot or quiet street to practice, you can start to get familiar with engine braking as well as rev matching, which is done more easily at higher speeds. Then once you're familiar and comfortable with that you can try it on the main road! Keep it up and I can't wait to see more!

    @BrandonW-rx4yq 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You KNOW I came here to pick on you!!! But first imma give ya props! We talked about using 2nd gear in smaller parking lots instead of first last time and I see you did that this round!!! Seen it was way less jerky on you!! Second… Go ahead and shift up in gears!! Staying in the higher rpm’s will not only wear down that engine quicker but will also keep you switch smoother throttle response till you get more used to riding. 3rd.. Look up rev matching on TH-cam for when you are dropping gears. Let’s say you are coming up to a stop light and already in 5th or 4th. Instead of pulling in the clutch and hitting the breaks and trying to multi downshift, let the engine do it for you! Your doing great, just a few things I noticed. Keep it up and rubber side down girlie!! Now for the picking part! 🤪 QUIT POPPING THAT 11:02 CLUTCH!!!! I know it doesn’t matter much with the Grom power but if you ever decide to upgrade, that habit will bite you!

    It looks like when you shift gears you blip your clutch (pulling in and letting the clutch snap back out) instead of smoothly releasing the clutch. At the same time you also blip your throttle instead of being consistent with gradually rolling back and forth with throttle. A few times it seemed that your clutch hand and throttle hand weren’t exactly in sync with one another when shifting gears because your gear shifting technique is very quick and snappy. I ride a Honda 300r. The one thing that I quickly learned while riding on my bike is to be smooth with clutch, throttle, and front brake. Any kind of jerky or abrupt operation with this bike would cause to bike to ride rough and erratic. I’m thinking your stalling is caused by your clutch technique and how you use the throttle. I got it figured out by practicing the Slow Maneuverability Drills from Motojitsu last summer. The drills taught me Clutch Control, good Head Turns and Eye focus (ala Ride Like a Pro), Brake Control, and tight U-Turns. Maybe doing the Clutch Drills in the parking lot would help with you not stalling the bike. Hope this helps.
