We are the voice for the environment representing around 40 community environmental and sustainability groups in the ACT region.
Established in 1979, our mission is to achieve the highest quality environment for the Canberra region. We do this through advocacy, campaigning and community engagement with the aim of working to achieve a better future for the ACT’s environment.

ACT Election 2024 Candidates Forum
This forum was held on Wednesday 18 September 2024.
This forum provided constituents the opportunity to hear from candidates and ask them about their position on the nature and climate issues that matter to you.
We were joined (in alphabetical order) by current Deputy Leader of the Canberra Liberals, Leanne Castley; ACT Labor spokesperson for the environment; Suzanne Orr, Independents for Canberra candidate for Brindabella, Vanessa Picker; and current ACT Environment Minister and Deputy Leader of the ACT Greens, Rebecca Vassarotti.

if air-conditioning is so inefficient how can this be efficient especially compared to natural gas? My natural gas bill was only 115$ this month and the temps got down to -10f for a week.

4-1 efficiency is not quite correct. Under 15 degrees HPHWS drop and 0 degrees under efficiency drop significantly. 5 year ROI over say IG is a total exaggeration

@@solexxx8588 What about it? Ducted gas/ evaporated cooler set up at least 30% cheaper to purchase in A.C.T than a ducted electric
@@chefgav1 A CO2 heat pump is much more efficient than gas. I get my power from solar with batteries so my energy is free.
