Muy bonitos trabajos.... Saludos desde Perú
I'm glad thanks 😊
You certainly are a master craftsman.
Thank you very much :)
Looks beautiful ✨✨
Thanks 😊
Beautiful work! I would like to see an inlay on a curved surface, like a bead.
Thank you, that's a great idea! I'll try to make something like that next.
@goofyandalittlewild You have a lot of talent, and I've been envisioning doing that myself, but lack the tools currently. Look forward to seeing your next work!
@@WizardShimm Thanks again 🙏🏼I'll try my best, not sure when, but a promise is a promise 🙂
Anyone can do this with a dremel
That's wonderful I'm glad
Amazing, fantastic job...
Thank you so much 😀
Nice👍
Thanks ✌
Min 10:58 what liquid do you apply, please? Very nice work.
Hi, thanks , the liquid is a blackening agent, I use it to enhance surface details, or give a rustic antique look, the agent here that I'm using is potassium sulfate 🙂
Correct 💯
Excellent work as always 👍👍
Thanks ♥️ 🙂
این فوقالعاده ست👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Excellent job. Please teell me if the silver inlay is cut out of plates made with silver clay. Thanks
Thank you very much, I appreciate the question! The inlay is cut from solid silver sheet.
Восхитительные работы! Вы делаете вставки из метала, может вы знаете и можете подсказать, засыпают какой-то порошок в прорези, может вы знаете состав порошка?
Thank you! The powder is usually fine metal (like silver or brass) or mineral powder, mixed with epoxy for binding.
عالی بود👌👌👌
Что означают эти иероглифы?
It's Chinese 🙂
These are incredibly beautiful! would you mind making a short video dedicated to your sanding and finishing process?
Yes of course 🙂

Thank you for watching, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
OMG ! You always impress me with your precision and calm
Thank you so much! It’s a calming process for me, and I’m glad that energy is coming through 😊
Nice work, impressive. What does this talisman represent? Also, I didn't see it posted, but the opening music is Amélie Theme - Comptine d'un autre été.
Thank you so much, really glad you liked it! This talisman was created for a client whose life has been deeply influenced by the balance of luck and peace. The mammoth tusk and silver inlay were chosen specifically for their personal meaning to them. and you're absolutely right about the music, it’s Comptine d’un autre été from Amélie. I forgot to mention it, but it’s beautifully played by @shadesofpiano . I’ve added a link to his channel in the description definitely worth checking out!
@@goofyandalittlewild I didn't really catch it from your cut, but it is a nifty "mashup" of Comptine d'un autre été and Another Love. Thanks for the link!
Its awesome, definitely some wintery vibes. I really like the 2 different metals on the same side, the silver catches light in such a way it almost seems to change colors. The contrast looks 🤌 so good.
Thanks a ton.. The idea to use two different metals on the same side was actually the client's suggestion, and I think it worked out really well. I love how the silver plays with the light too, it almost feels alive with the way it shifts. Really glad you picked up on that, and your feedback seriously makes my day :)

This sort of talisman isn’t part of my culture, but I can still appreciate these beautiful objects and the great skills that go into making them.
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful perspective. It's beautiful how art and craftsmanship can transcend cultural boundaries and connect us through shared appreciation. Your words remind me why creating these pieces is so rewarding-it’s not just about the object itself but the connection it fosters. 🙏

Thanks ♥️
@goofyandalittlewild it's my pleasure 😊👍
I think it looked better before the last hammering
Check the full video, perhaps you change your mind 😜
@goofyandalittlewild i absolutely did. That looks beautiful. You should have shown the finished product in the short.
@@Gravvvyyy You are right noted :)
As always, it is lovely. I saw the thumbnail and thought you would be using the method where you cut a strip, tapping it in as you go. But this is even more impressive, with some light wood block printing sprinkled in there lol. Just doing the outline like that, so delicate 👏. What kind of care instructions do you give people that buy your pendants? I was thinking wood oil, but I was not sure if that would be a problem with the silver
Thank you! I’m glad you picked up on the detail here. The strip method is solid, but I wanted a different flow for this one, more of an organic fusion of silver and wood. For care, you're spot on with wood oil, something light like tung or mineral oil works wonders to maintain the wood’s depth and luster. Just be mindful of the silver, too much oil can dull its finish over time. A soft cloth or gentle polish every so often will keep it looking bright without interfering with the wood. Appreciate your thoughtful question and attention to detail :)
@@goofyandalittlewild I think you achieved your goal, it feels very organic. The shots of annealing the silver while the paper burned off were very nice, almost looked like it was blooming. Thanks for answering my questions, its very nice to be able to talk to someone with such a wealth of knowledge about a craft. A craft that combines many skills too, my favorite kind of craft.
Could you also have used the ironwood to cast a mold, and cast the inlay with the mold? Or like a lost wax or something?
Great question! You wouldn’t use the Ironwood directly to cast the inlay because it’s too hard and dense for that. However, you could use it to carve a pattern or model for a lost wax cast, where you'd create a wax version of the inlay, make a mold around it, and then pour molten silver in. So, while the wood itself isn’t used to cast, it could be part of the process as a shaping tool.
Very nice tnku
Thank you too ❤️:)
Veramente bello e molto interessante vederti all'opera. Complimenti. Ma per curiosità, cosa c'è scritto?
Slow (缓慢) and Steady (稳定).
Absolutely beautiful piece of workmanship I loved one
Thank you Very much :)
I am beyond words. Watching you work is beyond amazing. Such a beautiful piece ❤
Thank you so much; your kindness really means a lot to me. I’m so glad you enjoyed watching; it makes all the effort worthwhile. 😊❤
This is NOT Mammoth Tusk Ivory, this is not fossilized Ivory. This is pure raw natural Ivory from an Elephant! If this was Mammoth Ivory Tusk it would not be this pure a white, and would be fossilized or partially fossilized, you would not be able to sand it with regular sandpaper and get fine tailings from the Ivory like you do in this video! You Sir are a Liar, and a fraud! Elephant Ivory is Contraband everywhere in the world except in CHINA, and it is China that continues to cause the depletion of Elephants across the world because of stupid superstitious "Chinese Medicine" and so many other horrible things China is responsible for around the Globe, and here you are, pretending that this is Mammoth Tusk Ivory??? Wood is okay or any other renewable source, but your culture's used and demand for Elephant Ivory is causing the extinction of Elephants in Africa and anywhere else where elephants that produce tusks live. You should be ashamed of yourself. Not only that but your Absurd prices are also shameless, since it does not take a genius to produce the items you are making, but just a little patience and a good source of materials. $15,000 for a Talisman that is made out of Elephant Tusk, which would get whoever bought it thrown into prison for supporting an internationally banned item! Shame, shame, shame on you!
There are so few aspects of Chinese Culture that remain untainted or undamaged by the CCP (except for those bastions of Chinese Culture outside of China) but Calligraphy is one, and pottery is the other, and I LOVE both of them! excellent work my friend. And inlaid in Desert Ironwood Burl no less!!!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad ... There’s a timeless beauty in calligraphy and pottery both carry such rich history and artistry that’s still alive today. Desert ironwood is a unique medium to work with, and I try to honor the tradition by combining it with these cultural elements. It means a lot to hear that appreciation! Thank you
Awesome! Your control of the tool, when you are carving out the characters at pretty much 90 degrees is amazing. And I love when you use the lathe, its oddly satisfying 🔥🔥🔥 as always
Thanks a ton! 🙏 The 90 degree cuts and control take a lot of patience, so I'm really glad that comes through it’s all about the feel of the tool. I do have a laser engraver for other projects, but nothing compares to the satisfaction of hand carving. I think part of my steady hand comes from practicing Chinese calligraphy; it’s all about focus, precision, and flow. Each stroke really helps refine that balance of control and creativity. Appreciate the love and your support as always! 🔥
@@goofyandalittlewild It certainly does come through. I recently started using dip pens and calligraphy brushes, so I can really appreciate the control and patience Chinese calligraphy takes. I cant make one line the correct shape yet. Your focus shines through, your skills compliment each other 💪
@@calross5008 t’s awesome that you’re getting into calligraphy too dip pens and brushes are a great way to build control and patience. It’s definitely a slow process at first, but every line you make helps you get closer to that flow. Keep practicing, it’ll come! Appreciate your support, and it’s great to connect over this shared love for precision and craftsmanship.
Desert Ironwood Inlaid with Silver: Slow (缓慢) and Steady (稳定). ☕ buymeacoffee.com/goofyandalit... ☕
When you warm the silver over the fire is that just to soften it to fit? I wasn't sure if it was to soften or anneal the silver, or something else I don't even know about? The piece is 🔥🔥🔥 as always!
Exactly, I heat the silver to anneal it, which softens the metal and makes it easier to work into the wood for a precise inlay. It also helps release any internal stress in the metal, ensuring it won't crack or warp when it's shaped into the finer details of the design. And thank you very much ♥️ I really REALLY appreciate your support 🙏🏼😊
@@goofyandalittlewild Of course, you always answer my, probably way too many questions. Your content is great, I'll be in here asking you questions until you're channel blows up💥, then you'll be too busy lol
I'm impressed. Got those skills and the Talent to be able to pull that off. Thanks for sharing your shy corner of the internet with the world.
Thank you so much for the kind words! It means a lot that you appreciate both the craft and the effort behind it. Sharing my work can feel a bit daunting sometimes, but comments like yours make it all worthwhile. I’m really glad you enjoyed the video ❤️
It’s well made but how does it cost 15k and what does it do 🤷♂️
Great question! The $15K comes from the rare mammoth tusk, the silver inlay, and the hours of craftsmanship behind it’s art, history, and good vibes rolled into one. As for what it does… well, it brings a little peace, blessing, and maybe some bragging rights too. 😉
Does it work?
If it brings you peace, joy, or even just a smile, I'd say it's already working 😉✨ But hey, no refunds on blessings! :p
