@marcoparrinello7767 that is certainly a core issue with this deck, the mekk knight engine struggles to accomplish much going first unless you draw and can resolve girsu, and the traps on their own aren't enough to control the board effectively enough to really hamper the opponent. Something to consider to bolster the going first potential of the mekks is a gen/ken package. Resolving gen to summon ken to your opponent's board and then linking into almiraj can give you a column to work with, or if you have the traps to set it can give 2. Alternatively, maybe a mimighoul splash could serve a similar function, with the added benefit that the mimighoul trap can clog up two of your opponent's monster zones for a turn, which plays nicely with our strategy. The issue with that, which is much less of an issue with the gen/ken package, is that it really eats into the non-engine space. But, just something to consider for future iterations of this strategy

​@@sweepinbelle I'm an MD player of the deck, and I really appreciate Sangan as an additional normal with a copy of Mekk Knight Orange Sunset in the main deck and Almiraj in the extra. It allows for a 1.5 card Morning Star going first by linking Sangan into Almiraj, searching the Orange, and summoning it under Almiraj assuming I have a backrow to set under it. Sangan can also search Chalice to discard with Morning Star if I already opened a Mekk Knight to summon under Almiraj or a hand trap to have additional interaction next turn. I also like running 3 World Legacy Secret and a World Legacy Whispers for similar reasons. Mekk Knights appreciate both a certain amount of backrow for column making and also discard fodder for Morning Star. Drawing any backrow helps gets knights on board, drawing Secret frees Morning Star to search another backrow whether that be Memory or Whispers, and Whispers can help protect from certain common breakers. Having additional copies of Secret also gives the deck a little grind which helps a lot given they'll struggle to OTK into even a weak board. I personally run a single World Legacy Key as well, but that's to have a trap deck out in MD's Bo1. It's maybe a side deck consideration in TCG, but I'm not sure I'd main deck the Key in Bo3.

@sweepinbelle for the sake of clarity, you can still legally draw off making an XYZ ship w Shari Red, but you can’t then activate Shirauo in hand with Shari Red as material, just for example

@@Leon23546 I had a similar thought some time ago, thinking I could use e-tele with some of the low level metalfoes. The issue with trying to extend with normal monsters is that many cards, and specifically beyond the pendulum, need effect monsters as material. Now, when electrumite comes back, that's a different story

@Leon23546 gotcha, I totally misread your first comment. You definitely could do that as a way to cheat out arc pendulum dragon, which certainly isn't bad. It's kind of a bummer that it won't go to the grave to turn on the bonus effects of the Primite cards though

Using muddy Mudragon with dragon drive to cheat out mirrorjade whilst keeping a lvl 8 on the field for Sharakusai is just jank I couldn’t resist. But yeah, The 3 archetypes do well in terms of meshing. Do tell me if ya have any questions!

If the price ends up being reasonable enough to pick up a playset, absolutely. Ulcanix is really strong and while I don't know exactly what the lines are at the moment with that card included, I'm confident it's at least worth exploring and very likely worth running

Absolutely correct! This was my first time playing with these cards, and I neglected to read them as carefully as I should have. Fortunately in this situation I don't think it had any significant impact on the duel overall though

The banlist didn't really change the combos at all, just the end board since obviously apo is gone. In her stead you've got options like s:p or silouhatte rabbit, or you could go for things like knightmare gryphon or topologic bomber dragon. Really you can build any link board you like more or less, that's the beauty of the tri brigade cards. Now, ulcanix coming out almost definitely changes things, but I've not tested with that card yet so I don't know exactly how at this time

I didn't have a side deck when I played this, there's really not a lot of room for non-engine. Even in matchups where you would want to side the bystials out, taking 7 dragons out of the deck feels bad. I guess that makes phantazmay a pretty good option. I also think droplet is good, since the rulers work just as well with resources in the grave as they do in the hand. Lava golem/sphere mode are good since the deck doesn't need its normal summon if you don't open red rose exactly, and lava golem being a fire could come up for blaster/burner

Thanks! Searching ghost meets girl there was definitely the right play in hindsight, but I tend to really value getting yuki-musume into rotation since she's so good at filling up the grave over time

@@Alasterrific Thanks, I'm glad you like the deck! The schism package is definitely worth considering, obviously establishing winda is extremely strong. You'd probably be best off cutting the Zeus package from this build to make room for it. Also, be mindful of white knight, as it locks you out of the extra deck entirely when it's on the field. Probably not worth running it with the schism package for that reason, even though I personally really like the card

There are things you can do in certain scenarios, like if you have kirin in hand you'll want to prioritize using your fire tri brigades so you can kirin pop them to dodge imperm for example. But unfortunately this deck is just inherently vulnerable to hand traps and if you don't have the extension to push through that's just the way it goes sometimes. If you don't have crossout I'd put in talents and maybe thrust so you've got more cards to play past hand traps. And generally, if you can summon bearbrumm on or before 5 summons then you'll at least be able to get to revolt even if they nib you. As for goddess, that's kind of an awkward card since using the tri brigades restricts you into only being able to use tri types as link material, so if your opponent doesn't have a tri type monster you want to out, goddess isn't really doing its job. If you really value to summon from grave negate and can afford 5 link material it's not a terrible option, but there is that limitation you need to play around

@@matteo1599 the Tri-Brigade links are essential, except for rugal but he's still nice to have and even if you don't end up playing him I'd still own a copy. Almiraj is important, as it turns some unplayable hands into playable hands. The ancient warrior link is a very strong option to summon off the tri-brigade effects, but probably isn't strictly necessary. None of the other links are essential. They're all serviceable options, and I think they're among the strongest options (though I'm currently testing a pretty radically different build), but you can pretty much go with whatever links you want. Keep in mind that once you use a tri-brigade on field effect you're locked into only using beast/beast-warrior/winged-beast as link material though

Avramax definitely has its merits, but I think I'm going to swap it out for topologic bomber dragon and focus on having that, revolt, and kirin+ponix in hand as my standard end board. The harpie link and feather storm sounds like a really strong plan in the side, but i personally don't like playing turn skip cards like feather storm, so I probably won't incorporate that in my build. Silouhatte rabbit would be very strong in this deck, as it is in pretty much any deck, but I don't currently own that card, so I'll have to do without. As for light heart, what would that do for the deck? I could see tri-heart being a decent option against Tenpai, but Im not sure what light heart would do unless I played a scareclaw package or something. As for how I do, I have the duels I played uploaded to the channel so you can watch for yourself if you want. At this locals I went 1-2, but it was also my first time playing this deck so I wouldn't necessarily take that as an accurate assessment of the deck in more capable hands

@@sweepinbelle fair on all accounts. Light heart is niche but helps you in some situations that are suboptimal or if you get hit by certain handtraps to go into a link 1, and then a link 2. You can also make s:p little knight a bit easier with its banish 2 that way.
