Grandson's Ride to Sammy Miller Museum

I had a laugh taking my grandson on a motorcycle ride to Sammy Miller's Museum, a place renowned for its impressive collection of vintage motorcycles. It was only his 2nd ride on the bike. Upon arriving at the museum, he enjoyed the sights of the gleaming bikes on display, he couldn't believe they were older than me [cheeky bugger]. Each motorcycle had its own history, and we spent hours explor...

Embarking on a motorcycle tour through the stunning Yorkshire Dales was an unforgettable experience. Riding my Benelli TRK702X, I navigated the winding roads that revealed breathtaking landscapes at every turn. The day began with bright blue skies as I set off towards Buttertubs Pass. The ascent was exhilarating, with the bike effortlessly carving through the curves. The views from the top were...

really tempted to get a benelli ,you still happy with it
7500 miles and never missed a beat, live it.
Footage and sound are good! Despite driving on the motorway with a lot of wind, everything is still clearly audible. 👍Did you also test the 2-way conversation with Tojjer?
Thank you, i was impressed with the mic mni. Nige has a video going up on Saturday, with two way conversation.
@@TheDorsetRider Curious how that works 😜👍
👍👍 sounds great
Thanks mate, how are you getting on with the 702?
@@TheDorsetRider loving it, did a 2800 mile trip and never missed a beat
@Johnnybimble have started watching it. Looks like you had a great time.
@@TheDorsetRider thanks steve hope you enjoy it 👍
Works well, picture quality excellent and mic provides nice clear quality. A bit of wind noise but pretty sure it can be tweaked.
Thanks Alex
I think that's good mate, yes you can hear some wind noise but that keeps it authentic. I don't like it when it takes away to much ambient noise.
@Tojj29 Thanks Nige
sounds good Steve 😎😎😎😎😎
Thaks, Howie.
Not quite sure why this hasn't come up on my feed before now. The sound is good. I think the levels are spot on. It would be easy for you to be too loud and the intercom to be too quiet but I reckon you've cracked it.
@Teuchteronabike Thanks for the comment, sods law, just hot sound right and now have upgraded to dji, so here we go again. Should be able to use the same setup. 😂
Sound was spot, could even understand that Tojj bloke 🤣🤣🤣
Well that was worth the wait for it to upload. Sounds ok dont it Steve. Will have to get out soon, going stir crazy😂
@Tojj29 That was a quick upload for me. I know what you mean, next weekend is looking good 🤞
Comms sound absolutely spot on. Good to see you guys still out and about, I’m currently under 6” of snow up here 😢
@BMCMOTOUK Thanks mate, was a great day out. I try and ride all year, but 6" of snow would probably put me off.Spring is round the corner .
@ cheers Steve, the roads up here are pants, even in summer and to add snow and ice into it then it’s a no no lol
Great video Steve, have you checked that the mic isn’t on mute with the Cardo?
We went through everything Sean, even factory reset. Not having it for some reason 🤷♂️
Thanks, as Nige said, tried everything even using a new mic. Should be sorted the weekend.
@@TheDorsetRider awe that’s not good lads, definitely sounds like a fault with the unit. Hope you get it sorted 👍
Moto corsa ... such a shame they stopped trading in bikes but glad they kept the cafe going. Hope that cardo gets sorted Steve and hopefully I'll be able to catch you both for a ride/meetup in the Spring 😎😎😎
Going to Infinity on Saturday, they said they would take a look and try and fix it. If not they will replace it.
That's recording your nav directions clear as 👌 no reason it shouldn't do the same with the comms (when it's working) 😂 So, I did all that malarky with the brown sauce, and you didn't press record! 😂😂🤦 Good day out that was mate. Well, until it pissed down on me on the way home after I left you😂
Rookie mistake 😂 , I'm sure I will catch you again playing with your food 😄
@TheDorsetRider I'm sure you will 👍
Nice video 👍
Doesn’t the stabilisation work with 4K definition? Hmm
Nearly every biker turns off the B6270 just before Hardraw Force and up to Tan Hill. If they went straight on towards Kirkby Stephen they be would rewarded with one of the most expansive and glorious views in England on the drop down into Nateby especially on a day with weather like you had. Regards Edward
Bargain Breakfast that, gets you going in the morning. Sound and video comming through OK. Hope the Two way conversation gets working as would be great to hear you both chatting along the ride. Cheers
@kimetogo Tahks for watching, I've got it sorted now, so hopefully will get to catch a few goggles.
Great little vid, nice to see Tojj
Great video and good to see Nige too. Your audio is a tad quiet and I’m sure with some tweaks here and there you’ll dial it in. I’m forever tweaking my settings lol
@BMCMOTOUK Thanks mate, I'm always tweaking, I usually have to increase the details in post edit, trying yo keep wind noise down. I will get there one day 😆
@ yes I’m sure you will get there mate. It’s all about finding the balance
Shame I had to leave early, couldn't be helped though unfortunately. Now you've got that Neo, you can either split the audio out of the cardo, or just record us both on the Cardo app. Worth a try I suppose 🤷♂️ I'm sure we can sort out a short trip one weekend 👍
@tojj29 I'm going to try both, see what I get. A weekend trip sounds great mate.
I love that Military Road over there, superb ride with superb views. That Waverley Pub we stayed in was brilliant for the money, nice and central too. Not sure what was up with our mate the Bin Man though, he kept getting himself lost!🤣🤣 Isn't it the most expensive ferry crossing in the world when you work out the distance travelled? Do the locals get subsidised travel on the ferries?
Really enjoyed our trip over there, wanna do it again some day. I hope that TT race comes off one day too, would be great for the island.
Have you ever been into the motor museum in Moretonhampstead? That could be a day trip one day mate?
I haven't, it's an old filling station I belive. Count me in mate. 🏍
I think that's the farm @thecampingbiker has just stayed at with a nice pub next door.
That's a much nicer ride in the dry Steve🤣🤣 I do like Cheddar Gorge. There's a superb cafe at the farm in Priddy, just before you drop down into the Gorge. That's if it's still there🤞🤞
Wow, that’s nice, riding with your grandson! We love that too with our grandsons and granddaughters. They enjoy it a lot on the bike and always have a lot of fun, especially the girls. They go blablabla all the time 🥴🫣😝. We have several vids with them on our channel 😜. Enjoy your ridings with your grandson 👍
Hi Steve, Found you via Nige (Tojj29) and subscribed. We love the views in the Dorset area. Nice ride! 👍😜
@oldbootsontour Hiya, Nige told me about you Dorset is beautiful. Ha e subscribe back. Thanks again.
@TheDorsetRider Thank you and welcome! Enjoy the vids, especially with the grandchildren 😜
Nice ride mate. New sub.
Brilliant, bet he loved it 👍👍
He did, he's itching to ho out again.
Brilliant, looks like he enjoyed himself mate. He'll be wanting a bike of his own in a few years, I bet.
Great to give the young ones a bit of an experience on the motorbikes. Im sure he enjoyed the ride. Cheers
@kimetogo He loved it mate, my old man taught me to ride when I was 8, only a year older than he is now.
Nice ride and my type of roads. A lovely part of the world.
Here from Kime live. Full watch and a sub. Great vid man😊
how are you getting on with the trk,ive got the same bike.
Great mate 6500 mls and never had an issue.
Nice video Steve. The Yorkshire Dales at their finest!
Thanks guys, I'm going to have to go back, so much to see.
Great video. Hopefully be able to do most of this route in reverse on the way to Northumberland 250 next may
Thanks mate, looking at doing the 250 myself next year.
@@TheDorsetRider 4 of us at the moment, stopping in premier Inns, coming up through Wales to Wigan then easy steps . Durham, Berwick, Lancaster and home . Looking forward to it
@thenotsohairybiker8479 sounds great and can't beat a Premier Inn
Another cracker mate, I don't think we appreciate just how good our own country is at providing superb places like the Dales for us to ride in. I managed to put the drone over the Ribblehead Viaduct, as you say amazing engineering especially considering when it was built. And you certainly did get lucky with that weather👍👍
Brings back memories , I did the same way in June 24 on 125 Super Cub great fun throwing the little back around those bends, hit it early for the lighter traffic then I went on to Windermere for the Kirkstone pass, Newland pass and Honister pass before stopping in Keswick for lunch then returning to the campsite at Ravenglass a glorious day touring on a 125 in the Lakes.
@williamcoulter5462 The lakes take some beating, no matter what bike you have. I'd agree a 125 is perfect.
Absolutely stunning riding up around there. Good you had a pretty much clear run up the Hardknott. I would imagine it can be a right pain with cars having to stop on those nasty bends when they meet another car coming the other way. Great vid again bud, and ya can't knock weather like that on ya travels.
@tojj29 Thanks Nige, done the passes twice now and both times had a clear run. Proper lucky with the weather this time.
Beautiful mate, love the lakes. Lots of us crave Spain, Portugal, France etc, but we have all this virtually on our doorsteps in our own country. Fun fact, when I was slim and younger, I cycled up Whinlatter and Kirkstone passes. Think it would kill me if I tried that now😁 Lovely find at the end there with that weir👍👍
where
Thanks mate, I always try to use Camping and caravanning club sites, if possible. You know what you're getting.
That's a great site Steve, everything you need and as you said, all clean and tidy. Can't believe the price, brilliant. Ride safe bud 👍
Just buying the 702 Steve. How many miles on yours now and has it been reliable ?
Hi Ray, done 5000 so far and no issues whatsoever. Seat is a bit hard, but putting a gel inset in this winter.
Great ride and amazing memories. I grew up there and in fact the site where you camped I can remember playing there as a child when it was getting built by my dad (well by the Forestry Commission but dad was head forester and was in charge of the build). At about the age of about 14 I used to drive a Forestry Commission Land Rover and trailer round the site emptying the bins and occasionally towing out cars that had gone too far onto the grass. Simpler times. Hope the midgies didn't eat you alive!
Steve, have a look on my at my mate pulling off that forecourt in Ullapool. Prepare to be impressed.... The B9176 ( The Struie ) is a road that I cycled up on my charity cycle ride from John O'Groats to Lands End in 2013. It seemed to go on forever, but for the most part wasn't that steep. You then took the same back roads we did towards Beauly. Nice to see the river from Invermoriston bridge again. Beautiful views again mate, even in the rain. And that Bunk Inn looked bloody superb for that money mate. Cheers Steve, brought back a lot of good memories.
Thanks mate, I prefer the back raods, I am watching you Scotland trip atm, so will keep an eye out.
@@TheDorsetRider I think you'll wet yourself watching him 😂
As you say Steve, great roads and everywhere you look is absolutely amazing. It wouldn't be Scotland without a bit of rain😁😁 Can you run your camera off of a powerbank or power from the bike at all Steve? I do that and with a large sdcard, it gives me all day recording without having to change batteries. She sounded sweet in the tunnel mate👌👌 And then there was hailstones🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We stayed in the youth hostel in Ullapool, was alright to be fair. Nice and cheap too
My battery lasts for 5hrs, I just need to stop and take a break more.
drift do a microphone and power splitter. So you can plug in a power bank and a microphone to the weatherproof mic connector. No worries about water ingress and having to unplug the mic. Cus sometimes recording the rain is good as it shows a more realistic tour. I am not a to a big fan of the fair weather vlogs. .🤓📽🎬🎤
I love that A82, beautiful road to ride even if it is busy at times. That bit with the new road section gives a cracking view of the loch now the trees are gone 👌 And what can you say about Glencoe, that those views don't say on their own? Beautiful place, absolutely stunning. I'm intrigued, what job do you do that you get to play? And that looked blowy putting that tent up😂
A beautiful route.
Looks like a great trip mate 👍👍
@@GermanJobbies It was mate, despite the weather. Scotland is beautiful.
@@TheDorsetRider oh you need rain on a Scotland run or else it wouldn't be the real deal 🤣
Glad you subbed to my channel, it highlighted that TH-cam had unsubbed me from yours. That's 15 channels it's done that to me, or I've found 15 so far, there may be more.
