    • @theitchtofish1052
      @theitchtofish1052 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The plain ol Plano does the trick! Be sure to take it inside and dry out the boxes after spring season! I keep my plastics in the bag to keep the flavor in.

  • @brandenaspden9263
    @brandenaspden9263 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    can you use plastics on these rigs? worms seem to fall and tear off too easy

    • @theitchtofish1052
      @theitchtofish1052 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You absolutely can. You may find your numbers will decrease a bit, but when the fishing is hot and heavy they will still slam a soft plastic. Just make sure you are using a plastic that is a little softer so the hooks can slide out and grab on when a fish bites!

    why only until mid may? then what happens?

    • @theitchtofish1052
      @theitchtofish1052 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. 2 things happen: 1. This is the biggest issue, the river becomes teaming with White bass and white perch to spawn. They love eating these jigs before the walleye can get to it. You still can catch them but it does get more difficult. 2. Walleye that are done spawning begin to migrate back to the lakes. So numbers in general begin to decline Mid May to mid June you’ll have better luck in the St Clair river

  • @johnwashington9590

    • @theitchtofish1052
      @theitchtofish1052 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! Yes, you can and I’ve caught them while pausing or getting distracted doing something else, but you’ll get the trigger strike from the movement of the bait.

    • @theitchtofish1052
      @theitchtofish1052 ปีที่แล้ว

      Always troll with the current. Trolling against it will make your blade spin way too fast, in my opinion. The speed of the current is much different from the surface to the bottom. I’d look for 50/55 as your best bet. But I’d pay less attention to that as it can vary from day to day, I’d focus more on the time of year. Late May to end of June is the best. First week of June is my ultimate favorite week. You gotta be out there regardless of temp, and other factors!

    • @jackmasters9953

      Ali. Wind usually determines the direction the bow will be pointing. After you carefully drop your jig to the bottom your line will have a slant or lean. Use your trolling motor to chase your line back to vertical. With a little practice you’ll be a pro in no time. Don’t practice in heavy boat traffic!!!! Have fun. C ya on the river 😃😃🎣🎣🎣

    • @theitchtofish1052

      Looks like Jack summed it up below! I’ll see if I can get a video together about that. If you are on the Detroit river, the best place to master this is the smaller stretch of water by the golf course south of the Wyandotte boat launch and BASF. The narrower water is the best protected area on the river from wind gusts. The area is a producer as well 😎.
