Episode 14 // Are we going in the right direction?! 😳
Dodging thunder + lightning storms, hiding from the hail + sliding in mud is just the welcome we should’ve expected from New Mexico. With only 150 miles left of this state we might have gone the wrong direction. Although it did lead us to meet some amazing trail magic that had us feeling like royalty for breakfast!

After taking the wrong dirt road to get to the monument, we were forced to SOBO it for the remaining 25 miles to start our trek North! Adapting is the game we are here to play! 🤣
Usually our typical response for how long does the windy season last in New Mexico is 12 months 😂. Best of luck in NM and beyond.

On behalf of the not crazy people who live here I'm sorry for whatever happened. You don't deserve it, there's just some terrible people here that are difficult to deal with. Just fyi, as soon as you travel north of Cuba it gets really pretty, in case you ever decide to come back to finish those miles. Safe travels, and don't stop laughing on account of the bad apples here.

It's several miles off trail, but San Antonio hot springs are not to far away from eureka mesa, once you're up near Cuba. Nice change of pace from that terrible road walk out of pie town.
