มุมมอง 453ปีที่แล้ว
this is my contribution to the recent 'Liberty in Our Lifetime' Conference in Prague .... talking about my ideas of market-based urban planning regimes, the costs of the planning paralysis most democratically run cities face, as well as the energy that might be unlocked by radical liberalisation of planning and by the privitization of urban spaces

Amazing lecture 👏🏻
Thanks Google for the automated subtitles, the audio is impossible to understand.
I was about to say the same!
Nice
Of course inspired by nature.... Reptiles
The top view at 0:18 looks like it was made from a little girl drawin' its so simple forms, then every batiment looks different like an independent project, anyway i want say more about this project but talking about zaha is more important, i see its hard for her cabinet to reproduce her styl, its a headache, they tried but, at first sight u see its not the zaha curves, her curves are mathematically zaha's... i think that cabinet did not have the potentiel to do better, the question they should ask is , What is zahas next level? That what they needed to aim for, but they ended copying lines they cant reproduce with equal finess-not this project cauz its absotutly no relation with zaha architecture even if the got he job in the name of zaha...
Thanks for sharing Mr Schumacher
Good 🎉video of the future 😅
amaizing Arquitecture
😂😂😂😂 This is like normal stuffs. AI learning people can do better. Why Architectural Students do less than a normal people ?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
comparative advantage
Thank you!
Touching on printing of photovoltaics is promising, as well as the adaptive possibilities of mechanical components. I’d like to see more biological functions and ‘living envelopes’ next. Thanks for sharing
Excited to see how this platform will grow 🙏
form and funcionality...when they work for each other human can achieve beatifull things.... when funcionality follows form you start having the wet dream of an starquitect
It is nice to see architects talking about salaries, transportation and daily life of human beings because architecture is for the people and people are in a society, not in a perfect system. Thanks
Hi i am a PHD student and writing a thesis about architectural design at Metaverse. I wanted to schedule a meeting at Liberverse web site but i couldn't join. Is this project still inreview? Is it possible to experience it with VR head set? Thanks
48:00 What you are missing is that the above place is much much more pleasant to be in compared to the huuuuuuge parking waste on the bottom. A city does not need to be navigable by sattelite, but by foot. In fact, car centricity is the opposite of efficient, pleasant, social and sustainable architecture. I do not mean to be impolite, but everything you showed here is just hellishly dystopian. None are pleasant, or green places to be. You - and your discipline - seem to think of people as unity of production and logistics. Nothing you showed here respects and accommodates the social nature of humans.
For real... You gave a parking lot as an example for good architecture? I came here to learn more about modern architecture, because although I hate it, I might be wrong and wanted to understand it better. Now I just hate it even more.
Sounds like a good idea, but then I took a closer look at the webiste and the anarcho-capitalist and pervasive profit motives are downright dystopian. There ARE good arguments in favour of city states, but this foundation is a collection of all the bad ones. If you think the city is a business, you know nothing about either cities or people. In fact, you guys resemble a real-life Andrew Ryan from the Bioshock games, which I now realize are pretty genius in terms of social commentary.
Why can't a city be a business? I'm struggling to see an argument that you made against it except a video game told me.
are all the people in the videos agents or real people?
Thank you for sharing your genius
Please I'm a novice in understanding Parametricism please can I know why a curved beam is optimized ?
This is junkfood for the mind.
Just pretty graphics and CGI. Nothing a human being would want to live in...
Does this solve the total corruption and outrageous cost of housing that no normal person can ever afford?
Its all inspired by nature. Dont pretend it is about enginnering. It is only engineering that has figured out how to copy some natural forms.
I miss your collaborations/interventions with Zaha ! A powerful duet !
Lovely
I watched it repeatedly, several times until I got tired, waiting for the sound dimension to appear. With sound composition added to the layer of formal composition, what would it be like?
I'm so pleased to hear voice exploring the streamline
Is it just me or it gets harder and harder to understand Patrick's english accent?
I edited a few videos for a summary of how Patrik Schumacher explains the interaction of architecture and AR as well as virtual spaces and digital twins: th-cam.com/video/ZtINQEBpEy4/w-d-xo.html
It's built?
....yes. in dubai
Very interesting! I would love to organize an interview with you about the role AR can play for architecture and collaboration at work. Are you interested in talking about this aspect specifically?
Love the flow of the form
that's incredible
🔥🔥
This will make you feel really ill after a few minutes. Some nice shapes but this is not how you build a useful metaverse.
nice work
A good amount of analysis and initial design ideas for phase 1 👍
Patrik, I feel like your definition of the architect spills into planning. Care to expand

such a gem of a video, but y did they fart in the intro edit?

One of the guests made a good example of what the entire debate was about. Climate change is newspeak, whether or not you believe in it or not and beliefs are irrelevant in a scientific context. Obviously the climate changes: ever second, hour, day, year, decade and millenia. No one would oppose such a statement, which gives it political power. Whether from human incentives or from its own evolution the word is undeniable in itself and broad enough to contain any political motive. Just like terror. No one wants terror and since it is an emotion it can be found anywhere (in middle eastern caves for instance) and fought anywhere by anyone for its existence alone. And anyone who questions this can easily fit under its category as a terrorist or idiot.

Amazing! What were the workflows for those magnetic fields and other fabric like Topography studies?
ok, good weekend
I'm very curious to see how the philosophical implications of Metrotopia will be addressed and explored. It's an experiment with profound potential.
At this stage METROTOPIA exists only as a small mucleus that indicates potential, and it is only open for private viewing by invitation. We are currently talking to many design- and design-related firms about taking up spacce in Metrotopia, the first 6 months are free (except for direct costs involved in hosting special events). We had hosted an afternoon of opening events - capacity 100-150 simultaneous participants on the 18th May, including a press viewing, vernissage and panel discussion. On show was/is an exhibition featuring architectural projects - built, to be built and unbuilt - authored by leading firms, including OMA, Morphosis, Coop Himmelb(l)au, UnStudio, MAD, Sou Fujimoto, Archi-Union, LAVA, CAP, EcoLogic Studio and ZHA a.o. This show gives you a glimpse of what a virtual architecture Biennale might look like and how it might display works. You might check our initial website: www.metrotopia.io/
With claims that AI may have an impact on the jobs of architects or designers, it might be a good time to give a good, realistic, well balanced perspective on the implications it may have in the near future. Perhaps the industry may appreciate the voice of those who have been using the technology for some time. And sometimes it's nice to give a talk on a subject which everyone wants to hear about.
