    • @alrocky
      @alrocky 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Consider S&P 500 index fund / ETF as your core or majority holding. As default consider ~10% each to foreign and bonds. If 401(k) offers company match contribute enough to receive that match. Favor contributing to Roth while in relatively low tax bracket and favor contributing to traditional when in relatively high tax bracket. For various reasons including tax diversification, contribute $7k year to Roth IRA.

    • @alrocky
      @alrocky 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@paulpeters8819 Sep IRAs and solo 401(k) are bit more complicated than being employee of company with 401(k)s since you're the owner who must manage /navigate rules. Perhaps visit Bogleheads forum for information and feedback. Principles of investing remain same so invest as much as income and budget allows and for tax diversification include Roth IRA.

    defaulting to market orders every time is not a good idea. look at your orders every time you place them and you will notice every time you setup a market order you lose money in the transaction. This is due to the supercomputers they use. Whenever you place the market order a much faster supercomputer knows the order is coming (from a person that is willing to pay whatever price a security costs) and places your purchase at the highest possible value that most time does not match the price you saw in the screen when you pushed the button. The best way to prevent this is to place a limit order instead because that forces them to give you the price you specified when you pushed the button. in summary when you tell a seller you would pay "whatever the price is" on any item why would they sell it to you for the lowers price possible, they are there to make money so of course they will sell you that item for a higher price and this is what happens every time you chose to place a the market price security purchase. you can look it up and inform yourself. at the market purchases are most def not the way to go, always always purchase securities with a limit order instead. * when placing a limit purchase do not forget to unlock the little "lock icon" button that will automatically update the price as it changes every second guaranteeing you the lowest possible price before placing your order.
