Extended Safety Install CZ Shadow 2
มุมมอง 1.9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Because of the new flat trigger in one of my Shadow 2’s I’ve ended up shooting it a lot more than the other one with the stock curved trigger. When I had to go back to the one running the stock flat safety I was very aware of how much better I like the extended safety. There’s a number of advantages to the extended safety. #1. It acts like a thumb rest, allowing you to better manage the recoil....
Rebuilding the Ejector/Sear of the CZ Shadow 2 - two easy ways
มุมมอง 1733 ปีที่แล้ว
My most favorite gunsmithing tool is my awl used for sewing and leather work. The sharp tapered point makes it easy to capture things that might be slightly out of alignment and the taper helps line everything up. I discovered that the pad of my index finger works as well as a jig, which prevent the sear spring from falling out the bottom of the ejector when trying to reinstall it. That’s the w...

    I just ordered a set for my Shadow 2 online. I had a hard time choosing between the thin grips and the palm swell ones. I have big hands, but my experience is i usually have a better grip on smaller guns.. And if i alternate back to another gun that doesnt have palm swells, I feel like it might throw me off.. So i ordered the thin ones. Hope i made the right choice. 🤷‍♂️

    Thanks! I finally ended up with an S2 OR. Love it (of course). Interestingly, after only installing a lighter trigger return spring, I'm not feeling the need to polish anything or install a shorter reach trigger. I say that after having polished and replaced the internals of all my other CZs (SP01, PCR, P01 x2 and 97). The DA is a bit heavy and long (I may end up installing an 11 or 13.5 pound main spring in) but the SA is pretty sweet right out of the box. Is the SA as smooth or light as my hand polished and resprung other CZ's? Almost. I was surprised - I was all set to give it a complete overhaul. For now, I'm just gonna shoot the thing and see what happens. 😉 Have you shot a TSO? A few months after the S2 OR arrived a buddy of mine decided to sell his very well used TSO and I couldn't *not* buy it. OMG, now I get the hype. The SA trigger/action is simply amazing. I've been using it in our centerfire bullseye league and my scores have definitely improved compared to using the S2 OR, SP01 and my Walther Q5 SF. The damn gun is magical. It reads your mind. Instant favorite CZ. Anyway, it's been a while since you've posted. I hope all's well!

    Do I need to modify the grips to fit an airsoft one? If I do, does it mean I can't put it back on my pistol?

    • @CZFanGrrl
      @CZFanGrrl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Super Sus You will need to bore in a tiny divet in the top rear corner of the Lok Grip. You'll see exactly where when you go to install them. The LOK Grips will fit the Airsoft Shadow 2 precisely once that divet is made and yes, you can still put them back on your pistol. It's a divet. Not a hole. If you've drilled a hole you've done too much. You basically want to clear a pin on the Airsoft that sticks out. Sorry for the delay in replying! I haven't been active on this channel for awhile because I haven't been doing much with the guns. Pretty much maxed them out for now.

    Thank you so much for your videos, such great information and detail. Although I don't compete any longer, (I use to in PPC Combat and Bullseye) my main focus now is, and main interest is, target shooting, for "Precision Accuracy." I shoot standing unsupported, two handed "slow fire" from a 25 yard distance on to a bullseye target. My goal is to attain the smallest 5 round group possible "freehand" at that distance without using a mechanical rest such as a "Ransom rest". I have been successful with a variety of revolvers and pistols in different calibers, (even the 500 magnum) I Have shot 5 round groups from between 1.5"-2.5". All my handguns have been in a stock configuration with no modifications, other then smoothing out some parts. With the purchase of my first CZ, the CZ Shadow 2 Orange, I hope to shoot a 5 round group 1" or less! I've done a lot of research , looking into the intrinsic accuracy of pistols, and think this particular CZ can help accomplish my goal. I'm also interested in getting the most performance to accomplish this accuracy from my pistol via polish and smoothing parts. Your videos are most helpful. Thanks again!

    What’s holding the magazine brake in the bottom?

    • @czfangrrlguns
      @czfangrrlguns 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Glenn D. The magazine brake (stock) fits in a groove at the bottom near the main spring plug, which also puts some tension on the brake. Great question by the way. I use a Springer Precision Mag brake which is actually free floating at the bottom, held in place by the magazine brake roll pin at the top and by the pressure of the grips.

    Could you please explain the sear? I cannot understan what it does. Thanks for great content!

    • @CZFanGrrl
      @CZFanGrrl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sear holds the hammer back until the correct amount of pressure is applied to the trigger, at which point the hammer is released and the firearm discharges. The hammer has hooks that contact the sear. A well matched hammer and sear assembly is critical in a good trigger, if the hammer hooks are worn, the hammer might not fully contact the sear causing the hammer to fall to half cock position when the slide is racked (see my 85C video for an example of that) or the gun might go into full auto when the trigger is pulled. The sear also engages with the safety node and if that connection is poorly matched, then the safety will not apply when it needs to. Hope this helps explain!
