@N330AA It was an extremely rare case that day. What happened is the aircraft was full (as everyone was returning back from holidays), Zakynthos has a very short runway (2000 m) and the wind was calm, but there was a slight tail wind on both ends of the runway. Thus, MTOW was quite low with an already extremely heavy aircraft. Therefore, we couldn't fly directly to Gatwick, so we landed at Milan to pick up some more fuel (I would imagine around 4-5 tonnes). I believe what the crew was trying to do is to try and make the aircraft a bit lighter while we were waiting for Corendon 737 MAX to land. We should have already been ok with the takeoff weight, but the crew was just making it a bit lighter as the runway is short. It is an extremely rare case, and if you have a look at the flightradar log of our flight, you'll see that it happened only once with us. ​@airflightchannel8078 I usually play MSFS2020 and do alot of short runway takeoffs and the pilot should've used more flaps to takeoff like say 15 or 20% down from the a321neo that way It can lift off better with the fuel and passengers it has and then just retracted them bit by bit in each speed they reach but then again I'm yet to experience the A321 neo this Saturday when I come here 😁😁😁 U28203 seat 25f

@@trainzhub No, it's a standard procedure to control the speed. They need to comply with the speed restrictions, such as under 300 knots below 10,000 feet

@transportwithhazza Indicated Air Speed of 250 knots. However, if you check in Flightradar, almost all aircrafts in standard airports cross 10,000 feet at 300 knots ground speed, unless otherwise stated by atc.

@trainzhub They always do that to comply with speed restrictions. Takeoff is done at FLEX temp thrust; after takeoff, pilots switch it to autothrust which controls the speed - Indicated Air Speed of 250 kts up to 10,000 feet. I believe there's also a general restriction of Mach 0.68 at FL180 and Mach 0.72 at FL240, but I am not sure about that. Hence, the autopilot controls the thrust to gain / maintain certain speed. Apologies for the late response.

I've flown on A320 ceo series a lot, as well as a few times on 320 neo and 321 neo. I can't say that I find neo quieter. It is a different sound, but not quieter. Particularly at the cruising altitude - effectively, equally loud (maybe by a tiny fraction quieter). However, the start-up and flex/toga sound is FANTASTIC. Along with A350's Trent engine, it is my favourite engine sound - true power. While most people need quieter engines, personally as an avgeek, I love this sound! Thanks for your comment
