Thinking about moving to AZ, worried about scorpions. Whats your input on scorpions?
Where are you moving from? Scorpions can be tricky - if you're closer to the mountains or newer development areas, you're more likely to encounter them. You can have your house sprayed, which helps, but scorpions can still be random. Just because your neighbors have them doesn't necessarily mean you'll have the same issue. Let us know if you have any other questions!
@livinglifeinarizonausa would be moving from SoCal for a business opportunity. Have a 1.5 yr old and the thought of her getting stung ever makes me hesitant.
My daughter got a lucrative job in Tempe, Arizona. We had never been to Arizona but lived in San Juan Island, WA, Seattle, WA, Washington, DC, Minneapolis, and Toronto. I am excited for her, and it will also be an opportunity for her and me. As a senior retiree, Arizona would be a nice place to retire. Thank you for the video and the information.
You guys will love it here!! If you need anything let us know!
Horrible place to live it gets hot starting in April very many allergies, no water back to California in two years
You are moving back to California? Allergies are rough!
I love it
Awesome!
I moved to Pnix in 1976 with family. And, while it wasn't so bad back then, But thru the 80s and onward the heat became suffocating. The last 3 years have been frighteningly HOT, with the number of 110+ degree days reaching 72 just last yr. And APS says they are near maximum load capacity for the grid. If you don't have solar, prepare yourself for deadly heat. Even the roads get soft in June, July and Aug
Cant disagree with that on the heat!
Great video because my wife and I are looking into relocating to Phoenix. So thank you
Awesome! We have other videos of the actual cities that may be worth checking out!! Thanks
I love power ranch
Yes!
@ any available homes there or can you take pictures of the Santa Fe style stucco in power ranch
@@RossVesci Did you mean true Sante Fe style? That is difficult to find but they have similar options - Shoot us an email and we can send you some options shantjhomes@gmail.com
The one thing that bothers me most about AZ (and NM) if you have to either have a VERY expensive filter in your house, or buy drinking water. NEVER DRINK TAP WATER IN AZ. WE have both an R/O system under the kitchen sink for pure water, and also the machines that you put big 5 gal bottled water in. It's pricey either way.
It is a must to have!
I moved here in 2010 from MI. I HATED MI. In MI there were 2 nice months where you could be outside and enjoy nice weather. May and Oct. Summers were too dang hot and humid during the day, and too many bugs in the evening. I spent my whole life. Sitting inside staring out wishing I could at LEAST SEE sunshine. Nope. It is cloudy there from Oct to April almost every day. There may be a few clear and sunny sky days in the winter, but those were soooooo cold! And bright. Sun reflecting off the snow is so bright you can hardly open your eyes. Down here we rarely have cloudy skies. Those are days when we might actually get rain so we get a little excited about them. But no matter how hot it gets, you won't have to shovel it. And you won't slip on it and break a hip or slide off the road into a ditch. You go from your 75° car to your 75° house. You can sit in your cool home and at least see sunshine outside. And for me (I've been here almost 15 years now) I am acclimated to being outside (in the shade) up to 109°. At 110 I stay inside. So there may be 3 months where I don't play outside. In Michigan there were 2 where I COULD! I live in a bedroom community SE of Phoenix proper. I love it here! People are friendly; climate is dry and easy to breathe; even our "small town" has all the big stores (many of them - several malls, etc...); world class healthcare; and a LOT of things to do. I do wear light weight gloves in the summer to protect my hands from hot steering wheels and door handles. Most businesses cover theirs. Monsoons are over touted. Less rain here DURING the monsoons than in Michigan in spring! LOL this years we had a Non-soon - no rain here at all. I lost track but it's been more than 155 days without rain. Dust storms - maybe 3 or 4 per year. Not everyone sees them, and you just stay out of them! I Always keep a mask in the car (I have lung disease) so as soon as we see the cloud coming (they are obvious) I don a mask. Have you seen pics of (Usually Mexican Men) under a tree with bandana around their face? Those who work outside here do also. Dust is bad for lungs. When I go back to MI I'm like "It is sooooo green here." That's a real thing. But It's the least of my concerns. I have a monthly pest control service that keeps pests away. If you hear crickets here you immediately call them. Crickets chirps are a dinner bell for scorpions. I have never seen a big snake. I pretend they are other places. LOL NEVER let small dogs or cats out to play by themselves. Large owls and eagles will swoop down and snatch them up before you can grab them. Keep a leash on them is your best bet for saving them. The food??? I find the food here very good. Many good restaurants and bars with good food. But I live in Gilbert... LOL
Haha yes! love your response we feel the same way!! We live in Gilbert as well and love it!
Try the Midwest winter, the east coast is easy versus that area.
You are not wrong! I want no part of the midwest winters lol
Plus the urban heat island effect, skews the records. Just take it away from concrete and it’s damn hot obviously, but in the desert it’ll be 110 for those months. I’ll take the sun over the clouds because taking Seattle and England and the arctic cold of South Dakota. Trust me. Try those climates for a period of years not just visiting.
Agreed!!
A lot of opinions on here. Do as you please people. I’ve lived at 52 degree north latitude in England, 7000 ft in the mountains, the pacific NW, Southern California and South Dakota. Have any of you truly lived in a cold climate? If you have, you’d understand why the heat and a state with so many terrains like AZ is so desirable. My wife and I have a final destination and it’s AZ now. We’ll be in touch with your channel 😊
Thanks for sharing your perspective, and we’re glad to hear Arizona is your final destination!
Scottsdale public schools suck
Ah, Sorry to hear that;
You tried real hard to sell Arizona. The worst thing about living in AZ is all the people that have moved here in the the last 40 years. It used to be a great place to live until you all arrived and drove the prices up. Now, more Cali people are moving here. Go to New Mexico.
Totally understand your concern of all the people moving!
Lived here all my life and I personally couldn't imagine living anywhere else. But ya I'm tired of Transplants moving here and then trying to change it to be like where they just came from! So annoying. This time of year I'm used to strangers approaching me to tell me that they can see my gun and maybe I might wanna cover it up or put it away! I always try to be polite about it cause it's obvious that they just don't know that AZ is an open/conceal carry state! Then there's those Karen's who have complained to business owners/managers about it "after I've shut them down about my right to carry" to try and have Me kicked out after listening to them call 911 on me and over hearing the dispatcher explain that unless I've upholstered it or made threats that there's nothing they can do about it! I don't understand people like that. Cause me personally I feal more comfortable at the supermarket when I see multiple people carrying verses when I don't while visiting somewhere else! I live in Apache Junction out by the Superstitions so guns, horses, Harleys, off roading, hot nights, and 1 and A 1/4 axre parcels are the general standard for norms. Now we've got all these out of state Corporate Developers who pay someone local to represent them to make them seem more relatable who are buying up everything and building multi story apartment buildings with plans to Urbanize everything. Wanting to push out the retirees. Labeling the street corner where the Grand Hotel used to sit as Down Town AJ! F@cking stupid. If you don't like horses guns critters and living breathable space to live with respect to your neighbors? Than don't move here. Actually don't move here the locals are tired of the rising costs of everything including our property taxes. We don't have enough water for the people who already live here, and no amount of money is going to increase its amount. So don't kid yourselves into thinking that the water supply cares about what social class you fall in. Ariz I na is like America's version of Australia with all the many critters creature's mammals arachnids etc etc etc that can and will kill you. Lions and bears snakes Scorpions black Widows brown Recluse wasps and on and on the list of ways you can die here
I live 1 mile from the ocean in NJ. so, we might miss it. one of our concerns is that the flight is so far from going back to visit the east coast..... LMK how you feel about being that far away.
Similar to my brother who lives in Atlantic highlands. How often would you go back and forth?
Yes you are in the same situation as my brother who lives in the Atlantic highlands - How often would you fly back to NJ?
Guys, thanks - good info about Tempe... appreciate!

Phoenix is a dump. Full of red necks from what I see. I’ve had the unfortunate business of having to trace there weekly for client meetings and I’d never live their. Albuquerque/NM is actually prettier.
Besides the heat,I find the desert ugly and depressing..
Really?!? What landscape is your favorite?
Phoenix is running out of water. Also, the earliest 100 degrees ever recorded was in May the latest was in October.
Yes, we will likely hit 100°F on some days in May and October. I’ve heard they have plans for water, and Arizona seems to be managed better, with a focus on planning ahead.

Went to Phoenix for the first time last year and it’s very similar to the San Fernando Valley. Interestingly, both Phoenix and San Fernando Valley have a population of about 1.5 million people. I think LA folks will get a déjà vu feeling.
Yes it is! Only difference I would say is Phoenix metro is newer.
I enjoyed the video and I liked and subscribed and was happy to see you didn't mention our area of Arizona because we like it that way and big city people can stay where they are forever as far as we are concerned~! What was the community without HOA right after Honeysuckle? You jumped to it too quickly, but didn't mention its address.
@@dmitrishvetsov2980 Great question! Thanks for reaching out-I’m glad we were able to connect and get you the details you needed. If anyone else has questions about communities in Chandler or anything else in the video, feel free to ask here or reach out directly. Always happy to help!
I moved here in 2007. I grew up in CA (central coast) and lived in Santa Barbara before I came here (I was in graduate school at the time). We live in the burbs and have a good life but I miss CA. It’s way too hot from April and pretty close to November and it’s unbearable. Stuck indoors for 5-6 months whereas CA was perfect. Also, I’m a person of color so living out here in the burbs is not the friendliest place and you feel it too.
@@drplando14 Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like you’ve had a unique journey moving from California to Arizona. We totally understand-the heat can be intense, and transitioning to a different community can come with challenges. That said, many people find that Arizona offers a great lifestyle balance with its affordability and opportunities, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all. If you’re ever curious about different areas that might suit your lifestyle better, we’re happy to help!
Great job guys!
Thank you Keith!
Summers are brutal especially if you have children and they have the worst school system in the country. The heat is unbearable and utilities are sky high.
Yes summers are hot!!! We try our best to do activties that keep the kids cool like going to indoor play places, splash pads and pools!
No, Don't come here. Summers are impossible. I'm leaving after 2 years. Just open your oven and feel that blast of air, that is Phoenix in the summer. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Summers here can definitely be intense, but there’s a lot to love year-round too. Wishing you the best on your next adventure!
And the best part? As soon as you buy an overpriced house it's going to depreciate when the bubble burst!
👍
