Curiosity Chronicles Snapshots of Ancient History Curriculum Preview
We are using Curiosity Chronicles Snapshots of Ancient History for our 2020-21 history curriculum. Let's take a look together at this exciting way to learn about ancient history. I'll follow-up at the end of the school year with a review of how things went. As of recording, we have finished two chapters and are LOVING this choice.

The Story of the World History Curriculum Review
มุมมอง 8254 ปีที่แล้ว
Last school year we used The Story of the World history curriculum and loved it! We spent 13 months going through all four volumes and I'm so glad we tried that approach. My kids were able to see the connections of various events and would often bring up situations in our discussions that reminded them of other instances throughout history. Here's a link if you would like to see what we used fo...
Inspirational Books We Read Together for Discussion in Our Homeschool
มุมมอง 724 ปีที่แล้ว
We like to wrap up our homeschool day by curling up in the living room to read together. Before we get to the novel we are reading together, we like to read one or more stories from these books. They usually lead to some great discussions and give my kids a chance to vocalize how they would handle a similar situation. There are also lots of uplifting stories to provide inspiration and motivatio...

Tuttle Twins Flip Through Including Activity Workbooks
มุมมอง 1.4K4 ปีที่แล้ว
A flip-through of the 11 Tuttle Twins books plus the accompanying PDF downloadable activity workbooks. We will use these in our homeschool this year to discuss civics, economics, business, and social principles. I love the projects, activities, recipes, and discussion questions that are provided in the activity workbooks. I think they add a lot of value and the chance to dive deeper as a family...
What We Use For Our Music Curriculum
มุมมอง 1.8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I'm sharing some of the books and online tools we have used in our homeschool for music. We, also, have used recorders and plan to add piano lessons in the future. I didn't mention it in the video, but we also keep a supply of instruments for our kids to experiment with including an acoustic guitar, harmonicas, kalimba, triangle, rainsticks, and a floor tom drum. Featured books: DK Help Your Ki...
We Created Our Own Grade School History Curriculum
มุมมอง 2024 ปีที่แล้ว
We created our own history curriculum two years ago for our first year of homeschooling. Our kids were in 2nd and 3rd grades and we wanted to instill a love for history in them by engaging them with books that would draw them in and capture their attention. By using the books shown in this video, we were successful! History remains the favorite subject in our home and it has been wonderful to w...
Flip Through Usborne ART Ideas Book Series
มุมมอง 3964 ปีที่แล้ว
I was hoping to find some new books for us to use for art this coming school year and was excited when I came across these. We'll still be using our curriculum (Artistic Pursuits....video coming soon!) that we've used the past two years, but this will be a wonderful addition. They would be a great reference for anyone wanting to work on their drawing skills! Follow me on Twitter and Instagram! ...

HOMESCHOOL: How We Started & What Content I'll Be Sharing
มุมมอง 854 ปีที่แล้ว
Hello! We are headed into our third year of homeschooling. We started off in public school and began our homeschool journey at the request of one of my two kids...and subsequently, lots of research. In this video, I introduce myself to you and share some of the curriculum and book series that I will be making preview and review videos of very soon. I have a long list of upcoming content planned...

I am excited to start this channel and share videos showcasing homeschool curriculum we have used, as well as new curriculum that we will be starting this year. In addition, I will be sharing books that we have enjoyed reading together as a family. interactive science
Thank you so much for this review!
Iam senior I need it Could you send me one easy grammer book
how do you get this books pdf to download
They need to make these for elementary school students too. Would be awesome
Even though I agree with you. It seems the company is currently working on more High School subjects. That is also great.
How many pages a day do you do?
This was really helpful, thank you! I impulsively picked up THREE of these books off of a free table at a local curriculum sale and now I feel like I got such a great find! After trying a few grammar programs that I feel are way too unstructured and were not helping, I think this is exactly what we need to bring my middle schooler more up to grade level without the intensity of something like Grammar for The Well Trained Mind.
How did this go for your science for the year you did it? I love your excel spreadsheet also.....do you sell it?
I love this whole series of - Create Your Own...Curriculum - would love to see more. I largely create my own, as well. Very helpful!
I have th math I’m geting amarican history
Very very informative. I love this way of teaching.
Are these good for grade 8th?
yes!!!
Yes, as 8th grade is part of middle school.
Does Easy grammar do sentence diagramming?
How did this go for you? How did the interactive notebook work out? We bought the textbook and actually just got it in the mail yesterday. It looks like it will be a good fit for us, but I'm wondering if we should add the interactive notebook or just pair the lessons with TH-cam videos or something. We bought another science curriculum, but I really like the simplicity of this and how many topics it covers(our curriculum just dives into one area--chemistry--for the whole year).
Did you end up using it? How did it go?
i'm a student now and i don't have enough money to buy it although i really like it. You can show me hơ to download ebook free. please help me
Thank you! Great review video!
Which is a more engaging read aloud? CC or SOTW?
Thank you for your review. I hadn’t heard anyone speak to doing a four year history cycle in one year before but the ability to make connections doing things this way makes so much sense to me. Thank you.
thanks for sharing and doing a great job on the video presentation :)
I really like this approach. I was searching to see if anyone had used only the books (and added more where interest took place) I never thought of going straight through them all! I was going to do one per year. I love this 😀thank you
This was extremely helpful and a great approach. Any thoughts on doing this same approach for K and 2nd? Is the curriculum too complex at that age?
I have a 1st and 7th grader I want to use it for next year. I was hoping my little would be able to grasp it.
Really, really great video! I’m so excited to order this for my 5th grade son for the 2021-22 school year. You have really cemented in my mind my decision to buy. Thank you! It’s going to be a great year!!
Love these suggestions for learning about music!!
can you provide me some pictures of this book? i have to teach a student
Could you tell me which sorfware to write a book like this?
Hi. Thanks for the review! Just want to ask if the Daily Grams 3 would be enough for an incoming G3 who's never used Easy Grammar before. Or is it better to use the Easy Grammar itself? I was just thinking, doing both books at the same time can be tiresome for my kiddo, I wouldn't want the load to kill her interest. Thank you!🙏
I know you asked this question 5 months ago, but thought I would share my experience. I only did the daily grams with my second grader, and found it to be a good introduction to grammar at a time when she was not a strong reader. For third grade I will be doing both, but now that my daughter is a better reader and more self sufficient, I plan to have her do the daily grams on her own and I check at the end, where as the lessons we will do together. That's my plan, but time will tell. I hope it worked out for you!
Thanks for the great in-depth video on both Curiosity Chronicles and your other video on The Story of the World. This is my first year homeschooling my 5th grade daughter. Which of the two different curriculum do you prefer for history? I feel like after listening to your video and doing research that The Story of the World is more for like 2nd through 4th grade and that it would not be good for 5th and 6th grade. For the first part of the school year for history we just did important people in history she was interested in (Marco Polo, Catherine the Great) since she "hated" history because of her time at school - so I did not want to force history on her. So we just starting up a "real" history curriculum. My daughter's school only taught American History so she really has no clue about any other type of history.Would love to hear which of the two curriculum you feel is better and better for 5th and 6th grade. Thank you
I have these books. I'm just looking how to incorporate the worksheets in with the reading. Do you read a few pages and then do a couple of worksheets? There aren't any prompts on the worksheets on when to do them.....like read pages 1-10 in the book and do worksheets 1-4. Thank you for the flip through!! Any suggestions would be great!
Hi! Sorry to just be getting to this. We read the book all the way through and then go through the group discussion questions. My daughter likes doing the word search and crossword puzzle with each book. Both of my kids like the message decoding and Mad Lib. We still need to try one of the recipes! We do like doing some of the challenges together such as creating our own food truck.
What a great idea to use these as the spine! We just got the colonial times and sioux Indians. Can’t wait to read them.
I hope you enjoy them as much as we have!
Thank you for this! Although our family is only in our 7th week of Homeschool, I am already feeling like the science curriculum we are using isn't what I had imagined it to be. We will continue to stick with it, but might have to switch things up in the middle of the year if it continues to be "dry". I am definitely going to be looking for these things and adding it to my never-ending "wish list" 😂
I have a never-ending homeschool wish list, too!
Thanks!
Great overview. Do you have them work a few pages five days a week? Or how do you schedule through the year?
Thank you and I apologize for getting back to you so belatedly. I took a short break for kicking off our school year. Working at a pace of two per day works well for us. Some days we only do one lesson, especially when starting a new section so there is more time for me to teach the new material. Occasionally we will do three lesson pages. On the Easy Grammar site Dr. Phillips recommends 2-3 lessons per day; however, she says that number should be adjusted to student needs and, "Our goal is mastery, not speed!"
@@pondodreams6585 Thank you for sharing your experience. It is reassuring to hear from Moms who teach multiple kids. So often we use a curriculum differently than it is presented.
Very helpful! Samantha says she wants them!
Thank you! They are really great books and I love the way they designed them!
@@pondodreams6585 We use these also! I actually made worksheets and study guides for the kids to use while working through the books.
First! Looking forward to your videos.
Yay! Thank you!
