Wingit Mission Fishing & Outdoors
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 มิ.ย. 2020
"Wing it" is a common expression that means to do something without a plan or preparation, and "mission" usually refers to a specific task or goal. So, it's possible that a "wingit mission" could refer to a situation where someone is improvising or doing something without a specific plan or preparation......like fishing!

MY FIRST CATCH & COOK - Let me know how I went.
Hi mate where did you park to fish this creek in karratha
Why is it so hard for some people to do any easy search of the rules and regulations. This is from the dep of fisheries WA REDFIN No bag limit - it is recommended that they are not returned to the water and are humanely euthanased with dead fish not left on the shore. So it is not illegal to put a fish back in the water but it is recommended not to put them back.
@@thebob3712 for sure mate, alot of people find simple things tough these days. Your summary is spot on. Thanks for watching.
That is one cracker of a trout.
Lovely fishing spot...Travelly Fish is a good fish over on East Coast of Aussie and Expensive...next time put fish in alfoil with lemon water white wine and pepper U want look back...😂😂😂
@@karenjoy7557 thanks for the tip, hopefully will be back in that spot tommorow and if im lucky will give it a try. Thanks for watching !
Balla Balla was my favourite fishing and crabbing spot in Pilbara, was even better when Whim CK hotel was still operating, spent 20 years in district always likes camping weekends.Pulled plenty barr, jacks and muddies over years.
@@rosskennedy roger that mate, is my fav spot to fish. Was there last weekend and although didnt get alot of strikes i tboroughly enjoyed tbe day. Cheers for watching mate!!
I note your Pagero, I'm looking to buy a car I currently have a nissan navara, which I've been happy with for the past 6 years , but it's starting to break down. So I've been thinking about a Pagero, I was wondering if you would mind doing a run down on your car, especially where you fit everything.
@@tullysika Hi Malcolm, thanks for subscribing mate 👍 I have not really set up the Pajero that well as yet. I have just roughly installed a Ridge Ryder single drawer with a fridge slide. The 40lr fridge and battery box sit on top of that. Looking to install a second drawer soon. I have a solar panel on the roof rack to keep the battery topped up.The Pajero has a good size recess in the back that houses the back seats in the floor They can come out and give you heaps of room underneath for storage. My Pajero is a 2011 NT 3.8lt V6 petrol. Really heavy on fuel consumption which is common for these. Find a diesel if you can, but regardless the Pajero's are great 4x 4's mate. This one is my 5th one. If you want to look them up in detail and get tips on set up etc go to Budget 4x4 Life on you tube. He sells accesories as well. Link is youtube.com/@budget4x4life?si=y6yEEmlnwQzaRX5b
Awesome Trev! So many big fish close to shore, never discount working inside a reef.
@@tin-yetti cheers mate, yeah i learnt that lesson well!!
Cracking vid mate. Shame you had to leave when the fishing was so good! Loving the content and you'll be at 1k in no time 👍
Cheers mate, we will try again soon hopefully. Thanks for watching
For all the camper trailer issues, the Pajero seems to be able to handle the trips?
Yeah mate, apart from a loose fan cowl on tbe radiator we cannot fault the Pajero. The 3.8 petrol is a bit heavy on fuel but we love it. Thanks for watching mate
Top video
@@WiliamRae thanks mate, appreciate it, glad you enjoyed.
Nice Video crew well done, living the dream! Lovely trevally, they are better on the tooth than most people realise. Great to see you repaired and back on the road. Keep up the good work. Stay safe, have fun! 👍🐟😁🍻
@@Dstick1Spearfishing thanks mate for the support appreciate it. It was pretty good on the chew to be honest and it turned out to be the only legal fish on the trip which why we decided to hanf onto it. Glad we did. Cheers
@@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 Surprising hey, Think there is a lot of people talking and not a lot of people trying LOL. Another fish that surprised me was Cobia. Looks like cat food when you carve it up, but it again is damn nice chewing! Have fun, stay safe! 👍🐟😁🍻
Cobia is 👌 Top shelf
I love this spot, fishing is amazing
@@KellieHayes-u4i yeah lets go again ❤️❤️
Was the bolt that snapped high tensile steel? Must have a fault in it hey? How bad have the flys been this year , but not bad enough to wear a fly net LOL! Soft. (Says the bloke who lost his to a kid) Infuriating flys, in the ears and up the nose were so aggressive! Great video, very entertaining, Stay safe, have fun! 😁👍🍻
Yeah mate it was, apparently. Up for new shocks and bushes as well. Yeah flies were next level mate. Thanks for watching
Everyone books but only half go, so many people miss out on holidays up there cos people book and don't go but don't cancell there booking! Some people book two spots then pick the best one,so ahit
Yeah it's out of control mate for sure
Was up that way 4 weeks ago, a number of people not letting tyres down, travelling at crazy speeds. There was 6 destroyed trailers ripped out the suspension, 2 rolled vehicles. Was doing my head in watching people thinking you need to send it up sand dune tracks, when letting your tyres down and using low range to crawl up not roar and bounce and dig massive holes and belly out is what you need to be doing. And the corregations due to locked diffs and hard tryes - what is going on?? We had to go down to 11 psi and and use low lock and 1st to hual in 2 tonnes. The bottom is hard, no need to go stupid. But all that track damage means people like yourselves doing the right thing are crucified as well. So feel your pain. Funny you should mention how many sites are free. Talking to a ranger, so many are booked and people do not come as they are booked months before. Good news is that unless some one legs it in to the turn off and over nights it , chances of being "that guy" are really rare! Loved the video, well done, great to seeing you did not lose your sense of humour! Stay safe, have fun!👍👍😁🍻
Hey mate, hope you are well! Looking back at the issues we had, it was not too bad considering what you have described what other travellers have gone through. Our main concern was just that, doing a heap of damage to the point where we couldnt move. Not knowing when the ranger may drop through or someone else come out. To be honest im keen to get back up there as it was a cracking spot and we really didnt make the most of the area. Would have been nice to get a line in the water as well. Next time mate. Thanks for watching!!👍
Dmax ISUZU you must turn traction control off when engaging 4 wheel drive
Yeah that would be handy in the Pajero. I have ordered a wiring mod and switch that allows me to turn it off once installed. Thanks for watching mate.
Can you switch the traction control off ? My Hilux caught me out a few times on sand in high range 4X4 when I forgot to turn it off
No unfortunately it cannot be turned off. You can get aftermarket wiring loom that allows a switch to be installed which is what most pajero owners go for. We will be orferimg that.
I want my spanner back
😆😆😆😆
your vid was as epic as Ronny Dahl’s one on the weekend - great stuff!
Hey Jack, legend mate thanks for the compliment. Enjoy Ronny's vids heaps. The podcast is pretty good too. Do you listen to that? Cheers mate, thanks for watching.
damn another casualty for the steep point track 🤣🤣🤣🤣 great vid mate, magic spot when its not windy as balls lol.... will be up there filming veryyyy soooon....🤙🤙🤙🤙
Yeah got us good mate, cant wait to go again. I thought the Ningaloo roads were bad but this road was full on. Bet your looking forward to getting up there, enjoy and thanks again for watching 👍
@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 absolutely, have always been up North in the windy season, so this could be a magic change
Sounds like a proper adventure Chris 🤙🏽
It was mate and i'm keen to head back there and give it another go....in a 79 series 😆
what do you catch most of, redfin or yellow perch ?
Hey mate thanks for watching. All redfin from this Dam. No yellow perch in that waterway j believe. Are the yellow perch similar looking to the reds?
Hi Mate I’ve got the black series Patron I check on a weighbridge fully loaded and it was 1.6ton not including the ball weight. I changed the poly hitch to do35. Why do you want 16 inch on your Pajero? Is it because your tyre bead came off. I have 18 on my triton I can’t go smaller than 17 as rims won’t fit over the brakes. Cheers keep up the good work Lindsay
Hey Lindsay, yes looking at the DO 35 as well mate, price is comparible to a new McHitch so prefer to go that way. Yes with the 18's we cannot drop the tyre pressure too low without rolling a bead or damaging the rim. The rear tyres at low pressure look scary flat at 12psi with the rear weight and i was surprised we didnt do a rear bead as well. The main issue was the traction control in the Pajero. It doesnt work well in sand and you cannot turn it off. There is a bypass switch that can be fitted to sort it. Going up hill was really tough and had to give plenty of right foot to get up. Yep, pretty sure we can only go 17's now on the Pajero as well. Do the Tritons have the traction control issues as well? Thanks for watching and commenting mate, cheers
Aah, the fun and joy of camping off road
Hey Russel hows things mate? Yeah looking back we should have just stayed put. We are going to have to go back there for sure. Been up that way yourself?
Lovin the vid's Chris.
Cheers Cats
Great vid guys. Love the fact that you are both smiling and not stressing out. Enjoying each others company and show casing the place for us. Done one with some solid engineering with that spanner. Great job 😜😜👌
Cheers mate, thanks. A couple of lessons learnt 1..buy a 79 series 2.. leave the go pro running so the real action and swearing can be included 😁
@@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 😂😂😂 The 79 are a great bit of kit. But the Pajero’s are mint too. Yep. The go pro running can definitely capture some colourful stuff when it get exciting can’t it 😜😜😜
You in karratha mate?
Sure are mate
Do these lures dive as you reel them in or stay near the surface
The Poltergeist lures dive for sure so you have to allow them to float up as you are winding in
Just when i had given up, you get one first crack 😂. Do me a favour and catch one in the system near the strelley river west and Maitland river so i can keep the dream alive.
Challenge accepted 😊 will have to wait until september i reckon. Surprised myself getting one that trip, wasnt even expecting to pull that in. Very happy
@@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 God speed my friend. I want to know my efforts weren't for nothing! Too chicken shit to tackle the creeks north of town. Tracks there look perfect size to swallow a ford ranger. But it seems thats where people get them.
@@Andrewdoesbass dont blame you mate, not worth sinking your vehicle for a fish
Nice looking bit of water you got there mate. Think we will be seeing you pull a few fish from your new 'hood.
Yeah hope so mate, lining up a day off when the weather is good is a bit of a lottery. Weather should settle in the weeks to follow.
Great to see a vid pop up from you mate. Great session - your excitement and commentary is fantastic to watch!
Thanks mate, i knew the barra would be out there but had zero expectation on getting one. I thought it was a GT at first but was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit impatient getting it in the kayak as well, could have easliy dropped it haha
Not in Hedland anymore, nice selection of fish in that session. Gotta love the Pilbara🤟🤟
Hey Russel, yeah working out of Karratha now mate. Looking forward to spending more time in the area. Had the option to work back in Perth but not ready to leave the Pilbara just yet.
@@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 Make the most of it, great part of the state. Would love to go back up for a visit again. Loved that area when i worked in Hedland many moons ago

Yeah mate for sure, i was stoked with the session before a caught the barra hey
Got to love the Jacks
Love em mate
awesome video, all the information i needed!
Awesome mate, glad it helped. Cheers
Hi. Can I please ask how far offshore you caught these fish? Thank you Cameron
Hi mate, about 60kms from memory, cheers
They are all introduced species some states say put Redfin back others not. I take all Redfin home good eating depends on the state follow rules.
Fantastic eating fish for sure, thanks for watching and your feedback, appreciate it. Hoping to get back out on the water soon.
Its simple. Do the right thing and DON'T throw them back. Creators should be showing the right thing. My understanding of the rules is its a requirement to not return them. It may not be illegal but do you want to push the issue with authorities?
Hey Julian thanks for your input mate, appreciate it.
All worth the effort mate 👌👌
Nothin better mate, hopefully its not the last for the season 👍
its suggested not throw them back its best practice but throwing one back aint going to change things lol
Yep couldnt agree more, thanks for watching 👍
@@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 I allways invison people are thinking your going to do something like throw one back and a ranger will fly in on a chopper with armed police 🤣
Not asking for spots, mainly advice. Do you rate the barra fishing around Karratha? Been trying my luck around the creeks south and north and cant seem to get any luck. I imagine they're around but i just cant seem to get it right. Fished slack, incoming, outgoing and dead lows with livies and lures but maybe its something im doing wrong. Any advice would be appreciated. The word is there is nothing in southern creeks but north seems to produce more. Killer videos btw :)
Mate, ive been fishing the Pilbara on and off for the last 15 years and only really dialled in the barra in the last 2 -3 years. A bit of help from mates goes along way for sure. Neap tides in a tinny you can troll close to creek mouths and structure. Look for outcrops or rockbars. . Sometimes locking yourself in a creek for a day or night to find the spots is the way to go. A kayak is good as you can go most places in all tides but its not for everyone. Again, look for holes that have rock bars or outcrops and dont be afraid to swim to places you think may hold fish if your landbased. Plastic vibes work well, let them sink close to structure or bottom to get into the zone. I have always done better on incoming tides but this vid was outgoing. Been back to that spot a few times since and not a barra to be seen. Lucky that day mate for sure. Keep trying north of Ktown mate, but i heard last season was good on the south side.
@@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 legend, appreciate it! Very secretive group you Pilbara lot but this is already more help than I've got from people here. I'll be going land based for now, got young fit legs so a walk doesn't scare me. Thanks again mate, appreciate the advice. I'll keep at it!
Pleasure mate, thanks for watching
From 2000 to 2005 I was operations manager for shire roebourne,so I knew 99 percent of roads, tracks and best muddies and fish stops for land base.
