    One thing I would add: on Rexes (possibly other creatures, not sure), a mutated stat is much less likely to mutate than an unmutated stat. From what I could tell, it appears that the odds of getting a mutation on a mutated stat are between 10% and 20% of the odds of a mutation on a non-mutated stat. So in that way, the game DOES remember which stats are mutated. This doesn't seem to be the case for gigas, but is DEFINITELY the case for Rexes and Theri's. The devs probably did this because rexes are the usual boss tame.

    If you want to keep the female line clean how is it possible. If you have a mutated male Rex with melee and one with health, In order to get them into one male Rex you’d have to breed it with a female, the female would then breed until a female is born with one of the traits so the other male can breed with it combining the 2 new mutated stats wouldn’t that give the female line mutations? If you want a male Rex to pass on its mutated stats to get a god tier male Rex you’d have to breed with males in order to cross breed the 2 sexes to get all the stats rolled into a single male. So wouldn’t this fuck the female mutation score? I don’t get how to get all mutated stats into ONE male without causing the female line to have to pass some mutations on

    He did say if things change he would post updates. But things have changed and no update comment. So I will list the changes Now the 450 cap is just a hard cap you can't level past it, rather than the despawn There is a way to clean out mutation score to zero. it has to do with integer overflow errors. and now you can level a pet 73 times so the best wild level is 377

      Hi I respect a great video and alot of your information is awesome for a new breeder and up to 15min this video is very good however. Im sorry to say your wrong but we (5 of us playing on a privet server) have found some info and tested it . This takes ages to do but .... when you take the mutation stats over 2,1 billion so 2,160,500,400/20 and 2,160,500,400/20 Anything over 2,1billion and mate them together the game can't cope and changes it from a + number to a - so a negative number this dino now can be mutated however .now it gets more confusing and you have to watch the integer and make sure the dino stays a negative because two negatives make a positive! . But one of our guys found out that you can breed this backwards so just for example breeding a 2 billion negative dino with one just before they went negative so . 2.1 billion positive this will half the negative dino but keep it negative. Making it now a 1 billion . Now you can't breed that back again as it will flip the integer and go positive but if you kept the positive dinos from before this is 33 generations by the way to get to negative. You can breed a say +500 million with the -1 billion this will be a -500 million now and keep going that way down to -1 then its much easier to control and these dinos can mutate all the way through this process. My mate is amazing at math and I'm not but I've followed his advice and it works so well . But is hard work and time consuming. But that said he now has a base level rex at level 677 and crazy stats before imprinting at helth of over 20 thousand and melee over 750 then and he hasn't finished by far yet lol 😆 ... sorry for saying your wrong as this is a good video . As a TH-cam creator myself I hate these types of comments but maybe you can do another one and include this crazy stats idea ? I don't have any ark TH-cam videos on my channel or I would do it but would be kinda pointless as no one plays ark that subscribes to me lol

    When an unmutated female mutates a stat from the male with over 20/20 on its counter, does the baby have 1/20 on the maternal side? Or does it increase the paternal side by 1

    • @MaverickCaliJ
      @MaverickCaliJ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know it's a bit late to respond - but my understanding is that it would mutate on the maternal side. That said, it doesn't matter, because you then have that child dino breed with a 0/20 female and therefore still get the mutation roll chance. The mutation score of your male dino does not seem to matter whatsoever.

  • @ujustinree2987
    @ujustinree2987 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So with your strategy I would have: Male Rex with all mutations, we'll say all the stats are around 80 currently. Female Rex with no mutations, we'll say all the stats are around 45. Now I breed those together, I understand that the female can mutate the male rex, although with a 55% chance of failure because the male is above 20 mutations. But wouldn't I also need to be lucky in getting all desired stats(from the male rex)? Say I wanted to focus melee, stamina, and health. I get a mutation on health, but I get the worse stamina stat from the female. Is this just lost or is there something I can do to correct this?

  • @TonkaCabinetMaker

    So.... I’m breeding a mut male with several prefect unmutated females. Swapping out the male whenever I get a usable stat mutation. Question. When I get a useable stat mutation in a female how do I get that stat into a male whilst still leaving my mutation stacked on the male side? Because when you breed a mut male with a mut female the mutation point will have x/20 amount in dads side and 1/20 on mums. This is the only part I can’t get my head round.

    • @charda1741
      @charda1741 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You just breed that new female with the Alpha Male until you get another male with the stats you want. Then you continue the first process of mating the New Male with all tho unmutated females you had in the beginning.

    I use this method to breed now for about half a year. I am just wondering if i get everything right. For example: I use my Breed Rexes which have both the best stats and are level 254. Then if i get another Mutation i will change the male and the next level is 256. If i now produce eggs the dinos can be either 254, 256 and 258. So i am looking to get a 258. But sometimes i get color mutations with 256. So could i use those to breed the line too? Cause there is a stat not shown. Could it be shown (by that i mean "active" mutation of stat) in the babys? I am confused. Cause this would make my breeding way faster! :) Hope to get some answer. BTW Love your Video. It is just the best out there. Thank you! <3

    First off This guide was extremeley helpful and i learned alot. Best explanation i have come across for breeding in Ark. I do however have 1 confusing thing as the server cluster i play on where people who follow this told me and i want to confirm as it kinda contradicts whats said in the video. to explain thoroughly i have a Male rex with 1 Paternal Mutation so far into melee. It is sitting at 54 Melee. Now i use the ss Mutators and send 2 pulses when i breed so i get 4 points instead of 2. Now i had a Male baby come out to 58 Melee which is the mutation i want however it showed in stats when checking that it is now 1Maternal and 1Paternal. The people who shared this video to me to watch and use also told me that if its the Male then its fine i can continue using it however the video states not use dinos with Maternal Mutations so i am at a confusing Impass. Any advice on this from anyone?

    first thing i thought of when he said its "buggy" was Its not Buggy ITS A FEATURE! =d , But in all honesty I REALLY found your video helpful even though its 3 years old. This is by far the best video out there. some constructive suggestions: maybe put a small segment on how to build the optimal breeding structure. I.e since the mating range is a sphere how i could get the most female rexes to breed with the 1 stud rex. I get that that isnt the point of this video but im sure that theres an optimal build and method to it. Like for example using baby females in the breeding space to fit more rexes since they are smaller and you can compact more in one area. etc either way thumbs up and subbed.

    If you wanna mutate stats infinitely you should mention: keep your females clean (0/20) to avoid messing up somewhere down the line; breed your dino's until you get exactly the same stats on both a male and a female before mutating. So when if you breed your mutated male with your clean females and you hatch a mutated female, you can breed the mutated female with your clean male you hit first until you get the mutation passed onto a male. Then you replace your previously mutated male with the fresh one, and store away the clean male you used to pass the mutation onto a male dino. Keep the clean male tho as you will always have to repeat this process whenever you hatch a mutated female, to keep your massbreeding females clean & 0/20 (:

    • @stuntman014
      @stuntman014 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So if I made a clean breeding pair with the combined stats of the wild tamed creatures and they are both 0/20, does that mean when I have mutated stats, I am using the same original breeding pair I started with to keep getting males? So like a level 280 breeding pair and every time I mutate I use the 280 females to breed throughout the entire process?

    • @SpeedpekaVEVO
      @SpeedpekaVEVO 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stuntman014 yes. Always keep/use your 'base' females (aka your starting point, with merged unmutated stats). Every time u get the mutation u want, if it's a male perfect, if it's a female breed it with your 'base' male until you get a male with the mutated stats, then put that with your base females again. Also note that you want to keep mutated stats seperately until you're satisfied with their stats; so if you wanna mutate health and damage you need two separate areas to do so, and both need to have base females. If not you will hit that 20 mutation 'cap' (not a hardcap, just alot more rare to get more mutations after that) and therefor prolong the whole process even further

    What I still dont get is, when I have a Male 123/20 and a Female 19/20 means that their Child can get a 124/20 from the Father and a 19/20 from the Mother? So that means that only one of the Parents has to be under 20/20?

    • @deathwrow9652
      @deathwrow9652 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes? - what it means is the Male will not trigger a mutate, but the female can still trigger a mutation. This means you would, without a mutation, get 142/20 (lets say it came out as a male) Male dino. If it mutates, it would mutate the mother side to 20/20, and then be a 143/20, however you could still breed back with the 19/20 female, and still get more mutations. Though ultimately, this is why people keep 0/20 Females, because you're just breeding for males, and hoping for the 55% chance for higher stat, and then getting a male, and then mutating the stat you're looking for. Then you breed that male as your new alpha male, and hope for it all over again. This is how you can, over a shit ton of time and breeding, get extremely high stats, any males that aren't strictly better than yours? You dump them, or just set them aside for actual tribe use. Females? Also end up dumped, etc. Because your females can't be bred back into your alpha male. Not if you want mutations, at least. And since 1 male can mate with 1000 0/20 females, its easier to keep males in the long run.

    I have a question, not sure if you could help me please. I have watched this video several times now and am trying to soak all the information in but I'm not understanding something that just happened. I only have just over 800h on ARK in total and have recently been playing extinction on a private server. I had never gotten into breeding before but am in the process of starting to breed velonasaurs. The parents of one were 240 and 242. Both parents were raised by me and those are their base levels. There were no other previous mutations at all. I was only trying to breed my best base stats I have so far into a male. But.... This one offspring came out 252....which is 10 levels higher than its highest level parent. It shows one mutation on the mothers side. It has an obvious boost in HP as well as an obvious colour change. I'm just not sure about the base level being so much higher like that. I had thought that 1 mutation would increase the base level by 2. I also thought that you could only have 3 mutations in an offspring at one time. But it almost seems like it received 5 mutations as the level went up by 10. I'm just a bit confused as this is all totally new to me and I could send screenshots of everything if it would be helpful. I'd appreciate any insight into this you can offer. Thank you

      Lets say the mother had 30 points in all 7 stats. The father had 30HP, 30 Stam, 30 Ox, 40 Weight, 20 food, 30 MD, and 30 Speed. The sum of the mothers stats is 210 (30*7) + 1 (the base level), so the mother is 211. The sum of the father is also 210 (30+30+40+20+30+30) + 1 for base level. These two level 211 dinos mate, and the baby gets the 40 weight from the father, and the 30 food from the mother. The baby is 30+30+40+30+30+30 = 220 + 1. Level 221 from two level 211 parents, with no mutations.
