Padborg Park, 14.9.2018. Stock exhaust, Öhlins steering damper installed, Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 2. Tyres warmed up at around 04:00. 2 breaking hick-ups at 04:37 and 07:38, but overall it was really good fun. My best lap, starting at 11:23, was 1:15:50.
Thank you !! I get my 1200 s in the next week !! Being shipped to me .
which is the action cam that you use in this video? thanks
GoPro Hero5 Session
Sounds pretty good for a stock exhaust! How does it ride and has it got strong torque in low rpm?
Timothy Mortier its amazing to ride and the punch is comparable to a v2 in low rpm. (Plus the insane power between 4000 and 14000... :-/)
@@dirkdigglerroyal wow, that's really impressive for such a high revving engine! Better start saving for this next year or maybe I get a great deal on a showroom bike haha Thank god I still got my Street triple RS till then!
Is this the stock exhaust ? Thanks for the video !
yes it is
Hey, I know its been a long time, but, how did feel it? how good is that bike for curves? how well does the chasis manage bivrations and speed? i have a bmw s1000r and want to switch to a monster 1200s, I know its less HP but looks way funnier to ride. Thanks!
JuanSQuiP hi, i think the s1000r might be the better performing bike stock tbh. If you want to use the monster on track u definitely have to work on the fork. The normal Öhlins comes with 8nm spings which is waay to soft. U gotta change them to at least 10nm, depending on ur weight. Also consider changing the shims package in the fork, since rebound and compression is barley adjustable. If u do that and put some Diablo Rosso Corsa 2 (or better) on it, it’s a furious and fun track beast. Loads of fun and emotion. My advice: change it :-)
@@dirkdigglerroyal Thanks for the input man, might change it in the near future ^^
@@JuanSQuiP Great! please post your progress, curious what you think about it. happy riding! :-)
this definetly is Urban Mode ride
hehe yeah, it kinda was :-)
Hi! What were your engine settings? I see you use the full touring display. What tires did you have on? I have a 1200 and I'd like to go to a track day in the near future. Thanks!
Hi Axe991, I used the standard sport settings, no manual adjustments. These worked really well for me. I just changed the display to "full view". I am riding the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 2. An amazing tire, for street and track. I'll try a slick next time though, just want to see see how that compares. I recommend to get the Öhlins adjusted to your weight and style, makes a huge difference! Have fun!
@@dirkdigglerroyal Hey Dino, you lowered tire pressure on wheels?
I had 2.4 bar in the front, in 2.8 bar in the rear. Both measured warm tires.
What’s your impression about this bike? Do you find agile enough for street riding? I’ve got a 2014 1200 S, the seat position is not good for me: low and it doesn’t feel great in handling. The wheelbase is too long. Do you think that the new model could be the best solution for me?
Hi Alessio, The 2017 model handles in my opinion slightly better than the 2014, due to its shorter wheel base. Overall it's a bit more agile. The seating position is similar to the 2014. I love it though. It's obviously not the best or the fastest track day bike, but it's super fun to ride!
Dino Erdmann Very exhaustive, thank you for answering my questions. I hope to find what I’m looking for.
