I didn’t know it at the time but I accidentally left my camera running for the entire time we were out playing!! So were you spotted on our unintentional spotted cam at Rockland? You’ll have to wa...
Crossing Breydon Water | Norfolk Broads | The Yachties
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
We headed out across Breydon water on the Norfolk Broads to see what all the fuss was about and opened Out Out up for the first time, it was amazing and great fun, and we just can’t wait to get her out to sea very soon. As it was our first time and there were other boats on the water we didn’t go crazy and fully open her up but it felt like we were flying even at 15-18 knots. The wind, the (tin...

Exploring The Norfolk Broads - The Southern Rivers | The Yachties
มุมมอง 1.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Join us as we take our first trip out on the Norfolk Broads. We stuck to the southern broads for our first time and set off from Brundall to explore the area. Our aim was to visit Oulton Broad with stops at Loddon and Beccles. We also had to pass through Reedham bridge and Somerleyton bridge. Do you have suggestions for areas we should visit? We are brand new to the broads so any input is great...

We had a sealine statesman 330 as well and sailed her from Poole to Shotley marina via Dover. Went round the back of the IOW which was a bit of a chop. Lost electronic navigation due to sea water so wife had to do manual plot on charts. What great job she did. Thank god we did the Day Skipper courses. I went on to do Yachtmaster. What a great boat sadly had to sell her due to job lose.
Great video and you are berthed in Mercury. I used to be there too.
It’s great to see you are using your boat for what it was made for, coastal trips and not sitting in the marina and used as a floating caravan as many of them are!
Awesome man I can’t wait for the next video 🙏🏻
Such a shame there are no more uploads - looks like it has been an amazing journey!
You are right, it is a shame - I’d ‘followed’ them from afar, but guess what …. I’m now following you and Friday Night, plus of course, your pals Waggies Cruising. Out Out introduced me to flybridge boats after I had sold my ‘bricks and mortar’ holiday properties in Spain, so your pals Sealine 310 is of interest - and your folding radar arch is even more intriguing. Best wishes to the (past and present) crew of Out Out - I’d seen it advertised not so long ago - you are missed 😢.
@@erisaman2 Thank you for your comments and we have some really interesting journeys coming up really soon - yes I am intrigued as to where Out Out are now.. as for my magic folding arch, I keep meaning to get a short filmed and actually find out by whom and when this was done!
I knew that boat looked familiar. It’s for sale.
Congrats, great video. You will love the Solent. We had a new 330 Statesman built in 1996- lovely boat. Be aware though, we then upped to an S37, then S41 and S48!! The sea bug gets you😀 Now pushing 80 and have an S34 much easier to handle!
Beautiful boat enjoy 😉
It’s a nice bit of water Brandon is I love opening up are sealine f34 flybridge 2004 across there warms her up nicely
At 1.30, just after the 1st swing bridge, you cruise past our boat Lightning, moored at Somerleyton. She`s the one with 3 blue ball fenders on the stern, plus a red ensign to the port quarter.
What's the cruising and top speed of the Statesman?
That's awesome 👌
Congratulation on that trip.. We did the same trip although I'm in the itchen.
Hi nice to see your video, have been going on the broads for 40 years and it's nice when you see other People on the broads it's so nice
Hi from a new subscriber, I will catch up on your previous videos and look forward to following you on your journey 👍
Are you using an outboard with it? If so petrol or electric? Is it stable on the water ? Thanks
We use a torqueedo and it’s very stable although we are about to upgrade to a new tender that’s smaller so it fits on the boat a lot better
Just found your channel, enjoying catching up on your videos. We sold our 330 three years ago and I miss it. Will be on the Broads in April hopefully using a friends boat. Keep up the good work….
Thank you
Do you have a video of it in the water and deflating?
We probably have lots of footage to be honest, it’s just finding it. We are about to purchase a new tender very soon and will be sharing lots of videos from the south coast
Beautiful
It certainly was, even more beautiful now we are on the south coast
@@cruisingoutout9692absolutely we go Oulton Broad out to Devon even year lovely trip round the east and south coast
I could probably listen to that music and look at the Sealine for a few hours. Such a beautiful Boat
Thank you, we love it and we’ve just had it re trimmed
Great help 👍
Fab! Glad to hear it was
Thank goodness for those floating pontoons that rise with the water otherwise there may well have been a lot of beached boats and most definitely some damage done
We totally agree. Thankfully a lot of the boats in our marina are on floating pontoons so we were all safe. We took a trip out yesterday heading towards Norwich and saw a couple of boats that were moored on the river that were now underwater! 😭
Lovely boat !
Thanks Trevor, very kind! We love it
The Yachties have you got to the northern broads rivers yet ?. Be interested in how you find it . Currently boat window shopping with a view to purchase in a year or so. Will be only kept on the broads though . Cheers enjoying your story .
We haven’t been onto the northern rivers yet, we are restricted by height in some areas but we are planning to explore the northern rivers very soon. We’ll post it on the channel when do do 😁
The Yachties great look forward to it . Safe travels
Lovely can't wait till March for our turn 🚤🚤🚤
Ah lovely, it’s just amazing isn’t it. I hope you have an amazing time 😊
Brilliant!
Thanks Mark 😁
Hi... glad you enjoyed you first voyage.... did you get to Loddon...?? can imagine it was busy if you did.... @ this time of year..?? Ive been visiting / boating on the Norfolk Broads for some 49 years .... firstly as a child with my parents and now mainly solo boating hires... my last trip being July this year for 11 nights..... There are plenty of places to explore (Loddon being one of my favs) , have you been to Rockland St Mary ..?? only limited moorings but still good to visit. Not sure of the airdraft of your boat? but do you intend to visit the Northern Broads...?? once again.. this time of year it will be crazy busy. I mainly tend to hire in March & October as the moorings are very quiet... especially in March i look forward to seeing your trips... take care & enjoy Neal
Hi Neal, yes we made it to Loddon which we loved, Rockland for a quick pub stop off, Beccles, which again we really liked and Oulton Broad so we got to see lots! We were lucky enough to get moorings everywhere we wanted to get but we used the yacht stations at OB and Beccles to make sure. Our air draft is 13ft 8” dropping to 10ft 8” with our mast down so we know it’s going to be tight getting up north, I’m a little worried about going through Yarmouth bridges to be honest. Any advice you can give us about the broads would be greatly appreciated, it sounds like you have lots of experience! Thanks so much for watching. Kimmi & James 😁
@@cruisingoutout9692 Hi Kimmi & James.. thanks for the reply Glad you made Loddon.. my favorite southern rivers destination and river... the Chet never tires me.... 3mph.. fantastic =o) There are moorings at a fab pub on Oulton Broad rather than the yacht station.... as you approach the Wherry Hotel.. head left for around 200+ feet ??.. there is a pub called The Commodore, has a great pub garden on a small slope & serves great food.. i normally call them to reserve a mooring... not a lot of people know about the moorings so keep it quite =o) As you can gather ,,, i do have a lot of info on the Broads but im no expert on certain things ..therefore on some aspects its best to leave it to the locals like the Broads Authority etc but always willing to help I do have a lot of web pages i use, and one which i find really useful is a live bridge height page that will give you the heights of the bridges at Great Yarmouth which will tell you when it was last updated as well as a graph of the past days showing Neaps & Spring tides (www.broads.bridgeheight.com) I see your boat is moored @ Brundall... have you been to the Ferry House @ Surlingham.. a short cruise from Brundall...headed towards Norwich... Sonia & her team are fantastic... and once again .. great food..... I wont bore you any further, but will look forward to watching your videos... Thanks & take care Neal
Thanks so much for the great tips Neal, we really appreciate it 😊
