I know this wasn't intentional in the slightest, but I think there's a much better potential in-universe explanation for Sidney's wheels turning slower: What if he were a Class 09? The 09 is a variant of the 08 with slightly different gearing, allowing it to travel faster (25mph vs the 08's 15mph), and more obscure engines than that are Thomas characters.

I feel like if the Model Series had continued, Emily and Henry's friendship, relationship, whatever, would have been fleshed out. I see how Emily would bring out the best out of the Big Green Giant, that he only shows when he's alone in the forest. I mean, we all know that Henry can be worse than Gordon at times. But with Emily, someone who she's the best in him, Henry could have changed for the better. He'll still be the same old Henry at times, but it'd be more sparing.

I'll never like HiT Era Emily. Her flaws were too flanderised. I don't really think her being bossy is a good flaw for her. If anything, CGI Emily is better.
