Building Bridges: The Bridges Today Story (Parts 1-7)
มุมมอง 4104 หลายเดือนก่อน
Last July we at Stand Firm had the pleasure of traveling to Peru to meet up with Alejo Molina, the founder of Bridges. Based in Lima, the social ministry Bridges focuses most of their efforts toward serving the population of Pamplona, a "shanty town" that is known for its severe poverty. Encountering the monumental challenges residents of Pamplona face daily and witnessing the joy, relief and m...

A good listen as I prepare for the feast of Christ the King❤
What is the film he mentions?
Im a spiritualist to the fact that I am a native American
Jtesus wad anti religious
I hate to burst your bubble but God did not write the Bible neither did Jesus
Some of my favorite friends are Catholics, but that doesn’t mean I agree with the extra steps. We Protestants have a tough time with the history of this church and it’s non-biblical beliefs
Just what I needed Thank God❤
AMEN 🙏

Beautiful message! Missed y’all 🫶🏼
Thank you for that message. It’s what I needed to hear. Can’t wait for the next episode.
I guess I’m old school I still use a checkbook Fr 😂
Thank you Father! 🙏God bless you for all you do and for sharing God's Word.
I’ve noticed a significant decrease in priests nowadays. I guess it’s for the best.
Very encouraging words of faith from Monsignor James Shea. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺

Stand Firm Productions is an answer to my prayers. I wish i knew Msgr Shea but i live on the east coast. I pray that God gives me the wisdom to serve in this apostolic age. I began a ministry almost 4 years ago. These videos are so helpful to me. Also, i know Lima very well. For years i worked in poor countries including Peru in the area of health care and disease prevention. ❤❤❤
Now listen to what he has to say about Orthodoxy.
i just wanna be left alone has never won a thing in history......always defeated in the end.
Thank you Julie K. for sharing this video. I have reshared.
Thank you!!🙏🏻🙏🏻✝️
The basic reality is that evolution is an enormous non problem for Christianity through the world. One of the first scientists who helped research the theory was a Catholic Clergyman. Evolution is only a problem in America as in America there is a form of Christianity that does not exist in the rest of the world. A belief in biblical inerrancy. This idea is recent coming from the first years of the 20th Century. For the rest of the world who don't believe this there is no conflict between science and religion. Sociology and anthropology are probably more of a problem for religion as they suggest different causes for religion rather than divine intervention but lets not get bogged into a side issue. Philosophy by the way has absolutely no utility to anyone. It provides no answers to anything
Fr. Walsh, We can't have good marriages if we as a Church passively accept artificial birth control. Look at our society. Contraception has completely altered our understanding of sexuality and marriage. Please, it needs to be talked about! Bless you and thank you! ❤
Love listening to Father Dosch!
Yes, indeed to all of the above comments of appreciation. I became known of Msng. James Shea through NEC this July. Since then I googled his past You Tube’s and learned the answers to many questions about our current era which gave hope and encouragement to pursue witnessing Jesus Christ in every opportunity where the Holy Spirit leads. Many are receptive and thankful for the move of the HS.❤ Thank you, Monsignor James Shea.

James 1:27 - Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. Isaiah 58:6-10 - Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: Matthew 11:30 - For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
This is an American thing. Countries in Europe don't make it a political battlefront. That's because countries in Europe accept evolution. And well, countries in Europe have long since been fed up with religious-based wars. If you want to tell me snakes talk and apples and a story about a magic apple and how women are bad, I won't listen. Ever.
I'm a very strong advocate for accepting evolution as a Christian. As Christians we are required to accept the resurrection of Christ, not the literal truth of Genesis. It's not an all or nothing proposition.
Thanks for speaking out. This staunch atheist doesn't understand why YHWH couldn't have used evolution to create the variety of species as we know it.
Could you give the name of the book
Lord, please don’t forget to like and subscribe.
Just what we need. Energy and joy to face every life's obstacle.
I had to stop watching this video. You could have told the storyt and been clean about it. I don't like gross stories, not fitting for anyone much less a Priest.
Luther did not deny the real presence. From the Defence of the Ausburg Confession: Article X. Of the Holy Supper. 54 The Tenth Article has been approved, in which we confess that we believe, that in the Lord’s Supper the body and blood of Christ are truly and substantially present, and are truly tendered, with those things which are seen, bread and wine, to those who receive the Sacrament. This belief we constantly defend, as the subject has been carefully examined and considered. For since Paul says, 1 Cor. 10:16, that the bread is the communion of the Lord’s body, etc., it would follow, if the Lord’s body were not truly present, that the bread is not a communion of the body, but only of the spirit of Christ. 55 And we have ascertained that not only the Roman Church affirms the bodily presence of Christ, but the Greek Church also both now believes, and formerly believed, the same. For the canon of the Mass among them testifies to this, in which the priest clearly prays that the bread may be changed and become the very body of Christ. And Vulgarius, who seems to us to be not a silly writer, says distinctly that bread is not a mere figure, but 56 is truly changed into flesh. And there is a long exposition of Cyril on John 15, in which he teaches that Christ is corporeally offered us in the Supper. For he says thus: Nevertheless, we do not deny that we are joined spiritually to Christ by true faith and sincere love. But that we have no mode of connection with Him, according to the flesh, this indeed we entirely deny. And this, we say, is altogether foreign to the divine Scriptures. For who has doubted that Christ is in this manner a vine, and we the branches, deriving thence life for ourselves? Hear Paul saying 1 Cor. 10:17; Rom. 12:5; Gal. 3:28: We are all one body in Christ; although we are many, we are, nevertheless, one in Him; for we are, all partakers of that one bread. Does he perhaps think that the virtue of the mystical benediction is unknown to us? Since this is in us, does it not also, by the communication of Christ’s flesh, cause Christ to dwell in us bodily? And a little after: Whence we must consider that Christ is in us not only according to the habit, which we call love, 57 but also by natural participation, etc. We have cited these testimonies, not to undertake a discussion here concerning this subject, for His Imperial Majesty does not disapprove of this article, but in order that all who may read them may the more clearly perceive that we defend the doctrine received in the entire Church, that in the Lord’s Supper the body and blood of Christ are truly and substantially present, and are truly tendered with those things which are seen, bread and wine. And we speak of the presence of the living Christ [living body]; for we know that death hath no more dominion over Him, Rom. 6:9 (Source: bookofconcord.org/defense/of-the-holy-supper/ )
