Hey all! We are Jamie and Nicole.
We used to live in SEQ working a typical 9-5 but decided that that wasn't for us. So, we quit the jobs, sold the house and majority of our belongings! Then we fixed our vintage Toyotas' and bought a boat (we know nothing about boats!).
Oh, I nearly forgot.. Then we bought a house 18hrs away.. In Far North Queensland.
Now we are exploring around our new home on land in Far North Queensland in our old Toyotas and via the sea in our tinny!
Follow along to see our adventures!

where have you gone?! whats the crack with your new 1hz head
Hey mate, thanks for sharing your build process. How’d you go about getting every bit of aluminium shavings out after drilling the holes for rivets? 😂 good to see you using tefgel between your (i assume stainless) rivets and the floor.
Did well to get it done in short time mate. Looks mad. did you cut the rust out and weld in new pieces ?
Hi Rod, yeah I got my buddy to fix her up. He had a piece of troopy rear quarter that we cut a piece out of and bent it up👍 Thanks for watching!
Yeh thats the go.. I am doing similar with mine.. I have trouble weld it.. I keep blowing holes in it .. because it's so thin.. doing my head in
You've done the best build 9n U toob bud well done inspirational and proffessional
Shovel nose good eating with a beer batter 🤤
Nice boat setup mate time to Get Some
Why do you silicon the rivets?
You guys are funny and the best couple camping out...
Hi Jamie, Thanks for the videos your posting. 3mm plate for the deck. What thickness did you use for the supporting angle/T pieces/ U sections? Also 3mm? Regards
Hy Schoultzie, yes mate, everything was 3mm. Thanks for watching🤙
Nice...!!! 🤔🤔🤔... Milwaukee M12 Riveter...!!!😉👍🏾✌🏾
Hello from the US. This is one of the most helpful videos I have seen on the 1HZ. I have a 1992 80 series with a 1HZ motor
Bloke.. corepit.
Nice job on tinny....gives me a few ideas when i start mine shortly cheers Paul from Melbourne
Beautiful job = beautiful boat !!! Way to go...
You legends have built a sick rig! Great to see some creative ideas like the carpet panels on the roof and the updated colour scheme inside, it looks absolutely mint! Funnily enough, I have been doing up our ‘99 75 series Wendy, and the kids decided on the exact inverse colour scheme from Snoop, so we’ve gone with black hand rolled raptor on the body and next up is the raptor sandy taupe tint on the lid 😁 I was a bit sus on the vinyl and plastic paint in the interior but it looks fantastic 🤙 might have to take it into consideration 😆 Cheers for the videos! Love the channel name as well 🤣 shows that you guys love Snoop like we love our Wendy!
Hey mate thickness plate did u use
Hey Blake, 3mm plate👍.
@@IgnoreTheRust legend. Smick build champ stuff the welder lol
@@IgnoreTheRust What livebait tank insert do you have? cheers
wouldn't happen to have a list of what aluminium sections/sizes you purchased mate?.. just watched both videos and what a great job.. interested in doing my own but unsure on material sizes
Hey guys! I'm from just up the road in Tully and love what you guys are doing! Hopefully see you guys down there for a fish one day - Meunga is where dad and I usually fish
Really enjoyed this build.
Hahaha.. I'm also not a mechanic, and I have also been fighting my whipper snipper for the last 6 months...
Looks great
After a few hours of repairing holes in a new cheapy tinny. Im.glad to see you use tef gel and sikaflex. The idiot b4 me put screws and rivets in holes. All that did was cause more corrosion.
Hi free thinkers, always do compression test diagnose engine condition. What was your engine compression?
Bugger... Did you get it sorted? Cheers
We did! We are all ready for more adventures in Snoop! 😀
@@IgnoreTheRust awesome
Did you have a hard time getting it all back together? I'm about to undertake the same job. Also not a mechanic.
Well done great work.
Hey mate what kind of siliconch did you use?
Fuckin beaut! Good stuff mate.
Thanks for watching mate.👍
Thanks for this video. I have a HZJ77 and have alot of sludge in my manifold. thanks to your video I know I feel better taking my 1HZ apart when I do my timing belt. Also where did you get that manual? I really need to find one.
What knife holder is that? and where did you get it? thanks!
Hey mate! Got it at Road tech marine, it's a ripper!
Do you have any fuel gauge or how do you keep an eye on it being under the deck?
Hey mate, the tank has a dodgy gauge on top but I always fill the tank up before heading out (25L) and carry a spare 10L to be safe.
Great job bro !!What are the brackets holding the two seats ?? I need a couple
Hey mate, you can get them from Anaconda. They are Ok, they have some sideways movement even when tightened right up, but are fine for now. Thanks for watching!
Its not a shovel nosed shark its a guitar fish more closely related to rays and skates.
Makes you wonder how far behind the manufacturers are in fitting out boats.
Awesome build mate thanks for sharing! Do you recall the brand of the storage box in the seat, it looks great.
Thanks mate, it is the glovebox that came with the stacer from factory.👍
@@IgnoreTheRust cheers mate
Good clip guys. Is there many mozzies or midgies at Crystal? Toomulla is good too
Just midgies at the beach at mutarnee, but heaps of mozzies further up crystal at big and little crystal creek.
Should of painted the hinges black or grey
You beauty! Good job legends, love it
Right back at you mate, love your work!🙌
Awesome thanks so much!
Shilhs whipper snipper.....overrated 😂😂😂😂....but your effort is highly commendable. I put a brand new head on my 1HZ Troopy. The timing belt tensioner failed..100km or every 3 years which ever comes first......6 years was last done. My fault. But this old girl is tight and rock solid again💖💖
Great work. My 80's 1hz has just ticked over 700 k km's a little while ago. No turbo on it. Works well for an old motor. AC has never worked.
Change the saw or blade, thats why it's flicking chunks back at you
Looks like ya had fun making this video.
Mate I boat build for a living and i tell you that this is pretty damn impressive. I dont know how much all that aluminium cost you but its great to see you took your time. Well done mate.
Thanks for the kind words mate🍻
Totally agree what a professional job hey .
good one mate you bought a dinghy and you fitted it out 👍
Is that 12volts system man
Yes mate, it is.👍
Grate to see you doing your own job I got my own hj45 to I wish i could get a 12ht for it thanks for your video nothing if impossible man
Thanks mate!
Bloody good job Bunge
All the leaks, oil and coolant indicate its been getting too hot. Check cores, cooling and airconditioning for bees , seeds etc. Spot lights and various obstacles in the path of the air flow. Good quality oils, change oil and filter every 5k
Cool build. One suggestion: instead of the foam and then screwing the floor down you could use 3M VHB double sided tape. Super strong. I've used it for offroad trailer floors and it sticks like nothing else. No need for fasteners and it would do the same job as the foam as well. You only get one chance when gluing the sheet down though.
