Didn't see voltage regulator or rectifier on your list, also there's a 100ohm resistor within the ignition switch wiring that reduces voltage down to 5 or 6v to the ecu, allowing the start command...soldier on
@toddjones1286 yeah both were checked but eventually replaced anyway
Thank you brother 🙏 I needed this much love
I'm sorry but I have to disagree quiting is just part of it truly comes from not putting God first
I respect your opinion
Check the resistor on the black wire for the ignition switch Theirs a resistor about 1”” away from the contact at key switch. It’s delicate and it breaks. It’s under the heat shrink. It was broken on mine but didn’t find it til I tugged the wire. It came apart I put it back together and the bike fired right up. Good luck
@MacMartin-u2q yeah I checked tested and replaced that- I replaced the entire ignition system to no avail...ended up dropping a different engine and wiring my own harness from scratch and it runs now
Have you fixed the issue? Would it be the rectifier? @@shuttersplainin8728
Love your videos
@@Elcazador530 thank you! I appreciate it!
What type of seats and back rest are those
@@choheadmusic8460 they were Corbin seats
@shuttersplainin8728 thanks I had figured it out but I still appreciate the response
What size was the Allen key to take it off the two mounting bolts darling.. and thank you for sharing your the absolute best.. nobody else has this video on TH-cam
@Elcazador530 I apologize I don't remember and I have sold the bike a couple months ago now.
Recently subbed your channel. Not a lot of mechanical royalstar videos out there. I make mechanical and riding videos too. Good work, the royalstar venture is an under rated bike!
@@kevin6154 it really was a great bike! I miss it!
@shuttersplainin8728 replacement for my gl1500. Love me some Honda, but damn they are a bugger to work on!! Even something as simple as checking the oil requires removing 2 plastic panels. Almost 2 hours to change the oil and air filter. I got a lot of TH-cam footage off of that goldwing though. To the point of the locals thinking I'm the "goldwing guy" and sending work I don't have time to do my way lol.
@kevin6154 oh I feel your pain with the Hondas! Anytime someone asks me to work on a honda I'm cringing because yes everything takes so long due to removing other things to get to whatever you need to service or repair. But yes yamahas have a special place in my heart. I'll probably own one again but for now I'm running a 2012 street glide my husband got me for my birthday cause he's a harley snob lol so anyway yeah got to put a lot of miles on it before I can weazle in another yamaha to my garage 😆 🤣
@@shuttersplainin8728 girlfriend does not like my dyna. Royalstar is gonna be a beater bike. Depending on how things go in the next few months I may buy a new or newer ultra classic. Kinda tired of working on them.
Better late than never. Oh, the lovely mikuni carb "won't run after rebuild" issue! I have been down this road many many many times. These mikuni carbs are so simple too. Mine, and maybe yours, has a screw that sits on top of the needle jet circuit, inside the fuel bowl. Big brass sucker. It threads into a D shaped passage. But a teeny little pin is needed to hold the D shape in position. What happens is when you take the carbs apart, the pin falls out or backs out JUST enough so when you tighten that screw later, it spins the nozzle a fraction of a millimeter out of position. Had the same issue on 2 different sets of carbs. Now that I watch those pins, never had the drama again.
@@myfavoritecolorisrage tha k ypu for the info! I did eventually find that when I was working on a friend's venture like a year later and was smacking myself over it 😆 I did get mine running and put about 17k miles on the bike before I got my victory a few months back
Cotton candy ass bike
@rexjolles yep thays why the customer wanted the blue covered- it's female owned
Nice...! This is not easy project! 😮
I Am More Old School so All These Safety Switches Throw Me ! CLUTCH , Kick Stand .., Etc.
I wasted over 2 thousand dollars at Powersport in Austin tx getting my carbs rebuilt, now my cat uses my bike as a cat bed.what a rip-off. Racist people.
@riding2nowhere they charged you 2000 dollars for carbs?! What the heck!
❤ my kinda Harley girl. 😊
He likely didnt forget, some people just dont put em back in because its kind of unnecessary, but thanks for showing those of us who think you shouldnt have any left over parts when you're done doing a job😂
Great job! Thanks to you, I’ve been working on my bike which is a 2006 tour deluxe
I gotta ask. How did you get the slave cylinder out between the crankcases? Even if you get the hydraulic line out of the way, there is verry little space.
@doubletrippleburger it's very difficult you just got to work it with your fingers. I had problems too but somehow my husband managed to wiggle it out and get the new one in
I love it and a woman is doing mechanic work I would like to marry you
Big dog don't lose her I'll be on her is it bad to the bone

@flexcustomdiy4662 yeah we did that 🤘
Did you ever manage to get this bike running?
@Enigmaticwolf614 I completely re-wired her and put a new engine in so yes but not the original harness or engine
I'm going through this same shit right now with my 00 Vulcan classic 1500 and I'm blasted at the problem
Find anything
Wiring???
Does your bike make a whine noise while you ride?😢
No, why does yours?
@@shuttersplainin8728 yes. People are saying it's because it has straight cut transmission gears. I guess most do it, others are quiet.
I have a 05 Yamaha Royal Star Touring Delux 1300.I love her and her name is Burtha😅
@@jeffcox2645 love the name! It's very fitting for how big these are!
How hard is it to remove both stators. Have to do them soon. And you are the closest thing to see them visually out
@GRPPLRJORDAN it's not hard, just make sure you torque the bolts to the proper lbs when you put the cover back on all that is in the book.
I had the same problem without spark and today I was able to solve it, well it turns out that I bought a new switch on Amazon that was supposed to be for the model of my motorcycle. It turns out that when I installed it, it opened the ignition and turned on its lights and tachometer but when I started it it didn't. I started the bike, I checked the spark and injection pulse and there was no signal. For a moment I thought about the computer but I started to study more in depth. I changed the switch because I threw away the keys and that's why I bought a new one. Well, I put the old switch as direct. I mean force the switch and manage to open the contact with the old switch, that's where the solution to the problem comes, it turns out that when I do that the bike makes the noise of the fuel pump which with the new switch it didn't, I turned it on and The bike worked because the internal contacts of each switch are different even though the harness is the same but the internal function is not the same since the original has a resistance and the other does not.
@richardcastro5678 yes you have to use switches with the resistor or it's not gonna work at all.
Tuve el mismo problema y lo acabo de solucionar hoy
clear video and clear instructions!! thanks, with out all that garbage!!
Good work chick.... you make me look like a lazy chump.
if you havent fixed this bike yet need to check your tip over sensor theres only a hand full of things that will cause the 1500/1600s not to spark and from all your videos ive seen thats the one thing you havent checked that i know of but more than likely that could be the cause it cuts off fuel and spark or sometimes just fuel or just spark
Yeah it was checked...eventually the entire ignition system and all safetys were replaced and still nothing, I beleive it was in the wire harness even though I had pulled it and checked every wire, because running my own wire harness with brand new wires and I get spark now.
Good video, you skipped the hard part though. How did you get it slid out after the bolts were removed?
My hand was not strong enough to pull it out so I had to have my husband do it, he had to wiggle and pull hard to get it to break free
@@shuttersplainin8728 I loosened the clamp holding the wires and moved them out of the way. I had just enough room to wiggle it out. Thanks for the video. I'll be riding today. Have a great 4th of July weekend 🎊
I love when mechanics admit to their mistakes.
Always start with a new fuel filter and work through the system.
It was the carbs but yes a new fuel filter was also added eventually
Tip over switch
That was tested and eventually replaced with a new oem one and it wasn't it either.
Good job !@!!!!!
Dont forget to make a ground wire .also theres a master fuse on the positive
Yep got it!

@@shuttersplainin8728 ❤️
Great job
I’m following…. Had a cdi go out on Zx. One coil not firing. And I’ve done it on two! So. A four cylinder on gy6 cdi boxes? Or will these two work combined w/ one of them 180 out?
If only 1 coil is not fireing it may have gone bad itsself so be sure it's not the coil. I'm only using the 2 gy6 CDI boxes. If you watch the end it shows how one works one ignition coil and one pick up coil trigger each and everything else is the same. But this does not allow for all the safety switches and I have no cut off switch but that can be worked around if I were to wire them almost like a Toggle switch if I really wanted the safeties
@@shuttersplainin8728 The zx7 has a single pickup coil and I'm not sure about the plate? I'll take your advice.
@Mr.EeToMyself if you only have 1 pick up coil trigger then you only need 1 gy6 cdi box and hook up both of the ignition coils to the same spot on the 1, you only need 2 boxes if you have 2 pick up coil triggers cause they need to fire separately for the timing
@@shuttersplainin8728 Perhaps it's the rotor plate. I see that mine is a shape that is a bit different and curved. Which makes me wonder if it's able to give pukse signal for both sides. I've seen the rotors with square knotches that may have two places to make ignite. And hoped the waste ignition would do. Mine doesn't seem to. But I thank you. I love to see you all doing what's the best stuff in my book. Appreciate it.
I bought a 2005 royal star tour deluxe this morning. with 27000 miles on it. I am upgrading my 1997 royal star with over 80000 miles on it. I hope you enjoy the bike.
At 22:02, can’t recall the part name, but is there a tiny rubber oring in there lol?
Bumping for possible quick response TIA!
Yes in each Carb, I don't know the name either...remember though the first time I did them I did not have the FULL rebuild kit it was just a partial so the second time I ordered the full kit and it came with everything and then they worked cause I had a clogged jet
You're a genius what are great job on those carbs
Aww thank you I appreciate your kind words!
Wow.... at least you got her running. I only asked because I own a 2001 nomad that decided to not want to start one day. After changing the clutch relay, the rollover relay and the kick stand sensor, it turned out to be a 11.00$ fix. It was the starter relay. Now she's running fine.
Yeah I did test the starter too on mine and it was fine but who knows 🤷♀️
I have the same issue and I don’t know what to do 😢
Start at the beginning and look at the simple cheap things and go from there...test what you can test ...in most cases it's something simple...check all your connections on your switches and things like that too, a bad connection can stop a bike quick.
Nice work. Carbs kinda spook me, I know I could foul it up🤔😁🤬😞
They are less intimidating than some other things...its really not too terrible once you get the hang of it
Gonna do mine soon, I've ordered an upgraded kit from Ivan's tune products. It's supposed to make more power and improved throttle response. The people I know of who have used it says it makes the bike accelerate much faster.
Definitely good to know..let me know how it turns out
Goodluck ,i have owned both bikes and the engine you are gonna use is better despite only 4 gears ,hope it goes well.
That's good to know! Stay tuned working on the wiring now!
I ha e a 08 royal star venture and love it has 80k on it
I also have the 08, Great Bike.
I give you two thumbs up for wanting to repair your own bike . You are marriage material in my book . I hope all is well with it now . I own a 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe with a clutch fluid leak .
Thank you for the compliments! I love my Idunn and ride her often!
Dont give up 😊
I'm too stubborn and hard headed to give up 😆
Where are you buying all your parts from
I get my parts from ebay, partzilla, jp cycles....wherever I can find them
@@shuttersplainin8728 did you ever check voltage on the grey wire coming from the key switch, it has a resistor in it and should only have 6 to 8 volts. If resistor is bad, no fuel pump, no spark
@christopherfair1011 yes the key switch was tested by both me and 2 mechanics and it was fine
Hey did manage to fine ur issue?
I never did, i litterally replaced every single thing that had to do with the ignition spark ststem and nothing ever gave spark so...im actually about to completely gut and rebuild with another kawasaki I purchased that I know runs but doesn't have a title.
