Naples & Herculaneum Solo Travel | Backpacking South Italy (1/4)
มุมมอง 5664 หลายเดือนก่อน
In January I decided it was time to venture out on my first solo international travel. I headed to South Italy for some winter sun on a ten day trip that would take me from Naples, down the coast to Sicily and back again. In this video I explore the city of Naples and the nearby excavated site of Herculaneum, which was buried under ash following the eruption of Mt Vesuvious in 79AD. As such, it...

Finding The Most Remote Hilltop in Mainland Wales
มุมมอง 2226 หลายเดือนก่อน
Curiosty took over for this adventure as I travelled to visit the most remote location in mainland England and Wales, a little peak called Tyle Garw nestled within the western Brecon Beacons national park. It was a beautiful, peaceful day, so watch along for this short adventure into the mountians I'm now calling home. Instagram: @noseyparkerphotography
Starting a 100mile Trail through South Wales! Beacons Way | Weekend One
มุมมอง 3576 หลายเดือนก่อน
Weekend one of four, tackling the first two days of the Beacons Way (Abergavenny to Crickhowell). Here, we begin in the town of Abergavenny before being quickly transported up into the hills. I've never hiked this area before so I was interested to see if it holds up to the beauty of the mountians beyond. We carried everything we needed with us and had a wildcamp halfway along. I was so surpris...

Alone in the Camarthen Fans (Almost Had to Turn Back!) | Picws Du & Llyn y Fan Fach
มุมมอง 17311 หลายเดือนก่อน
It was time for another solo adventure! This time a first for me: wildcamping on top of a mountian. Usually I head for the forests and set up tucked away in a hammock, but this time I wanted to experience what it was like being on the summit for the whole night. I figured the Camarthen Fans would be the perfect place to give this a go.. and, spoiler alert, I'm hooked!
Black Mountians Solo Hike | Whun Fach via. Dragon's Back

Join me on my most recent micro adventure - a four hour solo hike into the eastern Black Mountians in the Brecon Beacons national park. An outstanding area of natural beauty, where you hike up to a 811m summit via a ridgeline that offers dramatic views of the valley below and the rest of the Black Mountians range. It's my first hike in this area, and I'll be sure to be back soon enough! I was p...
First Overnight in a Bothy | Moel Prysgau
มุมมอง 31Kปีที่แล้ว
In December, I decided to take my friends out on a hike and bothy camp in mid-wales. None of us had stayed in a bothy before and the hunt for it was exciting, especially because we'd decided to go in the snowy season! We made the hike in four hours along the forest tracks and found navigating by OS map to be really straightforward. Highly reccomend visiting Moel Prysgau, tucked away in the wood...

Type Three Fun | The Smugglers Way & The Rhinog Mountians
มุมมอง 326ปีที่แล้ว
I've been on two disasterous trips this year. The first was my first thru hike, The Smugglers Way, a 36 mile coast to coast that starts in Looe, ends in Boscastle and cuts through Bodmin Moor, in Cornwall. The second, a recent failed mountian mission with my friends to the Rhinogs, where we spent most of our time sheltering from the weather. The lessons learnt I will carry forwards to my next a...

That Grayl water filter is just about the best that you can buy it even removes pesticides and fertilizer residues and I don't know of any other filters that do so. I have one and I'd drink just about any water once it's been through the Grayl. Nice video, thanks.
Great to see you again..!!! I’m the 277th subscriber.!! 😅😊
Thanks for watching! Was great to meet you 😁
Really nice watch. Great the beach was just yours. The volcano trip looked really cool. Incredible views at the top. Nice finish and chat in the cafe. Good vid.👏👏👍
Thankyou Jamie! It was a great experience 😁
belle video et beaux pays !
Gonna buy you a Tuk Tuk for your birthday xoxo
Best gift ever 😂
Really enjoyed your exploration videos of Italy…. Can’t wait for the next instalment! The map overview of your travels really help me appreciate where you were in the world and the relationship of all your leap off points 👍 I want to go !!!
Thankyou! 😁
That's a great video. 👏👏 You travelled to some beautiful places then. I have wanted to go for years but now I really want to go. I love the sea and I was suprised how beautiful it is there. Great editing.👍
Thankyou Jamie! Its a beautiful part of the world - I think low season would be best though, I imagine the crowds can get mad!
Great video!! You are such a beautiful soul and I am glad we met and hung out!
Thankyou Jess ❤️ so glad we bumped into each other!
I'll definitely be tuning into this series Ellie. You chose a well unique adventure to kick off with. Ha, not a chocolate warm drink.' I can only imagine. Your digs were far more pleasant and the garden. I spent a lot of time on the street on the 90's and early 2000's and I like it real and gritty. Great city! Well, good going with the Herculaneum site too. All the best. Mark
Thankyou for the support 😁 almost done with the next episode now - releasing soon!
@@EllieParkerYT Support Ellie - I was just watching a good video mate. I can see where your going - all the best with the content creating. Peace.
Another great episode Ellie. Well, you got a hot one to start - just gotta go slow eh? But then again you sweat buckets anyhow. Yeah, the shop at Bwlch closed - I found that out the other week. A pretty well stocked one in the next village. Set you up for camp - nice spot as is that stone table overlooking Talybont. I've made a brew on there - it is awesome. Well, your mate did an extra mile - ha ha! Enjoyed that all the way. Have a great week ahead. Mark
Thankyou Mark! Yes, we were overlooking Tal Y Bont - it's a great spot 😁
Hi Ellie. Well done, it's quite a tough hike. The sky was beautiful for you. Looks really nice. I recently did it and loved it. Next Saturday I'm having my first cold swim😁 First wild camp on the beach and swim. Hopefully it will go ok. Thanks for the vid.👍
Thankyou! 😁 Good luck, where are you headed?
@@EllieParkerYT New Quay West Wales. I'm camping on the beach. Fire, cook and swim. Next time after that I'll jump in somehwere with waterfalls. Watching other people do it makes it easier for me. See how I get on.😁
@@JamieHarding5 lovley! Have fun 😁
OL explorer maps are fantastic in highlighting hidden gems, the only issue with the OL maps it that they are so huge,1:25000 scale so I study them at home! and take a few photos, or only bring them with me on dry sunny non breezy days, so the maps rarely come out with me for this reason, Alltrails is a great app for gps and finding lost paths and finding my way back to the car
Excellent. The snow looks beautiful. So nice people leave things behind and share. Nice you could play cards and relax together. I've been to 3 bothies recently, going to this one soon. Thanks for the vid. Really enjoyed it. 👍
It was a great adventure! Yes I saw on your channel - I've just come back from an overnight at Grwayne Fawr Bothy, which I saw you've also visited 😁 Thankyou for subscribing!
Hello Ellie. Just found your channel. Well done on wild swimming. I'm hoping to have a go at it soon, really soon. I use Alltrails too for my walks, great help and it's took me to some great places. Just liked and subscribed. I'll follow your journey now. Good job.👍
Hi Jamie! Good to hear 😁 theres a few groups on Facebook that organise wild swims in wales - definitely check those out too!
@@EllieParkerYT Thanks for the info, probably best I do it on my own though, I might scream when I get in, sure I'll be sounding like Bee Gee soon as I get in also. I will try it this month, sea or river. I must have a go this month.😁😉💪 Look forward to more vids from you.👋
@@JamieHarding5 completely understand! Good luck - even just having a dip and getting out is great to begin with 😁 Thankyou!
I'll jump in this month and film my reaction. See how it goes.😁👋
Hi Ellie. I did my first wild swim a few days ago at a waterfalls. Thanks for your vids on it. Seeing you and a few other girls do it helped me. Have a look one day.😁👍
Great video, looking forward to the next 😊
Love the video! I've gotta go south Italy now!
Great idea to do a game of the rock, paper, scissors to decide who has to walk back for the camera as it's usually me. We'll have to do that on our next trip. Nice video, looks like you had a bit more luck with the weather than we did, though not sure how I'd handle the heat carrying the heavy back pack. I look forward to the next chapter.
Thanks for watching! Yeah it works well until someone is super unlucky...! 🤣
absolutely sublime
beau voyage et belles images !
Great video Ellington
Thankyou Mushy 😁
Great video Ellie! Love your commentary that the city is “real”. And wow those shots of Herculaneum are great, makes me want to visit!
Thankyou! Its a great historical spot, I'd go back 😁
As a guy, 44 years old, with ptsd and depression from Denmark Scandinavia, this is such a relief and inspiration to watch... Thansk for bringing us along🙏
Thankyou for commenting! Nature is the best healer, I hope your journey gets easier with time 💚
Same here PTSD few understand
I really enjoyed that Ellie end to end. Well, hills from the off signals what's ahead. I've been up the Skirrid a number of times - great 360 views. I never knew you were Hammocking - that was a cool surprise. No doubt a good nights kip. With the water off it was good to reach Llanthony Id imagine. I do love the area and the tops heading back on your loop. I was up there camping the other week - on channel if interested. Well, with partrishow church and sunset on table mountain a result I'd say. What a great section. All the best out there. Mark
Hi Mark! Thankyou so much for your lovley comments 😁 Yes, we love to hammock whenever possible - easy to find hidden wildcamps and, as you say, a very comfortable sleep too! It was a great hike, and I'd definitely recommend it so far :) Part Two is already up aswell! I'll be sure to check out your channel - All the best, happy adventuring 😁
@@EllieParkerYT A pleasure Ellie - got your next one lined up. Yeah, you looked at home in the hammock and in the big hills. I know the area. Re-my channel/vid in your own time. Peace.
Reallt enjoyed this one! Good work and the hiking looked tough in the heat!
Thankyou for watching along Tom 😁
i’ve been practicing rock paper scissors, i can definitely win now
Come back for part three with us..!
More pony content pls
Will keep that in mind for the next hike 😎💚
Amy managing to do scientifically impossible things seems deeply on brand
Ahahaha! The more she kept losing, the funnier it got 😂
Thanks Ellie, Andrew and Amy, lovely views and path. The piggies were a bonus! I feel guilty for being able to see it all without getting hot and sticky, but I do appreciate you all for doing that and bringing us along! ❤
Thankyou for watching and following along! 😁

Nice content of a special place. However, cutting down a trunk even though it may be starting to rot is not the widest thing to do. As it is habitat for the bugs who live in standing rather than fallen wood.
amazing - can't wait for the next one!!
Thanks for watching 😁
omg the views are amazing!!!
They really are 😍
nice video, cheers for uploading!
Thankyou so much 😊
another great video 😋
Thankyou ❤️
Stunning setting as always!!
Thankyou katie ❤️
Brilliant stuff Ellie
Thankyou 😁
Did a two night hike and camp round that part of Wales a number of years ago. Filled up my bottle from that same river, boiled the water, but had a bad stomach for a good few days after i got back. There are a lot of farms and roads that water runs down till it gets to that part of the river 🐑 Later experience, i took water from a fresh stream coming out of rocks on the mountainside and had no problems at all
Interesting! Glad we didn't risk it then - as you say, we would also normally just be collecting from mountian rivers with no issue
what a stunning adventure!
Oh wow every single shot is breath taking! What a gorgeous day for it!
Thankyou so much! 😁❤️
this is so beautiful ellie !!!
great video as always !
best summer eva !

Wow what a stunning adventure!
It was a good one 😁
Love it!! I deff want to come back for more swimming!
Yeeeessss!!
Lovely video, but I'd always urge caution sharing favourite spots, they can get ruined really quickly if over used!
