1:45 WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE SHES ALMOST FLIPPING HIM OFF??

I wish there’s a way to canonize this series. The Anya Curly parallels here are amazing. Anya comes to understand Curly was a people-pleaser who’s just wearing a face, just like her. Curly comes to understand how painful and helpless Anya must have felt all this time. Anya always looks away when she feeds him the painkillers, but in the third time she realizes he was the same as her right now. And that’s when she no longer looks away and becomes a lot more forceful, almost like she hopes it hurts. Her self hatred is showing. And after that she’s horrified with herself, her immediate "I didn’t-" is similar to Curly’s reaction when he realized he had just let Jimmy crash the ship. There’s definitely a parallel between Curly letting Jimmy harass Anya and Anya letting Jimmy feed Curly his meds. They both knew how dangerous and unstable Jimmy could be, how he could’ve hurt the other, but they let it happen anyway because they’re too scared to confront him. And they hate themselves so so much for it. But among all this, there’s a strange sort of solace/solidarity between the two. Curly tries to comfort Anya and tells her it’s not her fault, even if it’s far too late and she couldn’t understand him anyway. Anya tries to keep Curly in the dark so that he wouldn’t have to see the hell of his own making…

Ok but, the "HELP" at the end as a parallel to "SAFETY" in the original game was poetic.

I GENIUNELY think this is an amazing concept. The in betweens in the timeline? Brilliant. I think the writing was so poetic, this is the definition of underrated. The fact that it brought up how Curly messed up, and focusing on that as a lot of people don’t take time to think about, it’s really nice. I GENIUNELY watched this, and as soon as the well spent 6:49 seconds was over I said out loud “Oh my fucking god-“ New sub, you have great potential of a channel.

2:08 Everything said here is absolutely AMAZING, Polle pretty much gives him an answer, telling Curly that this is partly his fault for not taking care of Anya’s situation, for staying blind of the situation even if it wasn’t on purpose, and he STILL doesn’t get it, telling Polle it’s unfair. I wish I could say more about this, but I just woke up and I have a fever, so words aren’t wording rn :)

"Seems only fitting to take the limbs from a man who refused to move" that is a killing line that Curly would absolutely agree!

Peak strikes once again

Love how you portray Curly’s bargaining/anger. Haven’t seen much of that in other fan works. The way he gets mad and shifts blame into PE (while somehow still skipping Jimmy entirely) is so selfish and flawed and human. But it’s also clear that by the end he’ll always go back to blaming himself. 5:07 is something I think about a lot. Curly seems the type to have lots of acquaintances but not many close friends, the type to act friendly but always keep everyone at arm’s length. He wants to stay neutral and professional and put everyone’s well-being over his own, which seems almost selfless, but in reality it makes things worse. Because he’s so distant, he doesn’t understand Anya’s hardships and fails to comfort her when it matters the most. Because he stays away from others, he ends up emotionally dependent on Jimmy the one friend he knew from Earth, and starts giving him preferential treatment. Something something good intentions, disastrous consequences. (Also I wonder if this attitude is why Jimmy thought Curly was looking down on everyone…) Always love to see the HFIM references 👀
