d spec it’s a spike fr but u gotta time it right if you above and they below, but really useful on stage and strong

If you go to 2:47. You can see how I converted Dair into up air into up special. That's one of Marvin's very few kill confirms around 90 to 100%. Besides that he doesn't really have any. He just struggles to kill after that

Rocket can kill confirm but its pretty hard to hit at times but its something you can keep at the back of your mind

Using dodge is just an experience thing. Play more and you'll learn when and which situations you should use it in. Marvin is just a complicated character in general. What I recommend is watch players better than you implement what they do in your own gameplay. Then once you think youre good enough you can add your own style

Yeah marvin isn't popular at all. He isn't beginner friendly either with makes it even worse. He takes a lot of time to get good with. So I'm not surprised when people drop him for a better and easier character

@@1trickwootang I have him at level 12 atm, and am working on Taz who is at 14. I want to learn more about dodging and using simpler combos before moving back to Marvin. Marvin was one of my fav Loony Tunes characters, and I want to commit to it lol

Yeah, I read them. That projectile is do important for denying space and they just killed it. Marvin wasn't even that good in the first place and they just killed it

@supawahoobruh9816 His most serious problem is a lack of kill lower. About everyone else has a way to kill around 110%. Marvin only has rocket and if he misses that it's on a 20 second cool down. He is also useless when he has no cooldowns. He is free to rush down and kill at that point since he has pretty bad normals. He was good at controlling the ground space but now in the recent patch they nerfed his jab3 so controlling the ground space is way more difficult. In all Marvin just has to work 3x as hard to get a kill than most other characters in the cast. And you have to outplay them 9 times out of 10 to win. You can't just win on character alone He's not bottom tier tho but hes near it.

In this matchup I'd rather keep bubble for denying space and zoning. That slow projectile will stop batman from essentially rushing me down the whole game. If I use it for rocket its basically free for him to come at me. Bubbling rocket is good yes, but the slow moving utility of bubble is way more useful at times imo

I use it for combos and when they are at rocket kill %

The bot was set to dodge after hitstun. If the person DIs away you cannot start loops off of jab1 jab2 dair but you can still do jab1 jab2 air side special. If you're talking about getting out of button loops you have to follow the DI to keep them in it. Sets on my channel doing that you can watch. These combos are true, You just need to react to which combos you have to use in specific scenarios.

@redsnake-pd7wt Try to have your opponent more inside of marvin when doing neutral special. That's seems to be the best most consistent way getting them to bounce. Like I said in the video it's 2 different hit boxes so you need to lab practice it

Best advice id give you is watch people that are better than you at the character. Take what they do and add it to your gameplay. You can do exactly what they do or implement it in your own way. I have a combo video on my channel if you want to learn some combos with Marvin

I love playing difficult characters too. With Marvin there's so many set ups to learn so he always keeps me engaged

Top level. Trust

Use your neutral attack to deny space for your opponent. It's a slow projectile so it forces the opponent to go move back or go around it (if you angle it up takes away their option to jump same with running at you if you angle it straight). It allows you to react to a jump or dodge so you can punish. Also use the jab3 projectile. It's a semi slow projectile that covers almost the whole ground space. If you use it in the corner on most maps it goes from corner to corner. It allows for a guaranteed jump or dodge read. Also good to throw it out at high %s since it's a very strong projectile. If you're looking for combos I have a video on my channel teaching you some! (Once I get off vacation I'll make a guide explaining how to deny space with his projectiles and force options)

Yeah, it's kinda what I have to do against Finn. His sword just out ranges most of my melee pressure. So I just poke with air side special and sit back so he can whiff

The jab3 is super useful tool for covering the ground forcing them to jump or dodge passed it. It bombs off walls and is a super powerful move so at high %s it's just good to throw it out so the threat of it there puts pressure on the opponent

Hes definitely worth it
