Signal Cheyne Echoflow Modulated Delay demo
Here's a quick demo of the new Echoflow Modulated Delay!
Echoflow Modulated Delay is a tape style delay with modulation. Two internal DIP switches change between bright or dark voicings for the repeats and another to kill the dry signal for 100% wet delay. The external modulation gives movement to the repeats that you can set to be subtle or heavy warble.
As with all Signal Cheyne effects, I manually screen print the housings and hand build the pedals in France.

    Hello, j'ai fait l'acquisition de cette pédale en occasion la n°001 de 2021 et je suis entrain de tomber love (mis à part la pile uniquement) tout est super. Le son et la dynamique sont très large, le grain de guitare est preservé, le volume de la gratte fonctionne superbement bien. C'est bien simple, ce sera mon unique pédale d'OD et Sat tellement on peut presque tout faire avec le potard de volume, fuzz à 14h30 volume de la jazzmaster à 6 crunch magnifique et jusqu'à dix on peut vraiment varier les nuances de drive et monter la sauce si besoin. • @SignalCheyne
      @SignalCheyne ปีที่แล้ว

      Tayda enclosures work just fine :) Some colors I've had problems with- the candy yellow has a top coat that doesn't allow proper adhesion with my solvent based ink. All the matte colors are really good as long as you have your technique down because it's not possible to buff out the mistakes. Same with the ball silver color, it's hard to print on. The chromium is hard to work with. I haven't tried any of the sand textured ones yet.

    I have a question. If you make a mistake while printing, how do you remove the ink from the pedal without damaging the powder coat?

    • @SignalCheyne
      @SignalCheyne ปีที่แล้ว

      I use solvent based ink that adheres really well to the powder coating so there's no room for error. The ink bonds to the paint. If there's a small mistake, like a small overflow or a little smudge I can usually buff it out with a little elbow grease and some polywatch polish. If it's a big mistake- messing up the alignment for example- then the housing is trashed.

  • @reeveselectro
    @reeveselectro ปีที่แล้ว

    You can't drop water on the screen as the stencil is a water based emulsion so it's good with solvent ink .... Likewise for water based inks you need a solvent based stencil ... Great video man ✊✊✊✊✊

    Awesome setup! Thanks for the vid. Did you have to have all the artwork in a single image file when having the screen made, or did he line up the individual images for you? How did you get the image spacing so perfect to be able to make a simple jig to position the enclosures?

    • @SignalCheyne
      @SignalCheyne ปีที่แล้ว

      I put all the artwork on a single vector file. I knew I could buy 1cm square pieces of wood so I spaced them all 1cm apart. On my new screen I placed them farther apart. I made a different jig to make positioning the housing more precise. Basically now my screen doesn't move, I have a little platter that the housings go in that I tape down once it's in position.

    Looking for a decent and simple A/B pedal, preferably with a knob. This one seems to fit the bill! It seems pretty transparent and there's no bleed through when 100% dry or wet, right? The new one on the website looks even nicer. Loving the new font on it! Great design :) I'll probably put in an order soon!

  • @splitsevin
    @splitsevin ปีที่แล้ว

    Have you considered using individual screens for each pedal? You could use a jig for each enclosure size and not have to worry about alignment issues as much potentially (although it looks like they're coming out pretty great anyhow!)

    • @SignalCheyne
      @SignalCheyne ปีที่แล้ว

      I was going to switch to individual screens for ease of clean up and quicker printing. As it is now I have to clean the screen between each model and wait for it to dry. My only reason for not doing that is cost... With this new technique I haven't had any alignment issues so far.

    • @SignalCheyne

      IMO solvent inks work best on powder coating because they bond to the material. You don't need a top coat because it's pretty resistant. To clean the screen you need a dilatant or solvent cleaner. They smell very strong so you'll need a mask and a well ventilated area to print.

      I thought there was a knob on the back for adjusting the difference in the bias of the two power tubes. Adjust it for lowest noise. If it hasn't been serviced, the filter caps definitely are due for replacing. Tube amps are extremely dangerous to work on. They have voltages around 500v that can stop your heart instantly, and permanently. Best to take it to a tech.
