Bunker water storage. Ep22 #diy #bunker #shtf #secrettunnel
Installing a water storage tank to collect the bunker water. The water in the bunker sump when left to clear and settle seem to be a clean drinking water source. I aim to store the bunker water to have a usable water source in case of shtf.

      One of the tricks to save water is to put a house brick in the toilet cistern so it use's one brick volume of water per flush and also to pack it in the washing machine, more clothes per cycle. Makes sense when you think about it. love the bunker....

      @BackyardBunkerBuilder 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@terminator_t404 No mate this in Australia is called exposed. This is a form of decorative concrete that is generally utilised for paths and driveways. If it was indoors it would be fantastic polished. The ground and polished stuff is to slippery when wet without sealers and non slip additives. When you pour this mud you wait until the concrete would be ready for a second hit with the trowel. Firm enough to walk on and add the sugar water to the top layer. Sugar stops the top slurry from seting allowing you to just wash of a fine layer, leaving the top stones encapsulated in the concrete.

    You need to form up the walls of and pour concrete walls in order to waterproof the bunker. Otherwise you’re going to keep fighting the water seeping into your bunker, which will lead to mold building up and causing dangerous health problems to you and your family. Sand will not waterproof the bunker, it will eventually wash itself out and cause the walls to cave in on you. So please rethink your project. Safety first. All of the water you’re pumping out into the yard, is seeping right back into your bunker. Water always takes the path of least resistance. Which means, the clay layer that you’re digging out is allowing the water to flow and seep right back into your bunker. You’re going to keep fighting a no win situation with the water. You need at least 8” (20 cm) of wall thickness of concrete with rebar reinforcement to safely stabilize the walls.

At least the soil is more solid But its not solid rock is it? 3-4ft 1-1.5m minimum from the surface would probably be ideal. I think even Colin Furze talks about that in a couple videos. I am so amazed at how much work you do. It looks like the soil is mostly clay now, or at least that’s what it looks like. I know in he early videos you shored up the side with some wood but I don’t see that now. Are you planning on putting up some kind of panels or supports to protect yourself from a cave in? Or maybe you had some testing done and the ground is really stable? I’m inspired to dig in my back yard but my yard has a lot of rocks. Also there was some people here in Hawaii who died recently because they were digging for a wall in their yard and it caved in. So I’m a bit nervous for myself and for you. Keep up the great work, I can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s completed.

    • @BackyardBunkerBuilder

      All of the walls will be supported as I make my way through. It is all clay at the bottom, really sticky when wet. That is really sad about the cave in.
