Pat's Creature Cave
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 27 ส.ค. 2021
Welcome to Pat's Creature Cave! Here I will share with you my experiences while keeping a wide variety of creatures that can be found all over the world. My true passion is with smaller species of geckos and other lizards, though I do care for quite a few different snakes and some larger lizards. I also care for a variety of inverts like isopods, tarantulas, and assassin bugs.

Baby Geckos hatching like crazy, reptile room updates & plans
Little bit of a different styled video, I could say more of a Vlog. Housing some newly hatched geckos into some nursery enclosures, pulling some eggs from my Electric Blue Day Geckos, and discussing some upcoming room projects.

Amazon tarantula sling enclosures, Are they any good?
Is the reptile fogger safe? How often do you do it and for how long?
@maxking171 joggers are frowned upon in the hobby. When improperly used they can cause respiratory issues and bacteria growth. I use mine only when showing off the enclosure. Misting systems are the best way to go and allow for a more natural humidity fluctuations
@ thank you!
My skink won’t come out of its hide
Ha my female leopard gecko is violent when eating out of my hand
I have been pretty lucky with most of my reptiles. I work with hand feeding them quite often to keep that bond.
why can't we get these in the UK
You might not be able to get the kits but the containers themselves might be available.
Will you post when you hatch new ones?
National Geographic type shi
For sure, I was really lucky to catch this.
Skiddish geckos! Goes to show you’re a wonderful handler by how tame they are
What enclosure are you using for hatchlings Amazon ones reviews are all over the place
@@vismortis these are Marshall arachnid acrylic front opening, 6 x 6 x 9 inch.
So cute looks like my girl 🥰
What substrate are you using in your incubation containers?
I have experimented with a few different types. This video is of the clay based Pangea Hatch. The other that I use more often is Josh's frogs.
my male corn is aggressive
I think it mostly depends on the personality of the animal, but so far with most of my adult corns this seems to be the trend.
That was a springtail not a baby isopod
OMG LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL LITTLW BABYYYYY
She is a sweet heart, not to much of a baby now but still quite full grown.
my female i s really nervous, she never let do that :(
@@bluethestar they certainly have their unique personalities. I have been lucky enough to have a few that were very trusting. Many of the offspring were also fairly handleable
Love it!!!!!!! I want a prasina but I have 3 dogs around
Thank you! They are a fun little creature with a lot of personality in a small package.
Is it waxmoth larvae? Or black soldier fly
@modlich6067 I use both but the waxmoth or wax worms are my usual go to for treats.
That was so cool
What kind of enclosure is that?
@@goodnamestaken I believe that one is an Arachnid Shop top opening acrylic enclosure.
Question where do u buy your emerald tree skinks from? Is it online ?
I was lucky enough to find mine fairly local and didn't have to ship them in. Over the years I made friends with a few importers and was able to get my hands on a few. I currently have 7 split between two colonies.
How do u get ur plants from ?
I randomly buy plants from quite a few different places. Josh's frogs, glass box tropicals, and a local green house.
I found a similar gecko like that but it was in Kenya idk the name of it 😮
That's awesome, I am not sure which species it could have been. These are endangered and only found in Madagascar from what I know. There are a lot of other species of gecko that are found in Africa.
Where’d you get yours?
@@Mastervulpes I picked mine up from Herptime at a narbc expo.
Where’d you get yours?
This pair came from Herptime. I was lucky enough to find them at the Schuamburg NARBC expo a while back.
I need a group
They are cool little geckos. They do tolerate handling as well which is rare for such a small reptile.
the look @ 1:12 lol
I was still getting used to dealing with Tarantulas and this was the one that gave me problems. Actually, over the years the only one to give me problems when re-housing.
@@PatsCreatureCave just great... im totally new to this hobby.. a friend had to rehome and gave me their h. mac sling about a week and a half ago and it nearly jumped of the box at me when changing its water. i rehoused it to a taller enclosure shortly after that and had the same expression in the vid lol. after researching t's this last week i realize im in way over my head with this species, but im committed. its about 1" 1/2 and burrowed under the stump i put inside with 2 tunnel entrances already.
Lmaooo I keep seeing videos just like this I need one
They are a blast, I can't go into my reptile room with out having them throwing themselves at the glass and stalking me.
This is so beautiful! 🤩 You did an amazing job! 👏 do you add silicone to the roots of the plants to glue it onto the foam?
Thank you so much. I really appreciate the kind words. Most of the plants in this enclosure are in the small net pots that I foamed into place. Any of them that weren't are held in by stainless floral pins and pushed right into the foam or cork.
@@PatsCreatureCavethank you so much, that’s so helpful! New sub ❤
Where do you get your enclosures?
@codyjohnstone7501 many of my nice acrylics come from Marshall Arachnids.
Just saw these yesterday in Jackson and was looking up more about them and the first video I watched was this and realized it was yours!
@@joseoyea1647 they are cool little things. Great desk pets. Thanks for checking out the video and channel. Let me know if you need any information.
Love ur videos!
Glad you like them! Thank you for watching
I just bought 5 and I am putting them in a 36x18x18 bio active. At the moment I have eco earth and sand mixture for substrate. Love these lil guys
@@Cagal08 they are awesome. I love that they do well in groups. Some also don't mind handling occasionally.
@@PatsCreatureCave I will be content just watching them. I also have 3 Uromastyx and 2 Crested Geckos and an African Fat tail gecko and I handle all of those, My Thomasi Uromastyx is about the size of the viper gecko full grown right now, he is just a wee baby.
Wow 😲😲❤❤❤❤😊
How long did it take you to develop such trust in the lizard? and in what way? My newly purchased one is not afraid of my hand when I put it in the terrarium, but she doesn't know what to do yet when she sees my hand heh :)
@dariuszmucha6641 it took a few weeks. I started with tongs then moved to holding the food in my fingers. They were hesitant to climb on my hands at first. My female is a bit more bold and will now out on my arms and sit on my shoulder.
@@PatsCreatureCave Well, I can see that my lizard is making a lot of progress right after purchasing it and is eating from the tweezers on the first day. So I'm wondering if I should try to encourage her to eat from her finger once a week? what do you think?
@dariuszmucha6641 I would certainly try as there really isn't any harm in trying. Just takes time and patience.
@@PatsCreatureCave well, I will try and not give up until I succeed :) thank you for your answer P.S. the music is incredibly beautiful and soothing. Thank you for your opinion and advice, best regards from Poland
@@PatsCreatureCave I have one more question: what is this worm that your lizard so eagerly hunts for? :)
I’m from Mexico and I’m your best fan you give me the strong for own a couple of phelsumas
Poor guy looks like a desert in their. Needs moisture!!
He’s probably enjoying you and the warmth of your skin 😂😊
I love that enclousure!
I GOT THE FRIGHTS WHEN THEY YELL😭😭😭😭😭✨✨🐬🐬🎀🎀🌈🌈
are they lefting the shedding in the terrarium? or humidity left out?
Both the adults and the babies do well in the enclosure and have no shedding issues. The humidity is well regulated between the automatic misting, the plants and being setup fully bioactive.
@@PatsCreatureCave 3 times per day your misting ..... in cold time, how many times do it? are they need to use a cable o map ?
I got one of these now p chordatus ❤🕷
Hi mate I've just purchased a p chordatus a 7cm confirmed female ❤ subscribed from London uk 🇬🇧🕷
What grass or type of plant did you use ? By the way its very nice enclosure .
Thank you! Sadly I don't remember the exact grass that I used. It was a shorter variety of ornamental grass that I had found at a local nursery.
haha that's funning, guess I'm getting a male now ;)
I can finally get my little guy to climb up on my hand to get a worm like yours did in the video. Their little feet feel so cool lol. These are awesome little lizards to have. Thank for the enclosure inspo!
That's awesome! The do take quite a bit of patience to build some trust but it's totally worth it. Glad you liked my build, it was a lot of fun to do.
Looks like a dart frog enclosure
@@venomous-reptiles yep! This one had a group of tinctorius green sips added to it
@@PatsCreatureCave they are amazing little frogs
@@venomous-reptiles for sure. They are very bold and troublesome at times.
Be careful with that. It's Androctonus australis, a very very venomous species.
Will do, I appreciate the heads up. Awesome little scorpion that definitely deserves respect.
How much❔
I haven't been able to get them to breed yet. This pair was imported from the UK because I wasn't ever able to find any in the US.
what enclosure and Substrate do u use? I m thinking of buying rubber duckies.
@Nightmare_heh thanks for watching. I have switched it up a few times over the years but currently I am using a mix from a friend, Stella's Springtails.
@@PatsCreatureCave alright thanks.
Despite being in a arachnid (fear of spiders) myself it looks pretty adorable.
Could you put a .5 to 1 inch sling in one of these?
@kraigbutcher4864 you could, though after a molt or 2 they will likely need an upgrade. Typically 3 to 4 times the diagonal legspan for the size of the enclosure
