I've seen quite a bit of gamplay but mostly had no idea about the actual mechanics and progression system, so this was very informative to watch. Would've like to see some of the more positive sides of Frontier being an MMO, however, like the 16 player Raviente siege and the silly events like the carnival. It definitely has piqued my interest in this game even more, so I might just figure out how to get it running in the future!

I’ve shouted this for years now, last time we had new weapons in MH was in 4 with IG and CB.. I loved the new weapons to learn and smack monsters with. We haven’t had new weapons for 2 generations now when there are magnet spike and tonfas perfectly there that can be implemented with some creativity. I might just be a cranky MH vet though lol

only 931h in World.. thats rookie numbers.. i reached that before Iceborne had even come out. not bad on rise though.. only got 419h PC hours on that one.

late comment here. This game also released in Taiwan unless you understand traditional mandarin, you will be fine. Late game monsters are AOE AOE AOE and with instant kill move ( can be more than 1)

Brah it's more accessible now, but I had to get one of my Japanese friends to buy the subscription then change the dynamic ip to Japan and bang u in, frontier was world before world and i still think frontier is peak monster hunter as the amount of stuff in the game was rediciluious and really wish they would bring back some of the combos and weapons from frontier

I would like to see black rathian into the main series to see reddit twitter and literally everywhere all over the internet crying about how hard this monster is... and that's only the tip of the iceberg for us who played frontier. Beating mousous took my group and me a while, but god, they are so cool battles. Boosted, but cool.

You know, this video actually got me kind of an itch to play the game! Just... Which server do I pick? Just for info, i'm located in EU (Italy to be precise) so I don't know if I should pick a server like Rain (has servers in US if I'm not mistaken?). Any advice anyone? Godspeed to y'all

The ridiculous jump in difficulty ruined this game for me. That's not a curve, that's a straight line. Going from HR to GR was a horrible experience, and everybody in the server just told me to use Halk pots. Sure thing, a potion that reduces 70% of damage taken, you might as well give me something to kill monsters in one hit. What kind of progression is that?

I only rank Eruzerion highly because of the collab quest in Phantasy Star Online 2, which really cemented my love for it, it was such a good collab quest

5:40 it was the most frustrating thing in frontier, when I was in g rank I've spend so much time making the gureadomosu's tonfas for vampirism that by the time i finished it i was gr200+ and had to make a zenith weapon to break zenith parts.

Played Frontier when it was still online. Very underrated MMO. Genuinely great content. Love the endgame.

Are the MHWorld zoomers just now finding out about Frontier? There isn't much to know. It was a Japanese live service game that ran for around 10 years, was based on the PS2 engine. Incredible game, probably the best Monster Hunter game that will ever be made. Also incredibly grindy though. It's like the World of Warcraft of Japanese games. Got to sell your soul, your wife, your friends, your sanity. Worth it though.

Man, I really want to play Monster Hunter Frontier, but I don't like that I have to make a malware definition exception for it to play it. Even if it's safe, it still feels really sketchy to me.

Quick amendment, frontier DEFINITELY has a story, a very big one at that, but a lot of it got lost as they kept the lore and stuff on their members website. They introduced new bits quite often because it was an MMO and the last thing you'd want is content draught.

Only ever available on Japan... *And South Korea where it was F2P.
