This car was made between 2006 and 2013. Despite its age, it still looks really good, and in fact, it has a timeless shape to it. Even the model you’re driving here, even if it’s the first production year of this car, it still looks fresh in 2024. Comparing this to other cars from the same era, a lot of them have a dated look… but not the IS lineup.

Do you have an open diff? I have a 99 w/ a torsen LSD stock everything and if I try to spin on dry roads like you do at 2:53 tires just chirp and I catch traction. Am I retarded?

I wish we had more small fun convertible options in the USA. I have kids. Need 4 seats. Bought an 01 VW Cabrio I adore. I’d buy an NB if it made sense. I also have owned a 92 VW GTI 16v since 99 with coilovers and love it. Fun family car is manual 15 Scion XB.

I’m so glad I got myself a 2008 Lexus IS250 instead of getting a 2008 Nissan Altima instead. I think I ultimately made the good choice, because I believe the Altima has a CVT transmission in it and it has overall reliability issues. Yes, my Lexus probably uses a little more, but she’s a beauty. She’s white and I named her “Artax”, after the White Horse from The Never Ending Story. But unlike the horse on the movie, my Artax doesn’t die lol.

I have one. The 350 F sport AWD. Once I sat in it I was sold. Soooo comfortable. Even with my back problems it works for me.

I’ve owned 2 IS350s from this generation and can’t say enough good about this generation IS. If you’re fine with missing out on the power of the ISF or IS350 then you’ll love it to pieces.

I’m not sure if I’m the only one with this opinion, but I think this car has aged very well. There are times when I see this on the road and I can’t help but think how fresh it still looks in 2024. Certainly some cars from the 2000’s aged not so gracefully, but the Lexus IS has aged quite beautifully. Timeless.

I just bought a 2000 miata 2 weeks ago that is in perfect stock condition besides the upholstery and soft-top being re-done. I love it more than I expected.

i got kicked out of my dads house at 18. only had $3k and still had to finish high school. i spent $2k on my 1999 buick park avenue and 3 years later she’s still my dependable Besse! She’s earned me more money being a great delivery vehicle and would not trade her for anything new

I daily drive an old Camry, and my experience with my local Toyota dealership has been awful. I paid 140 bucks to get my car serviced and my car came back 5 hours later with the service light on and my tire lights still on. They said it was cold out so the tires got uneven, which is Bull crap because im a lazy bastard and drove into the dealership with uneven tires. When I asked about the service, a guy at the service desk said the oil looked brand new (which im skeptical about since I didnt get my oil changed until 8K+ miles) I still don’t know if they actually took a look at my car. For all I know my hunk of junk is still running on dirty oil and I’m down 140 bucks :/

You can also get a gently used M240i for the price of a new Civic type R. Yes, Honda overpriced the CTR and dealerships charging crazy mark ups.

The only thing it lacks is the straight line speed that you can get in some of its competitors in this price range.

Due to a few reviews , comments and discussions on forums about interior space in the is250 I was a bit apprehensive about fitting in. I'm 6 foot 5 - 93kgs slim dad bod build 🙈 and I fit comfortably, there's plenty of adjustment in the seats. Very relaxed driving experience with little but of poke/ pull. From research they do have issues unfortunately. 1. Carbon build up on headers (direct injection) 2. Sticky / melting dash & interior panels. I'm sure some owners could elaborate on others . Considering buying one - car tax In Ireland 🇮🇪 is high 1080euro per year. Great review 💪

I have rebuilt this engine due to rod knock caused by this. The amount of sealant used is crazy. Sealant is used everywhere with few o-rings and gaskets used. The sealant in the pickup comes from everywhere, especially the valve covers!

I hope they do a recall, I dont think its that bad of an issue. The cases of the engine failures were not due to rtv idk if they used 5w-30 on track day but for 9 months of driving my brz, It hasnt blown up lol or given any issues what so ever.

I also a have an EV for a daily. It’s great for commuting and has gobs of torque and power, but for a fun day out of DRIVING nothing beats my NB Miata. I prefer NA’s, but decent ones have gotten a little pricey. You can still get a nice, clean NB for pocket change.

This is a deal breaker as far as I am concerned. I would not buy a GR86 or BRZ (assuming they too have this issue) until it is completely resolved. I feel bad for anyone who bought these cars and is now dealing with this issue.

The headroom, especially getting in/out of the driver door is pretty low. I also miss the rear window wiper and the double rear hatch window. Could be better. But it's much much nicer to drive than Gen 3 and prior.

This car is Gen 5. I have owned Gen 1, 2, 3 and 4. So I know the Prius. However, what in the world went wrong with the design of the cruise control driver interface. For 20+ years Toyota had it dead right. This interface is terrible. Shame on Toyota.

I have a 2006 is 250 with 284,000 miles and still runs smooth and reliably. One of the best cars ever made they last a lifetime and are a hidden gem.
