Thank you so much for this video! I am a woman with a 5th wheel and when my same model fridge suddenly had no power, I wasn't sure what to do. I used your video as a visual reference and determined it was a simple solution of replacing the little brown "5" fuse. Thanks for your help! You saved me calling an RV Tech and probably a few hundred dollars for a simple fix!
Those Camco replacement ends are crap, they don’t fit tight enough in the receptacle.IMO
Great video. Just what I was looking for. Thanks
This is exactly what I was thinking of doing. My pipes just broke for the 2nd time in 3 years. I’m not doing the same parts again. I’m going with the coupler fix. My 2018 Jayco Redhawk has a tiny access door to access the trap that is about 12” from the toilet. Nightmare location
Oh I’m so glad I found this video. The gas springs on mine are worn out and I thought I would have to grind off the rivets at each end of the strut to replace them. They’re also in a narrow part of the channel, making it even harder to remove them, then I would have to get a rivet tool to fasten each end of the strut. Now I see the secret to doing this I would just like to know how you tightened the the springs without damaging them as you used a pair of channel locks to remove them. So how do you tighten the smooth metal part without damaging it?
Thank you so much for your videos. God Bless! I could not find the video for testing the optical control board? But I'm assuming if the other two tests for the main control board we're good then it must be the optical control board?
Someone needs go er start drinking damn water
My covers never stay on silicone?
Cap = the seal
We lost a bearing with only 5k miles left us stranded in Nashville they made an axle overnight for us. The F-en outside bearing is to small and they revised the hub on the 6000-7000 lb axle to have a larger bearing due to this issue. Lippert should have replace these on this set of axles. Fuck Forest River and Lippert they knew this was an issue for how many years; 5 plus !!!!
OMG, the front cover on the stereo pulls right off.Only half of the face pops right off. 4 screws will be exposed holding the stereo unit in place. Unscrew them and the unit comes right out. Super easy. Change the 15amp fuse. Put the 4 screws back in . DO NOT cut any cabinets or paneling. Who is this yo yo? Crazy butcher job video.
Thanks for this video... our new to us motorhome with a Carefree awning is needing a bit of help to get going on the extend...I'm guessing it's the 2 gas springs. Now I've seen the procedure I'm not as concerned about doing it ourselves.
I’d say for the owner needs to check their brake pads and magnet. Clean it all, remove all brake dust and scuff the brake pads with a wire brush a little
Be careful working with the outlets so you ca get ZAPPED! And your hair will go straight up in the air!
so helpful! you saved me!
Great video. One thing i might add. Buy a bearing packer from hobofreight. Its impossible to hand pack a bearing. Nice video. Thanks for sharing
He demonstrated how to pack bearings by hand perfectly. Also HF is trash!
Hello and thank you for this tutorial. Can you do a tutorial on the optical control board of fridge?
Hello and thank you for this tutorial. Can you do the tutorial on panel of fridge?
Hi where is the separate video for testing the optical board?
Thank you so much! I had inconsistent temps and was going to try disconnecting the thermistor; when attempting this, I removed one of the orange connectors. I accidently touched the light with it -- the light flickered for a split second. Then no more power to the display or to fridge. I threw my hands up in the air, saying I probably need a new fridge, and since I'm selling soon, I'm just not going to replace it. I ordered a mini fridge from Home Depot. After a few days, I calmed down and did online research. Your video was the most helpful to me in accessing the control board -- how to remove cover, etc. I was hoping and praying that the 5amp fuse would be blown. Hooray! It was. I replaced it, and all is good. I still may have issues with thermistor, but replacing it will be cheap and easy. For now, fridge is fine. I also learned how to do the diagnostics on the display panel. That way I can monitor what temp the control board is getting from the thermistor and compare it to the food compartment thermometer. They should be about 10 degrees apart. Returned mini fridge to Home Depot :) Thank you, again, for this really great, helpful video!
Thank you for that feedback- really encouraging to keep making videos.
The bad gear. You said nothing about it. Or the place that you bought it.
Yeah super easy to just remove the 4 screws on the face plate
Sweet I hope mine works as well
So I have a valance that has come loose. Do I need to remove the entire thing like you did to get it back into the hold?
I don't see the other video on your channel
Did it perfect until the very end. Improper use of the Lazy Lube system destroyed your brake shoes. 😢
Do not do anything the way this guy did it.
No reason to take out fuse. Check voltage on each test point or use ohm check on test points.
Hey THANKS!!! Camping World wants $190.00 per hour form total of 6 hrs... you just saved a ton of money
what's the name of that bearing remover you used to pull the bearing out ??
Glad this video got posted. Nothing out there, in terms of video, to show people how to resolve. If someone follows the instructions of comments for this video and removes face plate successfully, you ought to post a video of your success, so there’s visual in addition to an explanation.
I'd recommend you remove the cover again and seal the perimeter with Eternabond tape. It makes a more permanent seal that lap sealant.
When are you going to post a video for checking the Optical Control unit on the fridge?
Maybe not a big thing for you but for me, just seeing the 12vdc leads attached to the board, still color coded, is going to help so much!
You could have squeezed that bottom face plate on the sides and it comes off instead of cutting up stuff. Then there's screws behind it to take the component out. What amp is the fuse also.
Thanks for the great instructional video. I have the same issue and your diagnostic help has allow me to follow the power source all the way to the display board but that is where I am stuck. How do you check for connectivity on the wires from the Control board to the Display board?
Great question! The key is find how far along the circuit the power has traveled including - is it making it through the cabling. It’s been a while since I’ve looked at this but Im pretty sure it’s a continuity test that is in the manual that I didn’t do in the video because I felt like I was beating up the electronics pretty good on this equipment so I didn’t demonstrate. It’s in the flow chart in the service manual and the video hopefully develops confidence with this equipment to propel you forward for further independent discovery.
I’m going to have to complete the diagnostics on the optical cb. A lot of requests. I would recommend the service manual. With the instructional help on this video, the steps in service manual should be easier to follow.
Thank you so much for the help and suggestions to repair my 1200LRIM fridge. I am looking froward to your next video for the display circit board.@@youcandoitrv4198
Great question! I’d go to the optical control board and test and see if you get twelve volts.
Always tighten castle nut to 50lbs to fully seat the bearings. Then back them off
The sprocket and pin for the motor are purchased separately, but from the same supplier as the motor mentioned in the video.
🚽🛠️😢 🌀
Good video. Thanks. When you were showing the sloppy old gear on the motor, I see that the new motor didn't have a gear on it. Does the motor come with a gear or is that purchased separately?
Purchases from same supplier but separate item
You are truly doing something wrong if this happens. What did you do to get (pardon please) all that crap out of the tank?
We were just coming off the holidays. After the clog was broken a lot of black tank flushes.
Thank you for this video. Ready to learn how to test optical control board. My Norcold 1200 LRIM has stopped working and I have checked everything up to this point.
Great video ! Well done sir .
You can get coupler at Ace Hardware
I’m about half way through display board video. Everything I knew about refrigerator came from study of service manual.
Thank you for this video. The display on my Norcold 3150 just went out. I will look at the power board tomorrow. Have you posted the video for checking the display board? If not, do you have any suggestions or know of other videos for this?
You’re going to want to check for 12 VDC at the optical control board. If you have power there, this will give you first confirmation the wiring harness (cable) from power control to optical control is checking out to be in good shape. There’s a continuity test that I’ll have to demonstrate to confirm harness is good, but from there it’s a check on optical control. I’d want to see 12VDC passing through the board from positive to negative on the board. If not that’s needing replacement, likely.
How do you locate the junction box?
Find where your plug goes into the RV on the outside. On the inside of your trailer, you most likely have a cabinet or storage area where you'll see the junction box
Now I know what to do. Thank you!
Thank you for the video.. I just did the same thing on my 2019 Jayco... That nut up on the shower flange just cracked into 2 pieces. Hopefully with the flex of the fernco coupler it will not come loose.
My peatrap busted completely in half on my keystone. Idk what happened. I had everything winterized never noticed anything. I was going on a trip this weekend and I sanitized my water tank just before going and again never noticed anything. Drove to the campground and the next morning my wife got me and said water was everywhere. Went to check now all of a sudden I have a peatrap completely sheared in half. I don’t know if maybe if it was from flexing from driving or if it got hit with the towels under the sink but she said she never touched the towels. The particle board cabinets don’t appear to have been wet for long because if they had been sitting there with soaked towels for long it would have bubbled and swelled the wood bad but it wasn’t. I just got all the wet towels out opened the cabinet and put a fan in there and stopped using that sink till I could get home. Now I need to inspect the kitchen sink also. I may just throw a rubber style on just in case it is from flexing. What’s odd is it appears to go straight down then turns under the bed and drops straight to the grey water tank. I don’t see any reason for it to be flexing honestly.
Doing mine at the moment, needed this video to remember where the brass wire goes. Thanks for the vid
Hey did u do the display testing. I have a short at the fuse. Will ur test work without a working fuse.
The cable harness where I’ve checked for 12 volts will show 0 volts if the fuse is blown and needs replacement. That fuse needs replacement.
the display will not have power if the 12 volt fuse is blown.
